The aim of this study is to develop an automatic system that uses deep learning techniques to detect cervical spine fractures from medical images. Using a DICOM (Digital imaging and communications in medicine) images of cervical spine, the system can identify a fracture and specify which vertebrae has a fracture. This process involves first processing provided DICOM images, then applying data augmentation techniques including metadata information, finally designing neural network architecture for feature extraction. We use a method called transfer learning, utilizing a pre-trained model like EfficientNet, which is used for feature extraction, while optimizing network parameters using AdanW optimizer and CosineAnnealingWarmup learning rate scheduler. The results demonstrate the successful training of neural network models to identify fracture and that fractured vertebrae, with commendable performance and accuracy level noted during evaluation on validation data. This study has important implications for medical imaging and healthcare industries, since automated fracture detection can increase diagnostic efficiency and accuracy. Moreover, such a system would provide good support to healthcare professionals, specifically radiologists, to identify cervical spine fracture easily. © 2024 IEEE.

Churn, a common concern among business leaders, poses a significant challenge in today's fast-paced world where consumer attention spans are short. This research focuses on churn analysis within the OTT streaming platform sector, essential for retaining subscribers and ensuring business longevity. Utilising data preprocessing methods and machine learning algorithms, this study aims to identify factors influencing churn and provide insights for targeted retention strategies. The dataset includes 16 variables, with churn serving as the binary-dependent variable. Data preprocessing involved addressing missing values and converting categorical data into numerical format. Four machine learning models-Random Forest, XGBoost, K-Nearest Neighbors, and Support Vector Machine-were applied, with Random Forest achieving the highest accuracy of 89%. Evaluation metrics like confusion matrices, ROC curves, and Precision-Recall curves were used to evaluate model performance, revealing Random Forest's effectiveness in churn prediction. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was employed to handle the complexity of user data, aiding in the identification of influential churn factors. This study emphasises the importance of understanding customer behaviour and utilising machine learning to forecast subscription choices. The insights gained provide valuable guidance to OTT companies for enhancing customer satisfaction and retention strategies, ensuring competitiveness in a dynamic industry landscape. © 2024 IEEE.

The detection and tracking of vehicle speed are crucial for ensuring the safety of civilians and preventing accidents. Speed tracking plays a pivotal role in traffic surveillance, where effective management and the well-being of citizens take precedence. The approach leverages computer vision-based models, specifically Multi-scale Detector for object detection, and a fusion of the DeepSORT and Centroid Sort algorithms for vehicle tracking from streaming video. To cater to the requirements of these algorithms, a custom dataset was developed within a controlled setting. Dataset augmentation was employed to prevent overfitting, thereby enhancing the dataset's diversity and the model's ability to generalize. The method demonstrates the capacity to accurately detect and track vehicles, maintaining performance even in high-traffic conditions. Cross-validation at every epoch during the training phase was implemented to increase the model's accuracy. In addition to the technical aspects, an LED display board was integrated to provide real-time data to oncoming vehicles at road curves. This display showcases information such as vehicle types, passage time, and the number of vehicles within the curvy road. The proposed Multi-Scale Detector model, a customized version of the You Only Look Once (YOLO) architecture, achieved a mean average precision (mAP) of 0.954 at a confidence interval of 0.5. This overall research provides an effective and accurate solution for optimizing vehicle tracking, enhancing transportation safety, and enabling a variety of practical applications in traffic management and monitoring. © 2024 IEEE.

For more than a decade, various farm-specific models have been developed by collaborating and integrating sensing technologies as a step toward successful data-farm documentation and effective decision-making. However, the stored and gathered data continues to rely on cloud infrastructure or centralized platform control, which is particularly vulnerable to threats such as data tampering, data distortion, confidentiality, and manipulation, which caused the farm product data difficult to trace to its provenance. The objective study in this paper proposes a farm transaction model by demonstrating a flow of farm transaction simulation implicated by Modular Block Chain(MBC) sensing instrument with an array of sensors, controllers, networking hardware, computing equipment, and internal memory functions to enhance data integrity and security farm object. Based on the proposed model, a proof-of-concept experimental system called Encapsulating Block Mesh (EBM) integrates blockchain technology with the specific application case of cocoa production has been implemented. Results have shown that farm objects represented by MBC take turn recording information on the process of generating, transacting, and consuming a farm product and encrypting it into a block was validated and linked in the EBM with the hash of transaction data that connected to each cocoa farm object in a simulation environment. The findings from this study are twofold: the approach has been shown to be feasible and effective, but also capable to be expanded to other stages of the food supply chain, such as manufacturing, supermarkets, food consumption (consumers), and recycling in real-world environments. © 2018 by the authors.

Internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles are very polluting and release high nitrogen oxides, carcinogens, and soot into the environment. ICE vehicles are the best choice in this era, but replacing ICE vehicles with electric vehicles (EVs) and automated vehicle control is a potential transition process. The most important turning point in the history of the automobile occurred with the entry of EVs into the vehicle market. The rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm in electric vehicles (EVs) has changed the way we look at large-scale transportation by making it intelligent and more sustainable. Recently, with the advent of connectivity through IoT platforms, IoT in EVs has improved performance and reduced environmental impact: from any on-off switch and adoption of IoT through our smartphones placed on the charging base. We can implement smart charging solutions for better energy consumption management, reduction of grid load, and battery life enhancement. IoT allows electric vehicles to communicate directly with charging stations and even the power grid, providing a better way to create balanced transportation networks. But implementing IoT in electric vehicles also raises some issues, including data security and user privacy. With all of these issues, there is huge potential in IoT usage with electric vehicles to help produce cleaner transportation and create a more sustainable future. © 2024 IEEE.

Of late, wildfires and commercial fires like fires in a shopping complex, firework factories, and industries, continue to cause extensive destruction throughout the world, frequently causing human fatalities. The solution is divided into two systems, where the first system focuses on the wildfire and the second system focuses on commercial fires. Identifying the fire and smoke correctly plays an important role. Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping (Grad-CAM) is used to identify the smoke region in the image. This algorithm is used to assure the smoke or fire in the image. The algorithms like ResNet, CNN (Convolutional neural network), and VGG16 (Visual Geometry Group) algorithms are used in transfer learning. This aims to increase the accuracy of the detection of fire and smoke in forests to avoid mishaps. The GradCAM is an algorithm that finds out the positive score in the image. This confirms the smoke in the image using the heat map generation. The ReLU activation function is used to show the positive pixels. The saliency map is also used in finding out the difference between smoke and fog in case of wildfire. In the case of the building fire shopping complex, firework shops, factories, and industries would also require a better solution because the detection is easier but the rescue process is more difficult in such places. The same procedure is followed for detecting and finding the origin of the fire as the wildfire model. The YOLOv8 algorithm is used for real-time analysis of the building. The model constantly looks for the unusual behavior of the environment and this in turns induces the notification. The additional feature is added to the model for rescue purposes. Fire control and evacuation have become more complex and hence the solution to such a problem is not yet brought into consideration. Stress is one of the prevailing issues in today's world, deeply impacting the actual well-being of individuals. In this paper, we introduce an innovative method to detect stress that deviates from the mainstream approaches, which rely solely on physiologic signals and self-reporting. Our non-invasive, efficient, and scalable real-time system, built on the facial image data processed by CNNs, makes real-time human stress detection possible. The system captures facial expressions through video or static images, which it then processes within a CNN model to identify stress-related features. CNNs are particularly innovative in that they are adept at automatically extracting and learning hierarchical features from extremely complex, unstructured data like facial images. Facial expression datasets were used to train and test the proposed model in different stress conditions. The model achieved a very good accuracy level in differentiating stressed from non-stressed states, thus putting it on par with professionals. Real-time testing of the system's performance was done on edge devices such as smartphones to prove its potential for use in real-life applications related to mobile health. As facial image data is utilised by the system, thereby killing the need for wearable sensors or invasive physiological monitoring, the approach would be more accessible for detecting stress levels. This research showed that CNN models developed based on facial images can transform stress monitoring. Its implications are wide, applicable in health care, workplace settings, and even self-manageable personal stress. In future work, the model should be generalised for diverse populations, the system's real-time capabilities enhanced, and multimodal data further integrated to increase detection accuracy and reliability. © 2024 IEEE.

Object detection in surveillance systems leverages advanced deep learning techniques to enhance security measures through real-time analysis of dynamic video feeds. This project integrates the YOLOv5 model for detecting weapons in both pre-recorded videos and live camera feeds. The model, trained on a dataset with 4000 images labeled for handguns and knives, utilizes image preprocessing steps such as resizing, normalization, and augmentation to improve detection accuracy. Implementing the system with OpenCV and Tkinter, the application processes video streams, identifying potential threats with high precision rate of 0.85 and recall rate of 0.90. The integration of a graphical user interface ensures user-friendly operation for security personnel. Key outcomes demonstrate the efficacy of deep learning models in real-time object detection, significantly contributing to proactive surveillance and enhanced situational awareness. © 2025 IEEE.

Internet addiction is becoming one of the critical issues among teenagers and young university students. This habit not only negatively impacts the student's learning performance, but also affects the student's physical and mental health. This paper is focusing on designing a Machine Learning (ML) model for accurately identifying internet addiction. The model incorporates data preprocessing and feature selection techniques for reducing the computational complexity. Next, five different ML algorithms have been implemented and compared to identify appropriate ML algorithms. The identified ML model has been trained using the behavioral features of the students for predicting internet addiction. The experiments have been carried out and the performance of the models has been measured. The results demonstrate that a random forest classifier provides 83% accurate detection for university students and 96% accurate results are provided by an SVM-based classifier for teenager internet addiction detection. Therefore, by using the entire observation of experiments it is found that the proposed model can successfully identify internet addiction in students by analyzing the student's behavioral features. © 2024 IEEE.
