ChatGPT, an AI-based chatbot, was released to provide coherent and useful replies based on analysis of large volumes of data. In this article, leading scientists, researchers and engineers discuss the transformative effects of ChatGPT on modern education. This research seeks to improve our knowledge of ChatGPT capabilities and its use in the education sector, identifying potential concerns and challenges. Our preliminary evaluation concludes that ChatGPT performed differently in each subject area including finance, coding and maths. While ChatGPT has the ability to help educators by creating instructional content, offering suggestions and acting as an online educator to learners by answering questions and promoting group work, there are clear drawbacks in its use, such as the possibility of producing inaccurate or false data and circumventing duplicate content (plagiarism) detectors where originality is essential. The often reported "hallucinations" within Generative AI in general, and also relevant for ChatGPT, can render its use of limited benefit where accuracy is essential. What ChatGPT lacks is a stochastic measure to help provide sincere and sensitive communication with its users. Academic regulations and evaluation practices used in educational institutions need to be updated, should ChatGPT be used as a tool in education. To address the transformative effects of ChatGPT on the learning environment, educating teachers and students alike about its capabilities and limitations will be crucial. © 2023, CC0.

Millimeter wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (massive MIMO) is one of the most promising technologies for the fifth generation and beyond wireless communication system. However, a large number of antennas incur high power consumption and hardware costs, and high-frequency communications place a heavy burden on the analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) at the base station (BS). Furthermore, it is too costly to equipping each antenna with a high-precision ADC in a large antenna array system. It is promising to adopt low-resolution ADCs to address this problem. In this paper, we investigate the cascaded channel estimation for a mmWave massive MIMO system aided by a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) with the BS equipped with few-bit ADCs. Due to the low-rank property of the cascaded channel, the estimation of the cascaded channel can be formulated as a low-rank matrix completion problem. We introduce a Bayesian optimal estimation framework for estimating the user-RIS-BS cascaded channel to tackle with the information loss caused by quantization. To implement the estimator and achieve the matrix completion, we use efficient bilinear generalized approximate message passing (BiG-AMP) algorithm. Extensive simulation results verify that our proposed method can accurately estimate the cascaded channel for the RIS-aided mmWave massive MIMO system with low-resolution ADCs. Social media is a growing field, mostly everyone is availing the benefits of it. It seems that overuse of this technology may cripple academic standards of our next generations. Nevertheless research studies in this direction is limited, and recent information systems scholars has warranted more research in this direction. The motive of this study is to explore how excessive social media use affects students' academic performance and come up with a suggestion to reduce social media usage and increase educational learning of an individual. Using primary data collected from Pakistani university students, 265 entries were analyzed using SPSS tool. Findings suggest that usage of social networking sites has a significant result on undue use of social media. Furthermore, results also indicated that unwarranted use of social media has a detrimental effect on learning performance. Results also supported the idea that student technology self-efficacy diminishes the undesirable association between excessive social media use and academic performance.

COVID-19 is a contagious infection that has severe effects on the global economy and our daily *** diagnosis of COVID-19 is of importance for consultants,patients,and *** this study,we use the deep learning network AlexNet as the backbone,and enhance it with the following two aspects:1)adding batch normalization to help accelerate the training,reducing the internal covariance shift;2)replacing the fully connected layer in AlexNet with three classifiers:SNN,ELM,and ***,we have three novel models from the deep COVID network(DC-Net)framework,which are named DC-Net-S,DC-Net-E,and DC-Net-R,*** comparison,we find the proposed DC-Net-R achieves an average accuracy of 90.91%on a private dataset(available upon email request)comprising of 296 images while the specificity reaches 96.13%,and has the best performance among all three proposed *** addition,we show that our DC-Net-R also performs much better than other existing algorithms in the literature.

