A Double-Branch Xception Architecture for Acute Hemorrhage Detection and Subtype Classification

This study presents a deep learning model for efficient intracranial hemorrhage(ICH)detection and subtype classification on non-contrast head computed tomography(CT)*** refers to bleeding in the skull,leading to the most critical life-threatening health condition requiring rapid and accurate *** is classified as intra-axial hemorrhage(intraventricular,intraparenchymal)and extra-axial hemorrhage(subdural,epidural,subarachnoid)based on the bleeding location inside the *** computer-aided diagnoses(CAD)-based schemes have been proposed for ICH detection and classification at both slice and scan ***,these approaches performonly binary classification and suffer from a large number of parameters,which increase storage ***,the accuracy of brain hemorrhage detection in existing models is significantly low for medically critical *** overcome these problems,a fast and efficient system for the automatic detection of ICH is *** designed a double-branch model based on xception architecture that extracts spatial and instant features,concatenates them,and creates the 3D spatial context(common feature vectors)fed to a decision tree classifier for final *** data employed for the experimentation was gathered during the 2019 Radiologist Society of North America(RSNA)brain hemorrhage detection *** model outperformed benchmark models and achieved better accuracy in intraventricular(99.49%),subarachnoid(99.49%),intraparenchymal(99.10%),and subdural(98.09%)categories,thereby justifying the performance of the proposed double-branch xception architecture for ICH detection and classification.

Agile development aims at rapidly developing software while embracing the continuous evolution of user requirements along the whole development *** stories are the primary means of requirements collection and elicitation in the agile development.A project can involve a large amount of user stories,which should be clustered into different groups based on their functionality’s similarity for systematic requirements analysis,effective mapping to developed features,and efficient ***,the current user story clustering is mainly conducted in a manual manner,which is time-consuming and subjective to human *** this paper,we propose a novel approach for clustering the user stories automatically on the basis of natural language ***,the sentence patterns of each component in a user story are first analysed and determined such that the critical structure in the representative tasks can be automatically extracted based on the user story *** similarity of user stories is calculated,which can be used to generate the connected graph as the basis of automatic user story *** evaluate the approach based on thirteen datasets,compared against ten baseline *** results show that our clustering approach has higher accuracy,recall rate and F1-score than these *** is demonstrated that the proposed approach can significantly improve the efficacy of user story clustering and thus enhance the overall performance of agile *** study also highlights promising research directions for more accurate requirements elicitation.

Wearing a safety helmet at the work site of a chemical plant can effectively prevent safety accidents caused by head injuries, so it is very important to detect whether employees wear safety helmets. In order to solve problems such as serious information loss, large number of parameters, and weak detection ability of small targets in complex scenes in the sampling process of helmet detection algorithm. In this paper, an improved lightweight safety helmet detection algorithm LP- YOLOv5m (Lightweight And High Precision YOLOv5m) based on YOLOv5m is designed. LP-YOLOv5m incorporates the Wise-IoU (Wiou) loss function to enhance model generalization. Additionally, we add a small object detection layer to improve the feature extraction ability for small objects. Furthermore, upsampling was performed using CARAFE. Finally, a lightweight module named C3-F was proposed, which replaced the Bottleneck in the C3 module with FasterNet Block, which could effectively reduce the network model size. Comparative laboratory findings demonstrate that our improved model achieves a mAP50 of 92.1%, surpassing YOLOv5m by 3 percentage points while reducing the model size by 23.3%. The LP-YOLOv5m model can be better applied to practical scene requirements, and can effectively solve practical problems. © 2023 IEEE.

Fulfilling increasing performance demands of space and automotive applications can be problematic as high dependability is required. Memory is one of the most radiationsensitive parts, so it is often protected with information redundancy. This paper describes an integration of error correction and detection techniques into the interface of RISC-V processor to protect the data stored in the memory. We also provide a hardware-software interface for reporting errors and software routines for correcting data in memory. Our solution has a negligible impact (-3.9%) on the overall performance of the core with a small area and power consumption overhead. © 2024 IEEE.

