In this paper, we present a scheme for steganalysis of LSB matching steganography based on feature extraction and pattern recognition techniques. Shape parameter of generalized Gaussian distribution (GGD) in the wavelet domain is introduced to measure image complexity. Several statistical pattern recognition algorithms are applied to train and classify the feature sets. Comparison of our method and others indicates our method is highly competitive. It is highly efficient for color image steganalysis. It is also efficient for grayscale steganalysis in the low image complexity domain

In this paper we give an overview of the four TRECVID tasks submitted by COST292, European network of institutions in the area of semantic multimodal analysis and retrieval of digital video media. Initially, we present shot boundary evaluation method based on results merged using a confidence measure. The two SB detectors user here are presented, one of the Technical University of Delft and one of the LaBRI, University of Bordeaux 1, followed by the description of the merging algorithm. The high-level feature extraction task comprises three separate systems. The first system, developed by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) utilises a set of MPEG-7 low-level descriptors and Latent Semantic Analysis to detect the features. The second system, developed by Bilkent University, uses a Bayesian classifier trained with a "bag of subregions" for each keyframe. The third system by the Middle East Technical University (METU) exploits textual information in the video using character recognition methodology. The system submitted to the search task is an interactive retrieval application developed by Queen Mary, University of London, University of Zilina and ITI from Thessaloniki, combining basic retrieval functionalities in various modalities (i.e. visual, audio, textual) with a user interface supporting the submission of queries using any combination of the available retrieval tools and the accumulation of relevant retrieval results over all queries submitted by a single user during a specified time interval. Finally, the rushes task submission comprises a video summarisation and browsing system specifically designed to intuitively and efficiently presents rushes material in video production environment. This system is a result of joint work of University of Bristol, Technical University of Delft and LaBRI, University of Bordeaux 1.

A useful learning system for human motion characters of traditional arts, such as Mai (Japanese classic dance), Kabuki (one of Japan's traditional stage arts), etc., is being developed. In such arts an effective system to pass the tradition down from a top artist to next generations is required. Video contents are generally used to pass the human motions in traditional arts down for non-experts. However, the video contents normally show the human motions as the views from a single direction. If the human motions are presented from orthogonal three-directions at the same time, it comes more useful. So, our learning system produces the three-dimensional human motion by the sequences of views from a single direction in the video contents, then, the motions from any directions can be presented simultaneously with the video *** addition, a learner can check the difference in motion between a top artist and him/herself by the producing his/her three-dimensional skeleton motion with our system and the overlapping it with one of the top artist. Here, in the comparison between two different physiques (a top artist and a learner) a simple adjustment method is *** our study standard motion capture processes are employed, but our goal is to develop an original practical training system of performers' motion for beginners in traditional arts. For eventually providing terahertz science with compact and convenient devices, terahertz (1-10 THz) quantum-well photodetectors and quantum-cascade lasers are investigated. The design and projected detector performance are presented together with experimental results for several test devices, all working at photon energies below and around optical phonons. Background limited infrared performance (BLIP) operations are observed for all samples (three in total), designed for different wavelengths. BLIP temperatures of 17, 13, and 12 K are achieved for peak detection frequencies of 9.7 THz (31μm), 5.4 THz(56 μm), and 3.2 THz(93 μm).respectively. A set of THz quantum-cascade lasers with identical device parameters except for doping concentration is studied. The S-doping density for each period varies from 3.2 × 1010 to 4.8 × 1010 cm2. We observe that the lasing threshold current density increases monotonically with doping concentration. Moreover, the measurements for devices with different cavity lengths provide evidence that the free carrier absorption causes the waveguide loss also to increase monotonically. Interestingly the observed maximum lasing temperature is best at a doping density of 3.6 × 1010 cm-2.

The main objective of the paper is to introduce how the concept of tensor HOSVD can be carried over to the TP (tensor product) dynamic models, namely, how we can define and generate the "HOSVD like" decomposition of linear parameter varying (LPV) dynamic models. We term this decomposition as HOSVD based canonical form of TP model or polytopic model form. The key idea and the basic concept of this decomposition was proposed with the TP model transformation based control design methodology. The novelty of this paper is to present the mathematical background of this concept. The paper shows convergency theorems how the TP model transformation is capable of reconstructing this HOSVD based canonical form numerically. The proofs of the theorems are lengthy, therefore they are omitted. The paper also presents numerical examples to show the applicability, efficiency and uniformity of the numerical reconstruction