The solubility of CO2 in polyethylene glycol (PEG) polymer is a critical parameter for optimizing its use in various industrial processes, underscoring the need for precise predictive models. In this research, a Random Forest (RF) machine learning model is meticulously tuned through four sophisticated optimization algorithms: Batch Bayesian Optimization (BBO), Self-Adaptive Differential Evolution (SADE), Bayesian Probability Improvement (BPI), and Gaussian Processes Optimization (GPO). The model leverages a dataset of 164 experimental samples, incorporating essential input parameters such as pressure, PEG molar mass, and temperature to predict CO2 solubility. To prevent overfitting, K-fold cross-validation is applied throughout model training. The efficacy of each optimization method is evaluated using computational runtime and performance metrics, including R-squared (R2), mean squared error (MSE), and average absolute relative error (AARE%). Correlation analysis indicates that pressure has a moderate positive relationship with CO2 solubility (correlation coefficient: 0.58), while PEG molar mass and temperature exhibit weaker associations (0.2 and 0.05, respectively). Among the optimization techniques, RF-BPI proves to be the most effective, delivering superior predictive performance. The results show RF-BPI achieves an R2 of 0.9625 for the training set and 0.9307 for the test set, surpassing other methods. For benchmarking, a conventional multiple linear regression (LR) model was tested, demonstrating significantly lower accuracy (R2 notably inferior to RF-BPI’s 0.9307 on the test set). In terms of computational efficiency, BPI records the shortest runtime (63.9 seconds), while SADE is the least efficient, requiring 2370.2 seconds. Sensitivity analysis further clarifies the relative impact of each input variable on CO2 solubility, affirming the power of data-driven approaches in modeling complex systems. autism spectrum disorder is known as a neurodevelopmental disorder with sensory problems. Many infected adults die frequently due to the psychological conditions they live in. Machine learning helps doctors detect cases of autism spectrum disorders in adults. It has proven very successful in this field. In this study, after pre-processing and solving the data class imbalance problem the data we proposed to use MCDM methods to know prioritization and the best method to diagnose autism between four algorithms (SVM, Random Forest, Neural Network, and KNN), after obtaining the classification results we utilized AHP method to assign weights to each classification performance metrics based on expert assessment then he used both the obtained weights and the classification results to enter them into the VIKOR method to make a decision based on the weighted table where we would get the ranking of the algorithms. The random Forest method scores the best in this classification for diagnosing autism, with an accuracy rate of 0.9957 and sensitivity 0.9841.

Integer factorization is a significant problem, with implications for the security of widely-used cryptographic schemes. No efficient classical algorithm for polynomial-time integer factorization has been found despite extensive research. Although Peter Shor’s breakthrough quantum algorithm offers a viable solution, current limitations of noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) computers hinder its practical implementation. To address this, researchers have explored alternative methods for factorization suitable for NISQ devices. One such method is the Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm, which treats factoring as an optimization problem defined over binary bits, resulting in various problematic aspects. In this paper, we explore the Func-QAOA approach for factorization, which premises overcoming some of the limitations of previous approaches and allows the incorporation of more advanced factorization techniques. After reviewing the most promising quantum implementations for integer arithmetics, we present a few illustrative examples to demonstrate the efficacy of the Func-QAOA approach and discuss methods to reduce the search space to speed up the optimization process. Few-shot Semantic Segmentation (FSS) aims to adapt a pretrained model to new classes with as few as a single labelled training sample per class. Despite the prototype based approaches have achieved substantial success, existing models are limited to the imaging scenarios with considerably distinct objects and not highly complex background, e.g., natural images. This makes such models suboptimal for medical imaging with both conditions invalid. To address this problem, we propose a novel Detail Self-refined Prototype Network (DSPNet) to constructing high-fidelity prototypes representing the object foreground and the background more comprehensively. Specifically, to construct global semantics while maintaining the captured detail semantics, we learn the foreground prototypes by modelling the multi-modal structures with clustering and then fusing each in a channel-wise manner. Considering that the background often has no apparent semantic relation in the spatial dimensions, we integrate channel-specific structural information under sparse channel-aware regulation. Extensive experiments on three challenging medical image benchmarks show the superiority of DSPNet over previous state-of-the-art methods. The code and data are available at https://***/tntek/DSPNet. Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) use natural images and videos as input to understand the real world by overlaying and inferring digital elements, facilitating proactive detection in an effort to assure safety. A crucial aspect of this process is real-time, accurate object recognition through automatic scene analysis. While traditional methods primarily concentrate on 2D object detection, exploring 3D object detection, which involves projecting 3D bounding boxes into the three-dimensional environment, holds significance and can be notably enhanced using the AR ecosystem. This study examines an AI model’s ability to deduce 3D bounding boxes in the context of real-time scene analysis while producing and evaluating the model’s performance and processing time, in the virtual domain, which is then applied to AVs. This work also employs a synthetic dataset that includes artificially generated images mimicking various environmental, lighting, and spatiotemporal states. This evaluation is oriented in handling images featuring objects in diverse weather conditions, captured with varying camera settings. These variations pose more challenging detection and recognition scenarios, which the outcomes of this work can help achieve competitive results under most of the tested conditions. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.
