Cab booking services help people order taxis. Existing cab booking services use client server-based architecture. The paper gives a study of the architecture and workings of the Uber cab booking website (Dissanayake, March 18, 2021). It has a micro-service based architecture (Li et al. 2021). Load balancing (Al-Jaroodi et al. 2012) and stream processing (Besnard et al. 2013) are used to handle a large number of requests. The workload is divided among servers using Dispatch Optimization (Abid et al. 2022). It ensures fast responses, easy connection minimal downtime, and efficient use of resources. However, the use of servers increases the cost of service. Rider and driver depend on the server to connect. They don’t know if the system is charging them fairly. It reduces transparency and trust. The paper proposes a blockchain-based cab booking application to solve some of the problems. Trust, transparency, and decentralization can be ensured using blockchain. Transparent and immutable ledgers of blockchain ensure trust and reduce reliance on intermediaries. Smart contracts govern ride management, optimizing efficiency. Blockchain capabilities are used to ensure fair rides, direct interaction of passengers with drivers, and automated payments. The proposed system aims at combining existing technology with blockchain solution to ensure security and transparency along with scalability and quick response time. © 2025 the Author(s).

In recent years, there has been a rise in work which focuses on various issues of recommender systems other than accuracy. Popularity bias is one factor that causes the list of recommendations to deviate from the user’s expectation and causes biased list to generate. This paper proposed an approach that handles the popularity bias in trust aware group recommender system using trust propagation. The proposed work considers two factors, novelty and serendipity, to evaluate the presence of bias. By incorporating trust, along with novelty, diversity, and unexpectedness, the diverse list of recommendation that maintains accuracy should be generated. Trust propagation combines trustworthy user’s opinion indirectly involves enhancing the accuracy. The trust propagation and randomness in trust propagation ensures the trade-off between the accuracy and bias of the recommendations. A prototype is developed using the tourism dataset and compared using traditional approach of recommendation using various accuracy measures and coverage. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

The BART model is an advanced adaptation of transformers introduced by Facebook. It has incorporated elements from both BERT and GPT transformers, enabling significant advancements in language understanding and general speech processing. Utilizing both encoder and decoder components, BART proves versatile for various tasks, including translation, text completion, automatic sentence generation, entity recognition, sentiment analysis, and more. In this study, we focus on the study of pretrained models, BART and a modified version called distilbart, in the context of Zero-Shot Text Classification. In the experimental study we dive into the Zero-Shot technique applied to various pretrained Transformers. Our analysis demonstrates that, depending on the Model we utilize, we can achieve F1 scores of up to 88%, showcasing the model's effectiveness in discerning classes for this Sentiment Analysis problem using the Zero-Shot Text Classification technique. © 2023 IEEE.

Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology has emerged as an emerging solution for a variety of applications in clinical establishments., offering significant advantages such as precise localization capabilities., high data rates., and low power consumption. The paper systematically examines the utilization of UWB technology within clinical settings., focusing on its applications in health care monitoring., medical imaging., indoor positioning., and wireless communication. By leveraging a comprehensive dataset from the UCI Machine Learning Repository., the authors provide detailed empirical insights into the performance and effectiveness of VWB-based systems in enhancing healthcare outcomes. The authors also identify and discuss specific challenges., such as integration complexities and regulatory hurdles., as well as opportunities., including potential advancements in patient care and health care delivery through the adoption of UWB technology. Additionally., the authors have built a model using a Random Forest classifier and achieved an accuracy of 91.8%. © 2024 IEEE.

Traditional password-based authentication methods confront several issues such as security weaknesses, user inconvenience, and susceptibility to various attacks, e.g. phishing. These issues are solved with newly created industry standards such as Web Authentication, CTAP (Client to Authenticator Protocol), FIDO (Fast Identity Online), and W3C guidelines that deliver reliable and interoperable authentication solutions. This research explores how the FIDO, Web Authentication, CTAP, and W3C standards can be blended to revolutionize authentication practices. The proposed method should increase the security and usability of the authentication process without requiring passwords. Our technology facilitates this by establishing secure connections over Bluetooth, offering seamless UX - between a mobile device (in your pocket) and single desktop while maintaining the strongest security postures through structured authentication experiences. © 2024 IEEE.

