This study conducts a systematic literature review (SLR) that focuses on optimizing deep-learning techniques for post-earthquake building damage detection. By employing the PRISMA protocol, this review aimed to collect, analyze, and summarize the findings of various studies published between 2014 and 2024. This research identifies and evaluates optimization methods such as hyperparameter tuning, transfer learning, and data augmentation, highlighting their effectiveness and implementation. Challenges such as data quality, computational costs, and model interpretability were also discussed. The findings indicate that while deep learning techniques significantly enhance the accuracy and efficiency of damage detection, further research is required to address existing challenges and improve model robustness in diverse earthquake scenarios.

There has been a lack of both educational focus on computational thinking (CT) and research into effective methods of assessing CT competence. This research takes a comprehensive look at the methods used to grade CT in higher education. This study examines the use of educational robotics (ER) as a teaching strategy in higher education, with particular attention to how undergraduate students might respond differently to this kind of learning. Students collaborate using artificial intelligence to find out how to program robots (start installing, interact, sharing information, feedback, and evaluate). Of 181 undergraduates’ students from Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, Pakistan, the Philippines, Egypt, Algeria, Lesoto, Cameron, Bangladesh, Sudan, Uganda, Portugal, Ukraine, Pakistan, and England make up the study groups. These students are enrolled in the first semester of the 2022 academic year. In this work, researchers employed a quantitative method technique. During the exercise, the participants were closely monitored to assess their performance in relation to the core CT constructs in the robotics class. These constructs include confidence in dealing with complexity, persistence in problem-solving, tolerance for ambiguity, ability to handle open-ended problems, effective communication skills, and teamwork abilities. In order to enhance the implementation of strategic initiatives. To facilitate more strategic learning, this study found that the use of visual robotics of artificial intelligence helped to developing CT and the respondents strong believe it to increase students’ confidence in dealing with complexity, persistence in working through difficult questions, tolerance for ambiguity, ability to handle open problems, communication skills, and teamwork. In today’s complex global environments, it is highly challenging to achieve effective healthcare management. The critical challenges faced by healthcare management are being met by the revolution of m-health where mobile cloud computing plays a major role. The taxonomy of mobile computing comprises operational aspects, end-user issues, and service quality and mobility management. The use of smartphone technologies and applications has become a highly significant approach to improving healthcare management. Mobile health services such as mobile pathology, mobile neurosurgery, cancer treatment, and behavioral/psychological disorders are gaining significance where smartphone applications are being used. Portability, flexibility, and convenience are major characteristics of mobile computing that have helped patients and doctors to develop better relationships through coordination and communication. The relationship between smartphone technologies and applications and healthcare management can be understood in several broad aspects. This article aims to analyze the current and future implications of these technologies on healthcare and disease management systems.

The swift progression of industrial technology underscores the need for adept professionals capable of skillfully implementing and managing intricate systems. Vocational education assumes a pivotal role in cultivating competent intermediaries proficient in translating theoretical knowledge into practical applications. At the core of industrial automation lies the programmable Logic Controller (PLC), a specialized digital computer that interfaces with sensors, switches, and actuators to execute real-time control programs, thus facilitating meticulous industrial processes. This study concentrates on the practical deployment of a two-floor elevator system utilizing the OMRON CP1E N30 PLC. Elevators, integral to contemporary structures, mandate precision for secure vertical conveyance. Leveraging input signals from elevator buttons, sensors, and switches, the PLC orchestrates efficient motor control and dependable door operations. This hands-on application underscores the PLC's significance within real-time control contexts. Nonetheless, Vocational Higher Education graduates frequently grapple with the challenge of transitioning to industry settings due to limited practical exposure. This partnership harmonizes with the center's objective of enriching vocational education by integrating sophisticated technologies like PLCs, equipping the workforce with the acumen to bridge the gap between theoretical foundations and the pragmatic demands of industry. © 2023 IEEE.

Farmers and agricultural newcomers often rely on intuition for plant nutrient management, leading to inaccuracies. This study presents a real-time soil nutrient monitoring and plant recommendation system using IoT and machine learning. The prototype integrates an ESP32 microcontroller, NPK sensor, soil pH sensor, and DHT11 with an application and a machine learning model. The model employs a hard voting method combining random forest, LightGBM, and support vector machine algorithms, deployed via Flask API and hosted on Vercel. Testing showed the system effectively monitors soil nutrients in real-time, with a pH sensor error margin of ±0.51 and NPK sensor readings displaying a non-linear increase in levels. The hard voting method achieved 98.5% accuracy, with recommendation processing taking less than one second (371.17ms) and CPU usage at 7%. System performance depends on internet speed, while recommendation accuracy is influenced by temperature and humidity. This system offers a practical solution for precision agriculture by optimizing nutrient application and plant recommendations.

