The enormous developments of gaming devices as well as mobile apps have increased the demand of bandwidth. Development of wireless applications has been affected because of the insufficient spectrum resources in the 3G and 4G network. This spectrum scarcity is the main limitation of 3G and 4G networks, which leads to the revolution of the 5G technology. Spectrum scarcity is a great challenge in wireless communication. There are two significant research areas that need to be explored such as, searching spectrum resource and maximum spectrum utilization. To address spectrum insufficiency, consistent research is needed to find out spectrum band and share the spectrum resource. In this work, complete Spectrum management framework is discussed as well as spectrum sharing techniques are classified. We have conducted a thorough survey on various spectrum sharing schemes. The literature survey has been classified based on some significant sharing techniques depending on spectrum access method, network architecture, spectrum allocation behavior etc. We have also summarized contribution as well as limitation of recent spectrum sharing approaches. To enhance 5G technology, related spectrum sharing surveys are studied and future research directions are also discussed here. © 2024 River Publishers.

Standard chest X-rays are used to diagnose pneumonia, an infection of the lungs that can be highly contagious due to being caused by viruses and bacteria. Nevertheless, this method is more time-consuming and routine-dependent with a bias in outcome. So to overcome these problem we developed PneumonXNet, a bespoke CNN model for the detection of pneumonia. We evaluated the performance of our method with respect to pre-trained models such as VGG16, EfficientNetB3 and ResNet50 on a X-ray image dataset comprising 5,856 images. The best result we have reached is a test accuracy of 97% with dropout value of 0.4 which is better than the pretrained models. The pre-trained model EfficientNetB3 showed the highest accuracy, which points on possible applications of transfer learning. This research signifies the capabilities of CNN models to streamline and improve detection on pneumonia, which in turn paves way for technological sophistication in health care sectors. The findings of this study carry significant impact on pneumonia detection, emphasizing the importance of deep learning model in pneumonia detection and how it can help in saving a lot of time for doctors and patients from the traditional X rays collecting systems. This can also reduce the overall treatment cost for patients. This research therefore offers new avenues for developing strong techniques for pneumonia identification, which hold promise for improving healthcare technology and patient outcomes in general. © 2024 IEEE.

Hand Gesture Recognition (HGR) promotes the most efficient and natural communication between users and machines. However, the performance of the HGR system is deteriorating due to challenging conditions such as illumination variation, complex backgrounds, inter-class similarities. In this paper, a handcrafted feature descriptor named as Local Mean Directional Intensity Patterns (LMDIP) is proposed for effective hand gesture recognition in the aforesaid challenging environment. The proposed LMDIP descriptor aims to maintain the most relevant directional information. It assists in the detection of grey level variations that move in different directions. LMDIP explores differential excitation by calculating the mean intensity of pixels across each angular neighboring pixel. The most significant effect of employing the mutually beneficial connections between adjacent neighbors in different angular directions is that it no longer relies solely on the sign of the intensity differences between the center pixel and one of its neighbors, but also on the sign of the gap across its adjoined neighbors. The performance of the proposed LMDIP is evaluated in terms of accuracy and F1-score on five benchmark datasets: Massey University Dataset (MUGD), ASL Digit Datasets, ASL Static Dataset, NUS Dataset, and OUhand Datasets. The result of the experimental show that the proposed LMDIP achieves an accuracy of 92% (MUGD Set1), 98% (MUGD Set2), 75%(MUGD Set3), 61%(MUGD Set4), 71%(MUGD Set5),99%(ASL Digit), 51%(ASL Static), 83%(NUS-I Dataset), 39% (OUhands Dataset) and respectively which is better compared to the state-of-art methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This review paper explores emerging threats to information privacy and security within the dynamic landscape of Online Social Networks (OSNs), which serve as repositories of vast amounts of user data. The rise in social media use emphasizes how crucial it is to inform users about the dangers that come with it, like cyber-attacks and privacy violations. Even though various social media platforms have been made possible by technological advancements, consumers’ ignorance of these platforms creates serious security risks. Although academics have come up with creative security solutions for social networks, there are obstacles in the way of their actual application. It is essential to continuously assess security vulnerabilities in light of technology improvements. This study examines several dangers to online social networks and suggests countermeasures based on a variety of models, frameworks, and encryption methods. Despite advancements, privacy concerns remain unaddressed, requiring parents to actively supervise their children’s online activity. © 2025 the Author(s).

In recent decades,fog computing has played a vital role in executing parallel computational tasks,specifically,scientific workflow *** cloud data centers,fog computing takes more time to run workflow ***,it is essential to develop effective models for Virtual Machine(VM)allocation and task scheduling in fog computing *** task scheduling,VM migration,and allocation,altogether optimize the use of computational resources across different fog *** process ensures that the tasks are executed with minimal energy consumption,which reduces the chances of resource *** this manuscript,the proposed framework comprises two phases:(i)effective task scheduling using a fractional selectivity approach and(ii)VM allocation by proposing an algorithm by the name of Fitness Sharing Chaotic Particle Swarm Optimization(FSCPSO).The proposed FSCPSO algorithm integrates the concepts of chaos theory and fitness sharing that effectively balance both global exploration and local *** balance enables the use of a wide range of solutions that leads to minimal total cost and makespan,in comparison to other traditional optimization *** FSCPSO algorithm’s performance is analyzed using six evaluation measures namely,Load Balancing Level(LBL),Average Resource Utilization(ARU),total cost,makespan,energy consumption,and response *** relation to the conventional optimization algorithms,the FSCPSO algorithm achieves a higher LBL of 39.12%,ARU of 58.15%,a minimal total cost of 1175,and a makespan of 85.87 ms,particularly when evaluated for 50 tasks.

