Deep learning approaches’ use in financial market forecasting has recently drawn a lot of attention from both investors and scholars. The Transformer framework, initially created for natural language processing, is used in this study to propose a revolutionary approach for forecasting the stock market indices of seven different economies: China, Canada, India, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The well-known Transformer architecture, which excels at capturing complex non-linear patterns, is modified to study the unique dynamics of each nation’s stock market. The model successfully determines the basic principles driving market behavior by using an encoder-decoder structure and a multi-head attention mechanism. The aforementioned indices are used in back-testing trials, which cover a variety of economic environments. The outcomes demonstrate that the Transformer performs better than conventional techniques, with Mean Squared Error (MSE) acting as a crucial evaluation criterion. Notably, the model shows promise for investors in these widely separated markets to receive excess profits. This study offers a thorough analysis of stock market forecasting, expanding its relevance to a wider global context. comprehension of how this strategy might adjust to various financial ecosystems is improved by the addition of seven unique economies. Future research may go more deeply into applications that are industry-specific and investigate potential extensions to additional international markets.

The widespread adoption of cloud storage enables users to remotely access resources through a self-service model. Utilizing pay-per-use storage services provided by cloud service providers (CSPs) requires users to commit financially to their resources. This paper introduces a Secure Cloud Storage (SCS) framework, offering a secure architecture for cloud storage using a consortium blockchain network to address trust issues. This framework substitutes the third-party auditor with peers of a consortium blockchain network, which handles the role of data storage and verification. Storage space is divided into uncommitted and committed segments. Uncommitted storage is used for storing unverified documents, while committed storage is reserved for documents that have been validated through a consensus mechanism. In contrast, committed storage is des-ignated for the storage of committed documents. Documents validated by a consensus threshold of peer nodes are moved from uncommitted to committed storage. The implementation of the SCS framework is conducted using Hyperledger Fabric, a modular blockchain platform optimized for permissioned networks. The security analysis demonstrates that SCS effectively protects cloud storage against attacks, including unauthorized access attacks, data integrity attacks, and malicious server attacks, while maintaining data integrity and auditability. The performance evaluation shows that document upload and retrieval times, block acceptance, execution times, and latency are all improved compared to state-of-the-art cloud storage techniques.

The paper shows the process of developing a model of multistage evaporator station of a sugar factory based on a neural network. The neural network predicts the main performance indicators of the multistage evaporator station, such as the concentration of syrup at the output of the evaporator and the amount of evaporated water at the station. Unlike existing solutions, forecasting is performed in real time based on a set of indicators of the automation system (temperatures, flow rates, levels, pressure, density in the apparatus) and industrial laboratory (concentration of solids at the inlet to the evaporation station). The proposed neural network model has an MLP structure with 27 inputs, 2 outputs and one hidden layer with 20 neurons and predicts these indicators with an error of less than 5%. This allows to increase the informative support of the operator-technologist on the quality indicators of the enterprise without additional load on the industrial laboratory and without additional cost automatic quality devices, as well as to perform timely adjustment of the technological mode of the department. © 2022 IEEE.

The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the shift in organizations' strategies toward innovative online services. Customer reviews on platforms for online ordering and delivery are a vital source of information about how well a business is performing. Businesses that provide food delivery services (FDS) seek to leverage consumer input to locate areas where customer satisfaction could be raised. Sentiment analysis (SA) has been the subject of an enormous amount of English-language research. Despite Arabic's increasing popularity as a writing language on the Internet, not much study has been conducted on sentiment analysis of Arabic up to this point, with a limited number of publicly available resources for Arabic SA such as datasets and lexicons. The present study collects FDS-related reviews in Arabic to conduct extensive emotion mining, taking advantage of Natural Language Processing, feature selection, and Machine Learning techniques to elicit personal judgments, identify polarity, and recognize customers’ feelings in the FDS domain. To demonstrate that the proposed approach is suitable for analyzing human perceptions of FDS, we designed and carried out excessive experiments that assess the utility of each phase. Our highest categorization accuracy was 90 % using Mutual Information with the SVM classifier. The study's findings provide various managerial insights for improving their plans and service delivery, as well as revealing the main reasons for consumer complaints. It also demonstrates how future academics might harness the power of online business reviews in Arabic using a variety of text-mining approaches. © 2024 The Author(s)

Materials synthesis is vital for innovations such as energy storage, catalysis, electronics, and biomedical devices. Yet, the process relies heavily on empirical, trial-and-error methods guided by expert intuition. Our work aims to support the materials science community by providing a practical, data-driven resource. We have curated a comprehensive dataset of 17K expert-verified synthesis recipes from open-access literature, which forms the basis of our newly developed benchmark, AlchemyBench. AlchemyBench offers an end-to-end framework that supports research in large language models applied to synthesis prediction. It encompasses key tasks, including raw materials and equipment prediction, synthesis procedure generation, and characterization outcome forecasting. We propose an LLM-as-a-Judge framework that leverages large language models for automated evaluation, demonstrating strong statistical agreement with expert assessments. Overall, our contributions offer a supportive foundation for exploring the capabilities of LLMs in predicting and guiding materials synthesis, ultimately paving the way for more efficient experimental design and accelerated innovation in materials science. © 2025, CC BY-SA.

