While systematic literature reviews are frequently carried out within software engineering research, performing them in a rigorous and reproducible manner can be difficult. This paper proposes some new methods for evaluating and validating systematic literature reviews. Our approach consists of several steps, such as: Selecting a set of relevant scientific papers to analyze, Developing a list of questions and criteria to evaluate each literature review, and Determining what types of functionality and performance should be evaluated. We tested our method by having multiple experts evaluate the literature reviews based on our questions and criteria. We measured the similarity in scores between each expert to determine the reliability of the evaluations. The average similarity index between experts was 0.58 to 0.83, indicating a reasonable level of agreement in their assessments. This shows our evaluation method can produce fairly consistent results, even when different experts are involved. The relatively high level of agreement is notable considering each expert brings their perspectives and opinions in analyzing literature reviews. By providing concrete questions, criteria, and evaluation methods, we aimed to guide the experts toward more uniform evaluations. In summary, we developed and tested a new approach for evaluating and validating systematic literature reviews in software engineering. By assessing reliability via interrater agreement, we showed that consistent and reproducible results are possible using our evaluation framework and methodology. Our methods could help researchers gain more insight into what makes for an effective and high-quality literature review. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper the problem of automatic defects detection in thin film transistor is considered in order to increase the efficiency of electronic devices. An effective approach based on defect pattern recognition in organic transistor is developed using the Radon transform. The adopted design and technology in Pentacene organic thin-film transistor exhibits two interdigitated Archimedean spirals pattern. In the conducted experiments, the images acquisition is performed with a microscope camera to capture the various defects of surface morphology on the top of the examined transistors. The defects detection is obtained by using the Radon transform on each channel (R,G,B) of these images. © 2023 IEEE.

ChatGPT, an AI-based chatbot, offers coherent and useful replies based on analysis of large volumes of data. In this article, leading academics, scientists, distinguish researchers and engineers discuss the transformative effects of ChatGPT on modern education. This research discusses ChatGPT capabilities and its use in the education sector, identifies potential concerns and challenges. Our preliminary evaluation shows that ChatGPT perform differently in different subject areas including finance, coding, maths, and general public queries. While ChatGPT has the ability to help educators by creating instructional content, offering suggestions and acting as an online educator to learners by answering questions, transforming education through smartphones and IoT gadgets, and promoting group work, there are clear drawbacks in its use, such as the possibility of producing inaccurate or false data and circumventing duplicate content (plagiarism) detectors where originality is essential. The often reported "hallucinations" within GenerativeAI in general, and also relevant for ChatGPT, can render its use of limited benefit where accuracy is essential. What ChatGPT lacks is a stochastic measure to help provide sincere and sensitive communication with its users. Academic regulations and evaluation practices used in educational institutions need to be updated, should ChatGPT be used as a tool in education. To address the transformative effects of ChatGPT on the learning environment, educating teachers and students alike about its capabilities and limitations will be crucial. © 2023 The Authors

This paper introduces a new method for managing fire hydrants that uses a monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and a Naive Bayes Classifier (NBC) for predictive maintenance. Water pressure, flow rate, and the physical state of fire hydrants are among the essential factors for the proposed system continually collecting data using an IoT sensor network. The system analyzes real-time data using NBC. These predictive capabilities reduce the potential of hydrant breakdowns during emergencies through preventive maintenance potential. It introduces a reliable IoT infrastructure for fire hydrant monitoring, improving the acquired data's granularity and timeliness. NBC provides a powerful instrument for early problem detection, significantly improving maintenance effectiveness. Since the technology is compatible with existing fire department procedures, it can easily integrate into current operational processes. Better public safety, more efficient use of resources, and more dependable fire hydrants are potential outcomes of responsive and proactive data-driven maintenance techniques. The findings improve overall fire safety and operational efficiency, with a 25% decrease in maintenance expenditures and a 40% increase in issue detection accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

This research introduces a novel anomaly detection framework for IoT -based Smart Grid Cybersecurity Systems. Leveraging autoencoders, LSTM networks, GANs, SOMs, and transfer learning, our approach achieves superior precision, recall, and execution time compared to existing methods. Visualizations and an ablation study further validate the method's efficiency, emphasizing the critical roles of attention mechanisms and transfer learning. This comprehensive solution addresses the dynamic challenges of smart grid cybersecurity, offering a versatile and adaptive anomaly detection mechanism for real-world applications. This indicates the real-time efficacy of our anomaly detection method. Through our study of ablation and all aspects of computing, we discovered that attention processes and transfer learning facilitate faster problem solving in a dynamic smart grid. Our method is distinct and adaptable enough to address every problem arising from the discovery of anomalies in IoT-driven Smart Grid Cybersecurity Systems. © 2024 IEEE.

