Crime forecasting is a critical endeavor aimed at preventing future criminal actions, specifically the rising rate of violence against women in India. This study proposes the model to predict crimes committed against women using data from the National Crime Records Bureau's (NCRB) monthly crime report. The dataset encompasses district and state-wise crime activities from 2001 to 2014. The proposed work objectives are identifying factors influencing these crimes and developing predictive models using machine learning (ML). The study employs Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), to enhance the predictive power of the models. The suggested study uses XGBoost, Random Forest (RF), and Neural Network (NN). The neural network algorithm outperforms the Random Forest and XGBoost techniques among these three. The Random Forest algorithm has the worst performance. After comparing the accuracies of various methods, such as XGBoost (92%), and Random Forest (89.84%) classifiers using imbalanced datasets (without employing Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) technique), it was found that the neural network algorithm (95.81%) delivers the highest accuracy. This study looks at model accuracies and finds that, after applying the SMOTE algorithm, neural network algorithms performed best, with an accuracy of 96.76%, outperforming the accuracies of the remaining models, which included the Random Forest (93.08%) and XG-Boost (95%).

Mobile Ad-Hoc network is a self-configuring and multi-hop collection of mobile devices for making successful communication. The wireless and mobile communication process are encountered based on bandwidth, process control and energy conception. Energy conception is considered and dynamically changed to rely on life time of batteries and power. The life time of battery get exhausted very quickly the nodes are moved and changed rapidly across the network. This paper noticed the problem of life time of power, batteries and energy consumption problem in various routing stages. The proposed Intelligent Gen Algorithm is used to get optimal solution for ensuring high robustness, flexibility and Energy consumption factor. It presents a common framework to balance various routing requirements in MANETs dynamically. The following are the main contributions includes, i. introducing Intelligent GEN Algorithms to classify the throughout bandwidth, delay, data ratio. ii. Various routing performance are evaluated and viewed by speed, packetize and simulation time. The comparison evaluated by select routing algorithm using NS-2. The simulation results are recorded and the performance is monitored by using on demand access protocl. Many Internet platforms collect fresh information of various points of interest (PoIs) relying on users who happen to be nearby the PoIs. The platform will offer reward to incentivize users and compensate their costs incurred from information acquisition. In practice, the user cost (and its distribution) is hidden to the platform, thus it is challenging to determine the optimal reward. In this paper, we investigate how the platform dynamically rewards the users, aiming to jointly reduce the age of information (AoI) and the operational expenditure (OpEx). Due to the hidden cost distribution, this is an online non-convex learning problem with partial feedback. To overcome the challenge, we first design an age-based rewarding scheme, which decouples the OpEx from the unknown cost distribution and enables the platform to accurately control its OpEx. We then take advantage of the age-based rewarding scheme and propose an exponentially discretizing and learning (EDAL) policy for platform operation. We prove that the EDAL policy performs asymptotically as well as the optimal decision (derived based on the cost distribution). Simulation results show that the age-based rewarding scheme protects the platform's OpEx from the influence of the user characteristics, and verify the asymptotic optimality of the EDAL policy. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents Alfred, a web-based artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot powered by the Rasa framework and designed to facilitate Agile software release planning by using two machine learning (ML) models to estimate the time for each task selected by the project managers and recommend the optimal resource to be assigned to each task. Extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) is used for time estimation, and the model’s performance evaluated using accuracy, adjusted coefficient of determination (R2), and fitting a line between the estimation and actual values. The results obtained were 82% accuracy and 98% adjusted R2 score. K-nearest neighbors (K-NN) is used for resource recommendation in a one-shot learning manner. The application integrates a dashboard with useful visualizations and an interactive smart assistant AI-based chatbot, providing project managers with a tool to make more informed decisions. Additionally, an approach is used to indicate the model’s confidence in tasks estimation of given tasks based on the amount of available data showing the history in the system to give project managers more insights. The approach uses a keywords frequency indication algorithm based on the summary tokens to group the task estimates into one of three categories of confidence: high, medium, or low.

In the realm of agriculture, infections on tomato leaves pose a worldwide danger to established tomato production, impacting a large number of farmers worldwide. To ensure healthy tomato plant growth and food security for the world's expanding population, early disease detection, treatment, and solution identification are essential. The use of computer-assisted technologies for disease detection in plant leaf is prevalent in modern agriculture. The goal was to develop an effective deep learning model for the detection of diseases in tomato plant leaf. To address memory and computational resource constraints, the proposed model incorporates a lightweight ‘Region Convolutional Neural Network (R-CNN)‘ head and conducted experiments with various neural network architectures, including Densenet-169, optimized Mobilenet-V2 and Resnet-50, to enhance detection accuracy and computational efficiency. The research extends the capabilities of these neural network architectures by optimizing anchor proportions in the Conventional Neural Network (CNN) and modifying feature extraction topologies. These optimizations resulted in improved detection accuracy and computational efficiency and compared proposed technique against cutting-edge models to evaluate its viability and robustness. The outcomes of the research were promising. Impressive outcomes were obtained by the proposed approach regarding accuracy, F1-score, recall, and precision.

Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergence is one of the most important measures to calculate the difference between probability distributions. In this paper, we theoretically study several properties of KL divergence between multivariate Gaussian distributions. Firstly, for any two n-dimensional Gaussian distributions Ɲ1 and Ɲ2, we prove that when KL(Ɲ2‖Ɲ1) ≤ ε (ε > 0) the supremum of KL (Ɲ1‖Ɲ2) is (1/2) ((-W0 (-e-(1+2ε)))-1 + log(-W0 (-e-(1+2ε))) - 1), where W0 is the principal branch of Lambert W function. For small ε, the supremum is ε + 2ε1.5 + O (ε2). This quantifies the approximate symmetry of small KL divergence between Gaussian distributions. We further derive the infimum of KL(Ɲ1‖Ɲ2) when KL(Ɲ2‖Ɲ1) ≥ M (M > 0). We give the conditions when the supremum and infimum can be attained. Secondly, for any three n-dimensional Gaussian distributions Ɲ1, Ɲ2, and Ɲ3, we theoretically show that an upper bound of KL (Ɲ1‖Ɲ3) is 3ε1 + 3ε2 + 2√ε1ε2 + o(ε1)+ o(ε2) when KL (Ɲ1‖Ɲ2) ≤ ε1 and KL(Ɲ2‖Ɲ3) ≤ ε2 (ε1, ε2 ≥ 0). This reveals that KL divergence between Gaussian distributions follows a relaxed triangle inequality. Note that, all these bounds in the theorems presented in this work are independent of the dimension n. Finally, we discuss several applications of our theories in deep learning, reinforcement learning, and sample complexity research.

Education is essential for achieving many Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Therefore, the education system focuses on empowering more educated people and improving the quality of the education system. One of the latest technologies to enhance the quality of education is Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Machine Learning (ML). As a result, ML has a significant influence on the education system. ML is currently widely applied in the education system for various tasks, such as creating models by monitoring student performance and activities that accurately predict student outcomes, their engagement in learning activities, decision-making, problem-solving capabilities, etc. In this research, we provide a survey of machine learning frameworks for both distributed (clusters of schools and universities) and centralized (university or school) educational institutions to predict the quality of students' learning outcomes and find solutions to improve the quality of their education system. Additionally, this work explores the application of ML in teaching and learning for further improvements in the learning environment for centralized and distributed education systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Artificial intelligence is actively becoming widespread in every field. The complex structure of deep neural network models, especially those used in real-world applications, may contain faults that lead to unexpected model behavior, even well-trained AI models. To detect these types of faults and model behaviors, it is necessary to perform a white box test of the model's reliability and adequacy by mutating its layers, activation functions, and similar model structures and parameters. White box testing is a method that tests the logical flow of software to detect possible faults and deficiencies in the code. The proposed module performs model-based testing using this testing technique. The module was developed as an extension of the traditional testing tool IM-FIT. It was inspired by IM-FIT's advanced fault detection capacity in traditional software testing, autonomous or customized testing options, and detailed report generation capabilities. The module carries out an advanced scanning and mutation process using its own unique fault library for deep neural networks. The module successfully performed the test by autonomously generating mutants and classifying these mutants. Tests were performed on a Transformer model using the TensorFlow library during the testing process. As a result of the tests performed with 5, 10, and 20 epoch values, a total of 606 mutants were produced. While 414 of these mutants were classified as killed, 192 were classified as survived. This study presents it to the literature as an effective mutation testing tool focusing on deep neural networks.

Multi-pushdown systems are a standard model for concurrent recursive programs, but they have an undecidable reachability problem. Therefore, there have been several proposals to underapproximate their sets of runs so that reachability in this underapproximation becomes decidable. One such underapproximation that covers a relatively high portion of runs is scope boundedness. In such a run, after each push to stack i, the corresponding pop operation must come within a bounded number of visits to stack i. In this work, we generalize this approach to a large class of infinite-state systems. For this, we consider the model of valence systems, which consist of a finite-state control and an infinitestate storage mechanism that is specified by a finite undirected graph. This framework captures pushdowns, vector addition systems, integer vector addition systems, and combinations thereof. For this framework, we propose a notion of scope boundedness that coincides with the classical notion when the storage mechanism happens to be a multi-pushdown. We show that with this notion, reachability can be decided in PSPACE for every storage mechanism in the framework. Moreover, we describe the full complexity landscape of this problem across all storage mechanisms, both in the case of (i) the scope bound being given as input and (ii) for fixed scope bounds.