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) changed the world’s lifestyle switching many techno-services to be provided remotely instead of direct usual physical interactions between people. This study focused on university students’ perceptions of this virtual technology-engineering change as discrepancies to be analyzed. The research surveyed 777 different students from four Arab middle-east neighboring countries, with related demographics and specifications, expressing full remarkable experiences of e-technology in virtual as well as traditional performances helping reveal overall tolerance possibilities. The study adopted examination technology via ANOVA to test discrepancies within students' perceptions for overall multi-factors deep analysis classification. The exploration highlighted an interesting range of pros and cons remarks including feminism and economic effect as well as other cultural and engineering interaction issues, raising signals to essentially consider and mutually benefit from adequate future generation e-techno adaptation within the region. © The Author(s) 2023.

Cyberbullying, marked by its persistent and intentional aggression online, yields severe repercussions for its victims, extending beyond immediate distress to long-lasting effects such as heightened anxiety, depression, and social withdrawal. Individuals subjected to Cyberbullying often grapple with diminished self-esteem, compromised academic performance, and strained interpersonal relations. Given the escalating prevalence of this digital menace, there is a pressing need for advanced methodologies to address it effectively. This paper introduces an approach to Cyberbullying detection, integrating techniques such as Bag-of-Words (BoW) and Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) analyses, along with the parallel processing capabilities of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and the contextual comprehension provided by Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) networks. Through an experimentation on the latest Ejaz-Choudhury-Razi Cyberbullying dataset, our framework exhibits satisfactory performance in identifying instances of online hostility. These results underscore the potential of our approach to significantly contribute to ongoing efforts aimed at combating Cyberbullying in digital environments. © 2024 IOS Press. All rights reserved.

In the production and assembly process, the accuracy of detection is usually low due to limited resources and small quantities. In this paper, we propose a few-shot learning method for object detection based on the combination of YOLOv8 and Mamba-Like Linear Attention (MLLA) module. This method utilizes a high-pixel camera to capture the shape and size of the workpiece. By consistency-based mutual augmentation structure for few-shot samples data augmentation. By introducing the efficient and lightweight MLLA module, the model's speed and accuracy in object detection and segmentation tasks on mobile devices are significantly improved. Specifically, MLLA mainly integrates the two key elements of 'forget gate' and 'block design' in Mamba, and MLLA replaces forget gate by using position coding (RoPE) to provide necessary location information while maintaining parallel computation and fast inference speed. This makes MLLA improves the accuracy of detection and segmentation recognition. Experimental results show that compared to the original YOLOv8 model, the model with the MLLA module exhibits improvements in segmentation precision and recognition accuracy. This method demonstrates high accuracy and robustness in workpiece recognition, making it suitable for real-time industrial applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Reinforcement Learning for Blind Stair Climbing with Legged and Wheeled-Legged Robots

In recent years, legged and wheeled-legged robots have gained prominence for tasks in environments predominantly created for humans across various domains. One significant challenge faced by many of these robots is their limited capability to navigate stairs, which hampers their functionality in multi-story environments. This study proposes a method aimed at addressing this limitation, employing reinforcement learning to develop a versatile controller applicable to a wide range of robots. In contrast to the conventional velocity-based controllers, our approach builds upon a position-based formulation of the RL task, which we show to be vital for stair climbing. Furthermore, the methodology leverages an asymmetric actor-critic structure, enabling the utilization of privileged information from simulated environments during training while eliminating the reliance on exteroceptive sensors during real-world deployment. Another key feature of the proposed approach is the incorporation of a boolean observation within the controller, enabling the activation or deactivation of a stair-climbing mode. We present our results on different quadrupeds and bipedal robots in simulation and showcase how our method allows the balancing robot Ascento to climb 15cm stairs in the real world, a task that was previously impossible for this robot. Small sets of genuinely nonlocal Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states in multipartite systems

A set of orthogonal multipartite quantum states are called (distinguishability-based) genuinely nonlocal if they are locally indistinguishable across any bipartition of the subsystems. In this work, we consider the problem of constructing small genuinely nonlocal sets consisting of generalized Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states in multipartite systems. For system (C2)⊗N where N is large, using the language of group theory, we show that a tiny proportion Θ(1/2N) of the states among the N-qubit GHZ basis suffice to exhibit genuine nonlocality. Similar arguments also hold for the canonical generalized GHZ bases in systems (Cd)⊗N, wherever d is even and N is large. What is more, moving to the condition that any fixed N is given, we show that d+1 genuinely nonlocal generalized GHZ states exist in (Cd)⊗N, provided the local dimension d is sufficiently large. As an additional merit, within and beyond an asymptotic sense, the latter result also indicates some evident limitations of the “trivial othogonality-preserving local measurements” (TOPLM) technique that has been utilized frequently for detecting genuine nonlocality.
