In the face of global warming and the acceleration of climate changes, urgent and decisive measures must be taken to mitigate these phenomena. This study addresses this urgent need by exploring the transition from traditional AC distribution systems to more efficient DC and hybrid AC/DC systems, recognizing the utmost importance of both technical developments and economic considerations. Through a thorough overview of existing literature and empirical knowledge gathered from the nanogrid of FOSS Research Centre for Sustainable Energy of University of Cyprus, this research clarifies the inherent advantages of DC and AC/DC hybrid systems. In addition, it presents a detailed case study for the comprehensive assessment of the feasibility and effectiveness of these systems. The preliminary economic analysis carried out in this study demonstrates the cost-effectiveness and performance improvements offered by hybrid AC/DC microgrids compared to conventional AC configurations. According to the findings of this work it is obvious that the ROI increases with the increase of DC loads over AC loads until the case where DC loads reach the 75% of the total load (ROI=13.9%). However, even in the case of Full DC microgrid, the ROI is higher by 1% compared to the case of Full AC microgrid thus significantly reducing the payback period. These findings not only underline the urgency of the transition to more efficient and sustainable energy distribution systems, but also provide valuable information for policymakers, industry stakeholders and researchers. By embracing these innovative technologies, a more resilient and environmentally responsive energy infrastructure can be promoted that is in line with the demands of a rapidly changing global climate. © 2024 IEEE.

Hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical firms, diagnostics centres, pathology labs, insurance companies, and emergency vehicles must be connected in a unified system to better serve patients worldwide with cutting-edge medical care. Most previously existing systems rely on cloud-based platforms, which face several technological challenges, including data availability, data accessibility, processing delays, scalability concerns, problems gathering real-time data, and difficulties monitoring patients. Information about a person’s health is extremely private and should be protected with the utmost care. To address these issues, We propose a decentralised, secure, and efficient framework incorporating the internet of things, fog computing, and blockchain technology to collect, process, manage, and store healthcare data. A unique role-based access control is used in the proposed framework to prioritise critically ill patients while maintaining confidentiality, scalability, data availability, and system security. Finally, we evaluate the efficiency of our proposed framework by conducting experiments on device registration time, transaction latency, transaction throughput, and access control in medical environments using realistic healthcare scenarios. In the present scenario of rapid growth in cloud computing models,several companies and users started to share their data on cloud ***,when the model is not completely trusted,the data owners face several security-related problems,such as user privacy breaches,data disclosure,data corruption,and so on,during the process of data *** addressing and handling the security-related issues on Cloud,several models were *** that concern,this paper develops a Privacy-Preserved Data Security Approach(PP-DSA)to provide the data security and data integrity for the out-sourcing data in Cloud *** preservation is ensured in this work with the Efficient Authentication Technique(EAT)using the Group Signature method that is applied with Third-Party Auditor(TPA).The role of the auditor is to secure the data and guarantee shared data ***,the Cloud Service Provider(CSP)and Data User(DU)can also be the attackers that are to be handled with the ***,the major objective of the work is to enhance cloud security and thereby,increase Quality of Service(QoS).The results are evaluated based on the model effectiveness,security,and reliability and show that the proposed model provides better results than existing works.

Thalassemia is a Disease that passes from parents to children through genes. It is a red blood cell disorder caused when the body doesn’t make enough of a protein in the blood called hemoglobin. Three classifications of Thalassemia are Alpha(a), Beta(b), DeltaBeta(db) And Beta thalassemia is the most effective disease compared to other types. Out of 5% of patients 3% comes in Beta Thalassemia. It is first identified in the early 19’s with the symptoms like poor growth, severe anemia, and huge abdominal organs. It is a disease of which most people are deceased due to unawareness, and not getting proper Medication, especially in rural areas as they cannot find symptoms because other disease symptoms differ from thalassemia. Out of 10000 newborns, approximately an average of 4.4 will be affected by thalassemia. Out of 32 districts In India, 10 to 12 thousand children were born with this disease. To date, no research work has shown the exact death rates of thalassemia worldwide. Blood transfusion is the major method used for the prevention of thalassemia-affected patients. Apart from that Bone marrow is another prevention method used for Beta Carriers. In this work, we gathered detailed Information about thalassemia and its types so that people will get aware of this disease. This work provides details of how this disease is getting inherited from parents to children, the depth of the characteristics of every subtype, and the statistics about causes and death rates from this disease. © 2024 The Author(s).

