It is needless to mention that the proven capability of cloud computing and digital twin-based monitoring and control systems will play a major role in the implementation of digital twin-based lithium-ion battery management systems (BMS) for e-transportation. In this context, the combination of the Internet of Things (IoT) and fog computing emerges as an enabling technology that facilitates bidirectional data communication and processing. This paper proposes a five-layer IoT framework for the implementation of cloud-based battery monitoring and BMS. Additionally, it critically analyzes the existing IoT frameworks applied to BMS and justifies the suitability of the five-layer architecture. Furthermore, the advantages of fog computing, such as low latency, fault tolerance, limitless systems, multiple applications, and shared responsibility, are discussed. The paper also explores four previously proposed computing-enabled architectures: centralized, hybrid, distributed, and hybrid-distributed computing. Moreover, the potential of utilizing hybrid computing architectures, incorporating fog computing as a supplement to cloud computing, is highlighted to address fault, privacy, or latency issues in cloud-based BMS.

In today's connected and data-driven world, networks and digital systems need to be protected from malicious attacks. The effectiveness of conventional Intrusion Detection systems (IDS) in recognizing and impeding novel threats and intricate methodologies has its limits. This study introduces a new method for improving network security by using deep learning techniques in the design and development of an intrusion detection system (IDS). The suggested Intrusion Detection System uses deep learning techniques, specifically Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), to identify and react to known and new security threats. Data can be taught to be encoded into a lower-dimensional representation and then decoded back into its original form using autoencoders (AEs). Autoencoders are a cutting-edge intrusion detection system that can lower false positives and raise overall detection accuracy because of their capacity to automatically learn from and adjust to the ever-changing threat landscape. They enhance computer networks capacity to spot irregularities and possible security threats. With the deep learning model obtaining a high accuracy of 99% in real-world threat detection, the results show that deep learning is effective in developing intrusion detection systems.

Structure learning of Bayesian networks using sparrow optimization algorithm

Bayesian networks are powerful analytical models in machine learning, used to represent probabilistic relationships among variables and create learning structures. These networks are made up of parameters that show conditional probabilities and a structure that shows how random variables interact with each other. The structure is shown by a directed acyclic graph. Despite the NP-hard nature of learning Bayesian network structures, there has been significant progress in improving the accuracy of approximation solutions. The main focus is on score-based search strategies, which make use of functions to evaluate network models and identify structures with high scores. This study is significantly focused on structure learning Bayesian networks using the Bayesian Dirichlet equivalent uniform scoring function and metaheuristic search strategies. To this end, this paper presents the sparrow optimization algorithm (SOA), a new metaheuristic algorithm derived from the foraging behavior of sparrows. SOA performs a concurrent optimization in the solution space by simultaneously performing a local and global search that leads to the discovery of near-optimal structures. The results from our experiments on several benchmark datasets show that SOA yields overall better performance than SA and greedy search algorithms. In particular, it is claimed that by applying the proposed approach of SOA, the convergence speed is significantly higher compared with the existing ones;F1 score is 0.35 and 0.05 for the Hamming distance with better results. Given these results, signed operators prove to be very efficient in SOA’s Bayesian network structure learning as a concept, especially for real-world use. © (2024), (Society of Sytematic Innovation). The field of Neural Machine Translation (NMT) has shown impressive performance for quick and easy communication in various languages spoken all over the world. NMT helps us by improving communication between different languages. For this purpose, different sequential models are used such as Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Long Short Term Memory (LSTM), and Gated Recurrent Units (GRU). Analysis among these different models are important for making language translation better and choose the best model for the right job. This research investigates the performance of these models on two distinct language datasets, English-to-German and English-to-Urdu. Based on accuracy metrics, the findings reveal that GRU having test accuracy (88.22% ) outperforms RNN (87.21% ), and LSTM (85.70% )demonstrating the highest translation accuracy, followed by RNN and LSTM exhibiting comparatively lower accuracy levels. © 2023 IEEE.