The atmosphere’s fine articulate Matter (PM2.5) poses various health-related risks. Even though multiple efforts have been made to lower the emissions of these substances, the mortality rate is continuously increasing, requiring immediate inclination of the scientific community towards the design and development of advanced predictive models. Conventional statistical approaches have become dormant due to their limitations in capturing the innate relationships between the pollutants, particularly for predicting PM2.5 concentrations. In contrast, machine and deep learning techniques have shown great potential for forecasting air quality, providing more accuracy than its predecessor techniques. The present study investigates the utilization of hybrid approaches by integrating machine learning models with deep learning models to improve the prediction capabilities of PM2.5 concentration. It uses datasets from the World Air Quality Index (WAQI) and the State of Global Air (SOGA) to analyze the performance of the models on both the daily and annual data, respectively. This ensures the model’s effectiveness on a diversified dataset. The present study implements Random Forest (RF), Polynomial Regression (PR), XGBoost, and Extra Tree Regressor (ETR) coupled with Fully Connected Neural Network (FCNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Bi-directional LSTM (Bi-LSTM) for obtaining optimized results. Finally, after a thorough investigation, the hybrid PR model coupled with FCNN (PR-FCNN) is found to be the best model with improved R-squared (R2) values, portraying its potential for predicting PM2.5 concentration accurately. Based on the experimentation, the preset study recommends implementing hybrid approaches, offering better predictive accuracy in forecasting air pollutants, especially PM2.5. © The Author(s) 2024.

The classic greedy coloring algorithm considers the vertices of an input graph G in a given order and assigns the first available color to each vertex v in G. In the Grundy Coloring problem, the task is to find an ordering of the vertices that will force the greedy algorithm to use as many colors as possible. In the Partial Grundy Coloring, the task is also to color the graph using as many colors as possible. This time, however, we may select both the ordering in which the vertices are considered and which color to assign the vertex. The only constraint is that the color assigned to a vertex v is a color previously used for another vertex if such a color is available. Whether Grundy Coloring and Partial Grundy Coloring admit fixed-parameter tractable (FPT) algorithms, algorithms with running time f(k)nO(1), where k is the number of colors, was posed as an open problem by Zaker and by Effantin et al., respectively. Recently, Aboulker et al. (STACS 2020 and Algorithmica 2022) resolved the question for Grundy Coloring in the negative by showing that the problem is W[1]-hard. For Partial Grundy Coloring, they obtain an FPT algorithm on graphs that do not contain Ki,j as a subgraph (a.k.a. Ki,j-free graphs). Aboulker et al. re-iterate the question of whether there exists an FPT algorithm for Partial Grundy Coloring on general graphs and also asks whether Grundy Coloring admits an FPT algorithm on Ki,j-free graphs. We give FPT algorithms for Partial Grundy Coloring on general graphs and for Grundy Coloring on Ki,j-free graphs, resolving both the questions in the affirmative. This study examines the academic field of Artificial Intelligence in Education (AI-ED) by examining the publications and indexed documents in Scopus from 2010 to 2023. Consequently, we examined the publishing trends, exemplary articles, and the most engaged participants and funding institutions in the domain of AI-ED research. A bibliometric analysis was performed to examine the network of co-authorships, keywords, and citations in the domain of AIED research. The Scopus search resulted in the discovery of 10,474 published documents on AI-ED. Additionally, trends analysis indicated a significant increase of over 3,000% in publications between 2010 and 2023. Conference papers are the most often utilized document type, including 6757 publications or 64.5% of the overall amount. The ACM International Conference Proceeding Series is the primary source for published materials, accounting for 675 publications or 6.44% of the total publications on the topic. The most prolific researchers in the field of AI-ED are Breazeal, C and Chai C.S, each having published 18 documents. Additionally, the two institutions that have produced the highest number of published documents are Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and the University of NC State University (NCSU). The output of the affiliations active in the topic is primarily attributed to the funders, specifically the National Science Foundation, which is the leading funding institution based in the United States and has contributed to 354 publications. An analysis of keyword co-occurrence revealed 6 main study areas that cover the essential tools, theories, methodologies, and socioeconomic and financial aspects of artificial intelligence in education (AIED). Future research in the field of artificial intelligence in education will focus on employing sophisticated deep learning, machine learning, and neural network algorithms to precisely predict students' learning patterns. © 2024 IEEE.

This research proposes the assessment of banking and financial services using AI to monitor how banks apply AI approaches and the feedback they receive from customers. In order to better track, anticipate, and react to customer behavior, the financial information generated by the growing utilization of digital pay and banking can be mined by banks and other financial institutions. Based on research, secondary sources are reviewed to ascertain the data used in banking and financial services. A methodical survey is designed to gather the main information clients have regarding AI applications. The study is that private banks and other financial institutions use a variety of artificial intelligence (AI) services to better serve their clients and ensure that they are happy with their financial services, as some clients are not happy with banking services. Additionally, the results indicated that clients would be more committed to banking and financial services representatives by providing creative preparation for the advancement of AI practices in the workplace. © The Author(s).