Education about health sciences has historically been limited in the curriculum of health professionals and largely inaccessible to the public. In practice, most of the health science education is still running conventionally. Supposedly with the advancement of technology and the use of the internet everywhere, learning such as e-learning can be important, especially in the health sector. Until this research was conducted, only 514 academic documents about e-learning in health sciences were found for 20 years from 2001 to 2020, obtained in searching on the Scopus database. This study presents a comprehensive overview of studies related to E-learning in the Health Sciences sector. This study uses bibliometric analysis and indexed digital methods to map scientific publications throughout the world. This research employs the Scopus database to gather information, as well as the Scopus online analysis tool and Vosviewer to show the bibliometric network. The method consists with five stages: determining search keywords, initial search results, refinement of search results, initial compilation, and data analysis. Among the most published and indexed articles by Scopus, papers published by researchers in the United States have the highest number of publications (80), followed by United Kingdom (63) and Australia with 45 academic publications. The processed data shows the pattern and trend of increasing the number of international publications in E-learning in Health Sciences field, which Scopus index. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. Machine learning has been employed to automatically detect the defects on car engines in several studies. One of crucial challenges on applying machine learning is on the amount of defect data collected is often large with high dimensional data, making manual detection inefficient and inaccurate. The other problem is on the missing data as oftentimes the collected data are incomplete. In this paper, we employ machine learning frameworks for engine defect detection. It comprises the data pre-processing stage which includes imputing missing value data, then performing feature correlation using the Pearson method, and selecting the features to use. After that, the label encoder and standard scaler are carried out. The experimental process begins with creating a baseline, then continues with improving imbalance data using SMOTE, and feature reconstruction using variational autoencoder (VAE). Afterwards, for classification, we employ convolutional neural networks (CNN). The proposed method achieved precision 99.63%. We collect engine quality dataset of 224,239 data with 90 features from major automobile manufacturing in Indonesia. This showed that SMOTE and Variational Autoencoder dimensional reconstruction method can overcome defect predictions in car engine defect data with data imbalance conditions. This novel methodology distinguished our study from prior methods and shows considerable increases in precision and recall matrix.

Based on WHO’s data, breast cancer is one of the most deadly diseases that has claimed many victims, especially women. This disease begins with the presence of an undetected and eventually turns into malignant (cancer). This happens due to ignorance of the importance of having a medical check-up even though in good health. Doctors and researchers can prevent the development of tumor cells through treatment that begins with radiological examinations to identify the possibility of a person being affected by this disease. One of the most frequently used techniques is Mammography. This technique can detect the presence of tumor cells using advanced technology and several methods in displaying the patient’s diagnostic results on low-dose X-rays in the form of mammogram images. The technology is inseparable from the methods used to identify the presence of tumor cells. In this study, we have proposed the CNN method based on the deep-CNN model to identify mammogram images in the detection of breast cancer cells with average evaluation results in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, specificity, and f-measure on mammogram image datasets of 99.52%, 99.72%, 99.31%, 99.72%, and 99.5%. These results showed that this method has a good performance in breast cancer detection.

The increasing use of digital payment systems has led to a rise in fraudulent activities, presenting a significant challenge in ensuring secure transactions. This research focuses on implementing the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm with a Radial Basis Function (RBF) kernel to detect fraud in digital payment systems. One of the main challenges addressed in this study is the severe class imbalance in the dataset, where fraudulent transactions account for only 0.17% of total transactions. To overcome this, the SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique) method was applied to balance the dataset, allowing the model to better recognize fraudulent patterns. The results indicate that the SVM model achieved an accuracy of 99.93%, with a precision of 86.23% and a recall of 75.51%. These results demonstrate that SVM, combined with SMOTE and RBF kernel, is highly effective in detecting fraudulent transactions while minimizing false positives. This research provides a strong foundation for improving fraud detection models in the context of digital payment systems, offering enhanced security and trust for users. Further research could explore hybrid models and real-time data analysis to improve performance.

This paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of electrical generator performance using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), with a specific emphasis on the role of coil numbers in influencing generator efficiency and functionality. In the context of modern energy systems, where efficient power generation is paramount, this research aims to elucidate the relationship between the number of coils within a generator and its overall performance, including power output and electromagnetic behavior. Through systematic FEA simulations that vary coil numbers while keeping other parameters constant, this study provides valuable insights into the trade-offs associated with increased coil numbers and enhanced efficiency. These findings have significant implications for optimizing generator designs across various applications, from renewable energy systems to industrial power generation, ultimately advancing our understanding of generator dynamics and contributing to more sustainable and efficient power generation technologies. © 2023 IEEE.
