The current study presents the planning and implementation of a custom-built, Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart irrigation system for wheat cultivation that helps to combat problems such as water scarcity and inefficiency in traditional irrigation methods. The proposed device employs a network of environmental sensor that ensures optimal crop development with minimum water waste. These sensors monitor soil temperature and moisture levels and shows significant improvements in water management efficiency. When compared to standard irrigation approaches, the system's pilot installation results reveal considerable water usage reductions and benefits in the health of the wheat crop. These findings prove that the system is efficient at optimizing resource use and show how it can change the way wheat is farmed forever. © 2023 IEEE.

User-centric data sharing is essential to encourage citizens'active participation in the digital *** key to smart cities,a form of the digital economy,is the promotion of public use of citizen ***,it is not easy to utilize data without citizens’*** this study,we took a technological approach to these *** access(UMA)is a well-known framework for delegating resource access rights to others on the *** UMA,authorization mechanisms are designed to be centralized so that resource owners can centrally manage access rights for various resources stored in different ***,the lack of transparency in the authorization mechanism is a barrier to its implementation in large-scale systems such as smart *** this study,we developed a blockchain-based cross-domain authorization architecture that enables a resource-sharing ecosystem in which organizations that wish to utilize data can freely trade with each *** proposed architecture solves the transparency problem that conventional authorization systems have had by designing the authorization mechanism on blockchain *** implemented the proposed architecture as smart contracts and evaluated its processing *** resultant time required for delegating access rights and accessing resources was less than 500 ***,we found that the fluctuation in the processing time overhead was *** on these results,we concluded that performance degradation with the proposed architecture is minor.

Drone based terrorist attacks are increasing daily. It is not expected to be long before drones are used to carry out terror attacks in urban areas. We have developed the DUCK multiagent testbed that security agencies can use to simulate drone-based attacks by diverse actors and develop a combination of surveillance camera, drone, and cyber defenses against them. The development of technology, especially the use of resources provided by artificial intelligence (AI), has advanced in areas where business is gaining importance and is an important fear of economic growth. The use of technical skills in the creation of products and services is not unique to design. In today's world, artificial intelligence (AI) has become an industry in many countries, and design is no exception. However, the lines of work performed by humans and machines are changing rapidly, and as a result, the global market is also changing a lot. This is the result of very rapidly developing technology. This raises the question of how this progress has and will continue to influence the future work of designers. What skills do designers need to enter or stay in this industry? The purpose of this article is to provide a summary of research findings on the impact of intelligence on the performance of designers, as well as an analysis that includes an evaluation of the potential and benefits of intelligent design solutions. Case studies and other scientific studies are used to analyze the applications and benefits of AI-based solutions. Market forecasts are more precise and effective thanks to the analysts. For providing higher returns, the trading firms efficiently mitigate the risk using Artificial Intelligence Techniques. Our proposed Stock Market system is a Web Application which uses the Random Forest Algorithm. The Random Forest Algorithm comes under Supervised Learning. Data breach is a serious issue as it leaks the personal information of more than billions of users and their privacy is compromised. More than 77% of organizations do not have a Cyber Security Incident Response plan. So, it is necessary to be informed of network security and ways to store and generate secured passwords. Having different and random passwords for ones digital accounts can exponentially increase the security of user's data. The goal of this project is to build a password manager which can securely store and encrypt passwords and other data. The multifactor authentication will provide increased security to validate the user into password management system. Multifactor authentication system includes physical security key and graphical password authentication. © 2023 IEEE.

Spoken language is the most natural way for a human to communicate with a robot. It may seem intuitive that a robot should communicate with users in their native language. However, it is not clear if a user’s perception of a robot is affected by the language of interaction. We investigated this question by conducting a study with twenty-three native Czech participants who were also fluent in English. The participants were tasked with instructing the Pepper robot on where to place objects on a shelf. The robot was controlled remotely using the Wizard-of-Oz technique. We collected data through questionnaires, video recordings, and a post-experiment feedback session. The results of our experiment show that people perceive an English-speaking robot as more intelligent than a Czech-speaking robot (z = 18.00, p-value = 0.02). This finding highlights the influence of language on human-robot interaction. Furthermore, we discuss the feedback obtained from the participants via the post-experiment sessions and its implications for HRI design. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Soma design processes are known to be slow and thoughtful, demanding personal engagement, authenticity and deep somatic engagements with both ourselves and the interactive materials. What happens when such designerly ways of knowing meet with industrial design thinking? Together with IKEA – a large furniture manufacturer – we collaborated to design for better sleep. Based on years of experience and prior somatic knowledge of designing for body awareness, the academic team staged a progression of somatic experiences for a joint one-day workshop. We contribute to interaction design epistemology by uncovering frictions and alignments between two designerly ways of knowing with distinct identities and values. In particular, we critically reflect on how to approach material choices, somatic cultivation and the notion of solutionism. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

A mixed interval graph is an interval graph that has, for every pair of intersecting intervals, either an arc (directed arbitrarily) or an (undirected) edge. We are particularly interested in scenarios where edges and arcs are defined by the geometry of intervals. In a proper coloring of a mixed interval graph G, an interval u receives a lower (different) color than an interval v if G contains arc (u, v) (edge {u, v}). Coloring of mixed graphs has applications, for example, in scheduling with precedence constraints;see a survey by Sotskov [Mathematics, 2020]. For coloring general mixed interval graphs, we present a min{ω(G), λ(G) + 1}-approximation algorithm, where ω(G) is the size of a largest clique and λ(G) is the length of a longest directed path in G. For the subclass of bidirectional interval graphs (introduced recently for an application in graph drawing), we show that optimal coloring is NP-hard. This was known for general mixed interval graphs. We introduce a new natural class of mixed interval graphs, which we call containment interval graphs. In such a graph, there is an arc (u, v) if interval u contains interval v, and there is an edge {u, v} if u and v overlap. Proteins are complex biological information granules that play a crucial role in various cellular processes within living organisms. Processing 3D protein structures, which are the most informative from the biological point of view, is both intricate and time-consuming. In particular, performing 3D protein structure searches against large protein datasets involves identifying similarities and conducting structural alignments across numerous molecules (granules). This task demands advanced methods for matching identical and similar regions within protein structures and substantial computational resources to handle large collections of macromolecular data efficiently. In this paper, we present our parallel implementation of scalable 3D structural alignment on the Apache Spark big data platform. We describe a customized approach that leverages Spark data transformations within the data processing pipeline for the alignment process. Our experimental results demonstrate that this solution, tightly integrated with the Spark processing model, is both efficient and scalable, even with the increasing volume of protein structure data. © 2024 IEEE.