In the field of robotic grasping, grasping tightly stacked objects is a formidable challenge. The presence of non-target objects significantly increases the risk of grasping failure. To solve this problem, the aim is to take action while grasping, reduce clutter, and effectively complete grasping tasks. Based on deep reinforcement learning, the Efficient Learning Grasping(ELG) framework is proposed that integrates pushing actions alongside grasping to efficiently pick up objects from cluttered environments with reduced training time. However, in the process of grasping, the agent is rewarded only when the grasp is successful, so the data collection is extremely inefficient and spends a lot of time on the training of grasping strategy. In our work, two strategies are proposed to improve the training efficiency. First, two mask functions are introduced as prior knowledge to enable the agent to focus on more meaningful regions while ignoring some unnecessary regions, aiming at effective learning. Second, The Pixel Overlap Rate (POR) is introduced to quantify the environment clutter level, and set a new push action reward function based on the POR. The implementation of the above ideas in a simulation environment and transferred the learned models to the real world and verified them in practice. Compared with existing method, our method improves the training efficiency of the initial algorithm while having a higher success rate of grasping. Human life is the most important asset of human beings. Every year millions of people lose their lives to cardiovascular diseases. It is a group of diseases related to blood vessels and the heart. The chances of developing cardiovascular diseases in a person can be controlled by reducing some risk factors that cause them. If they are predicted timely in patients, the patients can take decisions and make changes to their lifestyles, and consequently reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. The proposed model gave very promising results. It has proven to be very efficient in predicting cardiovascular disease in a person using the Gradient Boosting Tree algorithm. The model had 78.78%, 76.78%, 81.10%, 82.43%, and 18.90% accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, miss rate, and precision, respectively. Moreover, the fallout, LR+, LR-, and NPV were 18.90%, 4.06, 3.82, and 75.16% respectively. The classification time was 13 milliseconds per record and the detection time was approximately 0.2137 seconds per record. The proposed model also outperformed various well-known machine learning algorithms and state-of-the-art models. © 2023 IEEE.

With the ever-rising risk of phishing attacks, which capitalize on vulnerable human behavior in the contemporary digital space, requires new cybersecurity methods. This literary work contributes to the solution by novel incorporation of three techniques: Support Vector Machine (SVM), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Random Forest (RF). Utilizing NLP for deep analysis of text in phishing e-mails, SVM for strong categorization and Random Forest's decision making by group helps in improving detection. This combination of language and pattern analysis along with group learning builds a fortified system. This approach differs from prior work on a variety of factors such as reliability, security, integrity, scalability, interpretability, transparency, and robustness. Thorough evaluation on a reliable dataset aimed to demonstrate the method's effectiveness, which resulted in 98.7 % of accuracy in detection. This majorly aims at showcasing the potential of ensemble techniques to combat against cyber-attacks like phishing for laying a strong foundation for a secure digital environment. © 2024 IEEE.

Advances in machine learning and deep learning have assisted progress in stock market predictions, which have presented unique opportunities for investors and traders to benefit from predictions. However, understanding how these models work is crucial to trusting their predictions. This research applies three prominent Explainable AI (XAI) techniques - SHAP, LIME, and Permutation Importance - to three distinct forecasting models: Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), and Decision Tree. This work fills a gap in the literature by comparing XAI methods across a combination of 'black-box' and 'white-box' models. Two key research questions guide this research: the performance of these XAI methods across the chosen models and the consistency between global and local explanations across these models. Findings reveal interesting model-specific behaviors, like CNN's emphasis on slightly older data and LSTM's focus on immediate past data. In the S&P 500 dataset context, features such as 'Close' and 'Adj Close' prices emerged as significant across models, while 'Volume' remained insignificant. This study offers a broader perspective on applying XAI in financial time series forecasting and helps enhance trust and comprehension among stakeholders relying on these model predictions. © 2023 IEEE.