The following paper proposes the SISRR framework for knowledge centric, semantically inclined, framework for software requirement recommendations. This framework is intelligent driven by integrating semantically inclined techniques with knowledge model. The SISRR model is a metadata driven framework, where the initial requirements are preprocessed, and metadata is generated to intensify the auxiliary knowledge. This is handled by deep learning GRU classifier. Subsequently ontologies are generated from the SVN repository, which is applied along with Bag of Words to enrich the ontologies. The semantic similarity is computed using CoSimRank and Tang Index. Shannons entropy is also computed to measure the information content. The context map is generated using the DBSCAN algorithm in the model. Thus, the best precision, recall and lowest FDR has been achieved by the SISRR model compared to other existing models. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and Transfer Learning Based Approach to Classify Lung and Colon Cancer

Several genetic disorders and other metabolic abnormalities work together to generate the lethal disease known as cancer. Today’s most contributing factors to mortality and disability in patients are lung and colon cancer. A World Health Organization (WHO) 2020 report listed cancer as one of the leading causes of mortality globally. About 2.735 million of these fatalities were caused by lung and colon cancer combined. A critical component of the patient’s treatment is the diagnosis of lung cancer by histopathology. Therefore, one of the leading research priorities, mostly in the domain of biomedical health information systems, is the identification and categorization of lung and colon cancer. The present article encompasses the Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and transfer learning-based approaches to classify lung as well as colon cancer. LBP has been used for extracting features, and transfer learning has been used for the classification of lung and colon cancer. Histopathological (LC25000) lung and colon datasets are used to validate the proposed methodology. The results of the proposed method have also been compared with different existing methods and reported in the article. Our proposed method has an average accuracy of 99.00% and a F1 score of 99.2%, whereas precision and recall have 99.4% for lung and colon cancer detection. The results of the investigation demonstrate that our suggested technique greatly outperforms current models. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In recent days, a wireless body area network (WBAN) has been developed as part of the Internet of Things (IoT) with sensors and actuators in three different modes, building its network, i.e., in-body sensors, wearable sensors, and on-body sensors. The doctor’s access the data recorded and monitored by the sensor embedded in the patient to treat critical situations immediately. Maintaining data integrity and guarding against threats is necessary to secure sensitive patient information. Several people have proposed schemes for authenticating data access through formal and informal verification. In this research work, we carry out multi-factor authentication extensively using zero-knowledge proofs. The anomaly detection of the sensors is detected using machine learning algorithms, which help tune the sensors to their correct working conditions. The work aims to concentrate on sensor working conditions promptly and to handle attacks like masquerade, forgery, and key escrow attacks. Hybrid approach for the detection of epileptic seizure using electroencephalography input

In the early days, it was difficult to study bio-electric signals, but now a days these problems have been solved by many hardware devices which are available at low cost. Even then there is a need for technical improvements to process bio-electric signals. Enormous effort has been taken for the detection of epileptic seizure from EEG signal. Considerable evidence available on Bonn university EEG dataset for epileptic seizure detection. However, deep learning algorithms have not applied often on Bonn university data like other machine learning algorithms for the detection of epileptic seizure due to the less availability of data. This work adopted machine learning and deep learning models for the detection of epileptic seizure. The data consists of a hundred subjects with sampling rate as 173.61 Hz of ‘S’ (ictal) and ‘Z’ (normal) dataset. The results show how the choice of healthy and ictic subjects through high order functional math decision like variance (STD), Power, Skewness, and Kurtosis values are analyzed to extract epileptic features. The performance of classifiers has been evaluated based on the evaluation metrics within which CGRU-SVM outperforms all other models with 97.54% accuracy. The features are extracted based on the statistical measures to detect epileptic seizure. Further, the proposed work provides more evidence on the epileptic seizure features, and it shows the new possibility for using deep learning models for epileptic seizure detection. With the exponential increase in data consumption from activities like streaming, gaming, and IoT applications, existing network infrastructure is under significant strain. To address the growing demand for higher data rates and better coverage, increasing base station density and exploring data offloading in unlicensed spectrum have become essential. While higher base station density reduces the distance between devices and network nodes, enhancing signal strength and data throughput, it also complicates the process of base station selection for users, particularly for those at the cell edge. Thus, ever-increasing demand for high-speed, low-latency communication services in 5G and 5G advanced New Radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) networks necessitates intelligent and dynamic approaches for user admission control and resource *** paper presents a novel solution employing neural network technology to address these critical challenges. We first propose an efficient algorithm for admission control and resource allocation. Upon generation of training data using the above algorithm, we propose a neural network-based framework for cellular networks in unlicensed spectrum such as LTE/LTE-U and 5G/NR-U networks. © 2025 IEEE.