Software maintenance is the process of fixing,modifying,and improving software deliverables after they are delivered to the *** can benefit from offshore software maintenance outsourcing(OSMO)in different ways,including time savings,cost savings,and improving the software quality and *** of the hardest challenges for the OSMO vendor is to choose a suitable project among several clients’*** goal of the current study is to recommend a machine learning-based decision support system that OSMO vendors can utilize to forecast or assess the project of OSMO *** projects belong to OSMO vendors,having offices in developing countries while providing services to developed *** the current study,Extreme Learning Machine’s(ELM’s)variant called Deep Extreme Learning Machines(DELMs)is used.A novel dataset consisting of 195 projects data is proposed to train the model and to evaluate the overall efficiency of the proposed *** proposed DELM’s based model evaluations achieved 90.017%training accuracy having a value with 1.412×10^(-3) Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and 85.772%testing accuracy with 1.569×10^(-3) RMSE with five DELMs hidden *** results express that the suggested model has gained a notable recognition rate in comparison to any previous *** current study also concludes DELMs as the most applicable and useful technique for OSMO client’s project assessment.

A Transfer Learning-Based Framework for Enhanced Classification of Perceived Mental Stress Using EEG Spectrograms

Stress is a significant health concern, impacting both physical and mental well-being. Prolonged exposure to stress can lead to numerous physical health issues, including cardiovascular diseases, and a weakened immune system. This study presents a novel methodology for classifying perceived mental stress using electroencephalography (EEG) signals. By utilizing the publicly available Leipzig Study for Mind-Body-Emotion Interactions dataset, we analyze EEG data collected from 53 participants over a 7-minute resting-state duration. Our approach involves transforming EEG signals into spectrograms using the Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT), resulting in a time-frequency representation of the input signals. We employ transfer learning to fine-tune three pre-trained deep neural networks i.e., ResNet50, EfficientNetB0, and DenseNet121 for classifying stress into two and three levels. Our findings demonstrate that the ResNet50 model achieves superior classification accuracies of 95.80% and 86.02% for two and three-level stress classification, respectively, outperforming existing state-of-the-art methods. This study is the first to utilize STFT-generated spectrograms and transfer learning for perceived stress classification, highlighting the efficacy of deep learning techniques in quantifying perceived mental stress through non-invasive EEG recordings. Our results indicate that the proposed method can significantly enhance the accuracy of stress classification frameworks, offering potential improvements in mental health assessment and intervention strategies. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper put forward an embedded scheme to execute image watermarking in light of the discrete wavelet transform (DWT), singular value decomposition (SVD) and Charge System Search (CSS) method. In the proposed scheme, Charge System Search technique is applied to advance the multiple scaling factors (MSFs). To approve the proposed scheme, six different images are used to inspect its performance and its outcomes are likewise contrasted with the past work announced in writing. The Greek School Network (GSN) provides support to students, teachers, and school units in secondary education across Greece. Handling numerous user queries manually can be challenging, necessitating the development of an automated system for accurate categorization of these queries. This paper presents a comparative study of various transformer-based models for multi-class text categorization of Greek language queries submitted to the GSN helpdesk. We introduce a new experimental balanced dataset and extract vector representations from eleven transformer-based models. These representations are evaluated using ten classic machine learning classifiers. Our findings highlight the superior performance of the Multilingual E5 Text Embeddings model, particularly when paired with the extreme gradient-boosting classifier. This combination demonstrates a clear advantage in accurately categorizing user queries, paving the way for more efficient automated helpdesk systems. © 2024 IEEE.