Many types of wireless networks and technologies, including those used for longer distances, shorter distances, and in the personal area are all included into the designs of IoT applications. This opens up a wide range of commercial possibilities in sectors as varied as e-health, smart cities, and smart homes. This article takes a close look at some key wireless technologies for the IoT, as well as several others that are currently undergoing rapid development. Notable technologies including ZigBee, 6LoWPAN, Bluetooth Low Energy, LoRa, and several variants of Wi-Fi, including the cutting-edge IEEE 802.11ah standards are addressed. The data range and rate, network size, RF channels and bandwidth, power consumption, and other relevant aspects are all studied in depth in the research in order to assess the capabilities and behaviors of these technologies. Evidence suggests that a holistic technology approach is required for the IoT to provide interoperable and secure communications. In this paper, we investigate how recent advances in wireless technology can provide answers to long-standing problems in efficient routing. Several alternative optimization methods, such as PSO and ACO, inspired by natural events have been applied throughout the routing process in previous studies. In this research, we use an MVO to find the optimal connection establishment route for wireless nodes. The simulation results validate that the proposed adjustment improves throughput. In addition, the ratio of packets lost by the conventional method to those lost by the proposed method is larger than that of the latter. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

A significant task within neurology and epilepsy management is the differentiation of seizures from the Electroencephalogram (EEG signal). The current work of research focuses on suggesting an idea to enhance the detection of seizures by applying the Asymmetrical Back Propagation Neural Network (ABPN) classification. This dynamic aspect of ABPN is ideal for learning the details of the features and patterns of EEG since seizures are usually unilateral. We also compare our ABPN classifier with the standard neural networks to confirm that our proposed classifier perform better in sensitivity, specificity, and the overall assessment of the classifier in the global environment. According to the experiment, the authors are convinced that the ABPN model can solve the problem of lowering the false-positive rate along with the increase in the speed of detection to make it suitable for real-time seizure observation. This research will be useful in the improvement of better equipment to detect the seizures with a positive implication on patient health. © 2024 IEEE.

Agriculture is facing bigger challenges in the 21st century due to the scarcity of resources. Artificial intelligence is being integrated with agriculture to cater to people's needs, unlocking fresh avenues for sustainability and innovation. One of the crucial agricultural practices is plant growth monitoring to detect plant stress at an early stage. In the past, there have been preliminary attempts at plant growth monitoring using red-green-blue (RGB) and depth images. The major challenge of this approach is the unavailability of the depth camera at the farmers' end. In this work, we have developed a transformer-based plant age RGB-depth fusion knowledge distillation network (PA-RDFKNet), a multi-to-single modal teacher-student network, that exploits the combined knowledge of RGB-depth pairs at the training time to infer the growth using RGB images alone during test time. The model uses a distillation loss that combines response-based, feature-based, and relation-based knowledge distillation techniques in the offline scheme. The proposed knowledge distillation improves the mean squared error for RGB images from 2 to 0.14 weeks. The results are validated on three different datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

Children generally learn at a slower pace than adults, necessitating additional practice, especially during early education stages. Mastery of the alphabet is crucial as it forms the foundation of any language, making it imperative for children to learn it first. Each child possesses a distinct learning style, and the duration required to grasp new concepts can vary considerably among individuals. To address this, the Sinhala Alphabet Learning Tool has been developed, offering preschoolers an interactive platform that enhances engagement and facilitates their learning experience. This research employs the K-Nearest Neighbors algorithm combined with image processing techniques to accurately predict letters input by preschoolers. A substantial dataset comprising 56,000 entries was meticulously collected directly from preschool participants. The data were systematically organized into folders based on letter classification, subsequently used to train the K-Nearest Neighbors model, known for its simplicity and effectiveness in pattern recognition tasks. The tool enables users to input Sinhala letters and immediately receive feedback on the correctness of their entries. The system evaluates the shape of the letters and provides feedback with an impressive accuracy rate of 87%, ensuring that preschoolers receive reliable insights into their learning progress. While previous studies have primarily focused on recognizing Sinhala characters using Optical Character Recognition integrated with machine learning algorithms, the proposed approach diverges by capturing letter inputs through a graphical user interface developed using Tkinter. This design significantly enhances the interactivity and user-friendliness of the tool, making it more suitable and appealing for preschool-aged children. © 2024 IEEE.

An Aadhar card is an exceptional and bona-fide character card in India which is being utilised as a legitimate personality verification for a wide range of everyday exchanges including deal, buy, opening financial balance, air tickets, train tickets, transport tickets, and for getting advantages of legislature of India and express government’s plans. An Aadhar card of an individual incorporates fingerprints, thumb-prints, iris pictures (left eye and right eye), and face picture. The authors believe that it is the basic right of every child/person to know the names of his/her biological parents. But, it is unfortunate that the orphaned children are not able to meet with their parents, even with the technological advancement of this earth, there is still the feeling helplessness. The hardware and software implementation of proposed technique clearly reveals that it is technically feasible to trace the parents of all orphaned children whose parents are alive.