This workshop is designed to intentionally share experiences and connect participants to their greatest asset, their voice. There is power in your voice. Engaging interaction, thought-provoking storytelling, and authentic truth telling will open the way for understanding the value of harnessing voice power when navigating professionally and personally. Despite diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, stated commitments to diversity, the demographic characteristics of the professoriate and industry look remarkably like the faculty and professionals of 50 years ago for Blacks in computing. Blacks in computing constantly face discrimination in the form of microaggressions and white fragility. This discrimination has not translated to greater Black faculty and professional representation in their career advancement. Instead, the health of both faculty and professionals are being adversely impacted, as they are experiencing insomnia, anxiety, depression, emotional distress, and physical exhaustion. This disruption of norms has a negatively impacted the productivity of both Black men and women at work and can lead to their demotion and dismissal. Many times, these struggles are not shared, and their voices are silenced. This workshop primarily addresses how Blacks in computing can use their voice to advance their careers and utilize proven voice positioning strategies to harness their voice power and to maximize professional and personal wellbeing. These voice strategies will facilitate both Black men and women in their career advancement, skill development, and preparation for entry into their next career level. A failure to address these challenges has negative implications for both academia and industry

Self-Optimizing Memory Controllers present a great potential in the future of memory controllers. As they alleviate the burden of designing an optimal memory scheduling policy, while providing adaptability to different workloads and systems. Previous state-of-art controllers scheduled memory accesses on the command level. This causes the agent to lose sight of the relation between commands and can lead to the issuing of unuseful sequences of precharge/activate of rows or closing banks that should have been left open, and vice versa. In this work we propose a bank-aware self-optimizing memory controller that schedules memory references on the request-level, presenting to the agent the actual problem it needs to tackle. This simplifies the evaluation of system attributes and eliminates the need for correction mechanisms that was needed in previous controllers. With the proposed algorithm a maximum of 18% increase in the data bus utilization is achieved compared to the commonly used FR-FCFS algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.

Fostering crop health is vital for global food security, underscoring the need for effective disease detection. This research introduces an innovative artificial intelligence (AI) model designed to enhance the detection and diagnosis of diseases in tomato plants, particularly focusing on Early Blight and Late Blight. Significantly, our model leverages cutting-edge image processing techniques to improve disease detection efficiency, outperforming traditional methods in terms of speed and accuracy. Our results demonstrate an impressive model accuracy of 92.58% on training data and 86.83% on validation data, showing the effectiveness of AI in diagnosing plant diseases. These high accuracy rates underline the potential of our model for timely disease classification, allowing for immediate and appropriate interventions. However, our research also identified a potential overfitting problem in the model's performance. To address this, we propose using regularization and data augmentation techniques to enhance the model's generalizability on unseen data. Additionally, we delve into inherent challenges that plague AI-based plant disease detection, such as the scarcity of diverse datasets and the difficulty of achieving broad generalizability across different plant species. In identifying potential solutions for these issues, our research lays the groundwork for the wider and more practical implementation of AI technologies in agriculture. © 2023 IEEE.

In the current era of chatbots, this research delves into the advancements in AI chatbots, drawing on artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) techniques to mimic human-like conversations. A particular focus is given to the potential of chatbots in facilitating multitasking dialogues, offering emotional support, and addressing complex subject matter, all the while respecting user privacy and trust. The implemented chatbot model is trained on a neural network, using Keras and TensorFlow libraries. This model's performance indicates a considerable dependence on the dataset's size, with larger datasets leading to better outcomes by providing more extensive language usage and context examples. Additionally, we also analyze the effect of varying architectures and hyperparameters on chatbot performance. The significance of localizing chatbots to adapt to different languages and cultures is also highlighted. While promising, the study identifies areas of improvement, suggesting future research directions in enhancing language capture techniques, expanding training datasets, and integrating emotional intelligence within chatbot systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Sentiment analysis is a widely studied area of natural language processing (NLP), however, a lot of attention has been given to languages with higher resources, like English. By concentrating on low-resource African languages including Hausa, Nigerian Pidgin, Igbo, Yoruba, Swahili, and Kinyarwanda for which there is a lack of curated datasets for sophisticated AI applications. This research intends to close the gap by examining the viability of current NLP strategies and creating new ones to meet this challenge. Sentiment analysis enables us to comprehend the feelings and viewpoints expressed in textual information. A transformer-based language model is presented in this research for low-resource African languages in order to classify sentiment and generalize across languages. We fine-tune the XLM-RoBERTa model on Hausa, Nigerian Pidgin, Igbo, and Yoruba, and then assess its performance in these languages as well as Swahili and Kinyarwanda, which the model had not previously seen. Our findings show that, even in languages with few linguistic resources, the model is effective at performing sentiment analysis tasks for known and unknown languages. This research helps close the digital language gap by extending natural language processing capabilities to under-resourced African languages.

In era of modern world and technology where everything is digitalized. Cloud computing emerged as one of the fastest growing parts of digital industry. With the Succor of cloud computing models, business accomplishes their objectives with least exertion when contrasted with traditional processing environment. In spite of these compensations, yet security of the information in cloud database is the significant fear in endorsement of cloud. Although several techniques have been proposed such as cryptographic and steganographic approaches, but all of these have some loopholes.
