To enhance the sensing capability of driverless cars in complex dynamic scenarios, a fusion method of radar and depth camera is emphasized and a technical framework for integrating multi-source sensors is proposed. A YOLOv8 neural network detection model combined with a self-attention network structure is first used to achieve correct recognition and depth estimation of vehicles and pedestrians, then further distance data of dynamic environment is acquired by M10P LiDAR, and finally information from D435i camera and radar information are fused by matrix projection. In the experiments, the conventional YOLOv8 model was compared to the YOLOv8 model enhanced with self-attention, the camera and LIDAR measurements were evaluated against the fusion results. The experimental results demonstrate that the new model significantly improves the confidence and stability of target detection, while the fused distance measurements are more accurate than those from individual sensors. © 2024 IEEE.

The incorporation of cutting-edge computational methodologies and machine learning strategies and genetic epidemiology has made tremendous strides in recent years. To speed up and refine genetic epidemiology studies, we present a new method called 'Enhancing the efficiency of computational genetic epidemiology using Advanced Methods' (ECEGEM), which utilizes modern computational methods and innovative technologies. The three primary methods used by ECEGEM are Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Logistic Regression, and the determination of the Polygenic Risk Score (PRS). Using PCA, we can ensure that the underlying substructure of the population is not confounding genetic connections. Through its ability to predict the association between genetic variations and illness outcomes, Logistic Regression sheds light on the hereditary nature of a variety of conditions. Individuals may get more accurate risk estimates using PRS computation, which considers their unique genetic makeup. Logistic Regression, Random Forest, Support Vector Machines, Naive Bayes, kNearest Neighbors, and Decision Trees were some of the six classic approaches we used to evaluate ECEGEM against. It was shown that ECEGEM was much more accurate and precise than the conventional approaches. This highlights the promise of sophisticated computational methods for improving the accuracy of illness risk assessment and association research. Because of its ability to take into consideration population stratification and provide more accurate modeling and risk assessment, ECEGEM has been shown to be an effective tool in genetic epidemiology. Personalized medicine and the understanding of the genetic basis of complicated illnesses will benefit greatly from the use of cutting-edge technologies and machine learning as the field develops. © 2024 IEEE.

Hate speech detection is a very popular research area for past few years. Hate speech is given various definition by various researchers. In this paper we try to analyse the use of BERT embedding in hate speech detection in low resource language like Malayalam. The crucial challenge faced by researchers in this area are that most non-English languages are represented in code-mixed form in Social media. Here we work with transformer-based models to classify tweets as hate or non-hate content. Hence this is a novel approach that uses BERT in non-English text. © 2022 IEEE.

Recommender systems enhance the user experience by integrating factual and behavioral practices, enhancing learning strategies, and granting academic opportunities based on learners subjective interests. Cognitive intelligence, a learner's capability to interpret and synthesize cognitive abilities, is crucial to assemble effective recommendations. However, a student encounters diverse adversities in his or her academic life, whether it is his or her academic pacers or outward circumstances. As a result, a learner consequently experienced severe academic setbacks. Thus, this paper proposes a novel approach to identify cognitive deficits of learners in a school or college before recommending any scholastic content or pertaining in any academic activity. We have employed a modified Bi-directional Gated Recurrent Unit (Bi-GRU) method in conjunction with Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm (SFLA). Our approach overcomes some of the shortcomings of conventional Bi-GRU method in choosing the right scaling parameters during training. Bi-GRU method is opted for detecting the cognitive deficits of a learner and SFLA is applied over Bi-GRU in order to hyper-Tune the parameters. The proposed method is compared with a few cutting-edge methods, and the experimental result outperforms the other methods in training, validation, and testing accuracies, achieving 99.34%, 98.98%, and 99.19% respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

The purpose of emotional state recognition is to let computers have the ability to analyze and understand human emotions and intentions, and deeply analyze human psychological activities, so as to play a role in the fields of entertainment, education, intelligent medical treatment and so on. Different emotion recognition algorithms and different parameters of the same algorithm have different recognition effects. Among them, muscle-based feature model and 68 feature point calibration are two common face emotion recognition methods. The former uses deep learning to judge the emotional state by analyzing the movement of face muscles, while the latter calculates various feature parameters through the position relationship of 68 key points of the face, and then judges the emotional state. This paper mainly discusses the calibration method of 68 feature points. Through the use of two machine learning algorithms (KNN, SVM) and the study of different parameters in the algorithm, the influence of different parameters on the emotion recognition effect is compared and analyzed. The experiment proves that by detecting 68 key points of face, we can find the optimal parameter value in the current classification task. © 2024 IEEE.

Using deep learning and federated learning in the medical domain has facilitated convenience in diagnosing and treating patients. However, the current privacy leakage problem has made patients more cautious about personal privacy security. Privacy security has become an urgent issue. Differential privacy is a cryptography technique that makes it impossible for attackers to identify personal data by adding noise to the training process. In this work, we first provide a complete overview of differential privacy technologies. Then, we will review existing differential privacy works in the medical field. In the realm of robotics and autonomous systems, efficient path planning is a critical aspect for optimizing resource utilization and achieving mission objectives. This study explores the application of Ant Colony Optimized (ACO) algorithms to enhance the efficiency of robots in navigating and exploring unknown environments. Inspired by the foraging behavior of ants, ACO algorithms are employed to find the shortest paths by leveraging pheromone communication and decentralized decision-making. Ant Colony Optimization is then introduced as a bio-inspired solution to address these challenges. The experimental results demonstrate the capability of the ACO algorithm to efficiently explore complex environments, adapt to changes in the surroundings, and converge to optimal paths. Insights gained from these analyses contribute to the refinement of the ACO algorithm for diverse robotic applications. The findings of this research have practical implications for the development of autonomous robots operating in real-world scenarios, such as search and rescue missions, environmental monitoring, and surveillance. This study provides a valuable foundation for the integration of bio-inspired algorithms in robotics, advancing the state-of-the-art in autonomous exploration and path planning. © 2024 IEEE.

As the world enters the 21st century, the imperative of safeguarding cybersecurity has intensified. Considering the expanding dependence on information technology (IT) systems for a broad spectrum of military operations, the stakes have never been higher for thwarting successful cyberattacks. Conventional security protocols have become increasingly precarious in the face of evolving cyber threats. This necessitates the adoption of avant-garde and nascent technologies to bolster the military's cybersecurity stance. The paper delves into an array of incipient technologies that proffers the prospect of enhancing cybersecurity in the realm of defence. These include artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), blockchain, and quantum computing. AI can be leveraged to automate numerous cybersecurity functions, such as threat detection and response. ML can augment the precision of threat detection and response systems. Blockchain, a distributed ledger technology, can safeguard data and transactions. Quantum computing, a nascent technology, harbours the potential to revolutionize computation. It could be utilized to breach present-day encryption standards, thereby rendering data vulnerable to attackers. Moreover, the paper appraises the exigencies and possibilities in defence cyber security and scrutinizes the policy and practice ramifications of these emergent technologies and best practices. © 2023 IEEE.
