In modern real-time operating systems, complex task loads are often modeled as directed acyclic graphs (DAG) and executed in parallel on multiprocessor systems. The topological constraints present in DAG tasks prevent the DAG task allocation strategy from fully leveraging the parallel advantage of multiprocessor platforms. We analyze the parallelism of DAG tasks and propose a method to limit the number of processors that can be executed by DAG tasks. This method provides more idle processors and processor time for high parallelism DAG tasks by limiting the number of processors that can be executed by low parallelism DAG tasks. In addition, we develope optimistic parallelism scheduling algorithm (OPSA) based on the remaining utilization with low complexity. The experimental results show that our DAG task allocation strategy fully utilizes processor resources, reduces interference between DAG tasks, and achieves better worst case response time (WCRT) analysis results and shorter actual task's WCRT on real-time multiprocessor system. © 2024 IEEE.

Assessing and prioritizing crucial drivers for CloudIoT-based healthcare adoption: an analytic hierarchy process approach

The CloudIoT paradigm has profoundly transformed the healthcare industry, providing outstanding innovation and practical applications. However, despite its many advantages, the adoption of this paradigm in healthcare settings remains limited. There is a lack of comprehensive understanding of the factors that ensure successful implementation. To address this issue, we have used the Analytic Hierarchy Process to prioritize 26 factors that could potentially influence the adoption of CloudIoT-based healthcare. These factors were derived from existing literature and categorized into four main groups: personal-specific, technology-specific, environment-specific, and organization-specific factors. Our findings revealed that performance expectancy, trust, facilitating conditions, task complexity, and perceived security are the top five critical factors influencing CloudIoT-based healthcare adoption. Interestingly, our results indicated that environmental factors were less influential than those in the other categories, with personal, technological, and organizational factors dominating the top ten significant factors. The insights from this study can help policymakers, CloudIoT service providers, healthcare providers, designers, and developers better understand the factors contributing to the successful implementation of CloudIoT-based healthcare. In recent years, large language models (LLMs) based on the Transformer architecture have demonstrated excellent performance in code generation, but there have been fewer studies on data flow languages. This study proposes a scheme for fine-tuning large language models based on the DFCPP dataset. We demonstrate the model's ability to generate dataflow graph (DAG) topologies and achieve significant performance improvements. Experimental results show that the BLEU score of the fine-tuned model in the DFCPP code generation task reaches 0.193, which is an increase of 112.1% compared to the non-fine-tuned model (0.091). This demonstrates the effectiveness of fine-tuning techniques in domain-specific code generation. © 2024 IEEE.

Evolutionary Optimization with a Simplified Helper Task for High-Dimensional Expensive Multiobjective Problems

In recent years, surrogate-Assisted evolutionary algorithms (SAEAs) have been sufficiently studied for tackling computationally expensive multiobjective optimization problems (EMOPs), as they can quickly estimate the qualities of solutions by using surrogate models to substitute for expensive evaluations. However, most existing SAEAs only show promising performance for solving EMOPs with no more than 10 dimensions, and become less efficient for tackling EMOPs with higher dimensionality. Thus, this article proposes a new SAEA with a simplified helper task for tackling high-dimensional EMOPs. In each generation, one simplified task will be generated artificially by using random dimension reduction on the target task (i.e., the target EMOPs). Then, two surrogate models are trained for the helper task and the target task, respectively. Based on the trained surrogate models, evolutionary multitasking optimization is run to solve these two tasks so that the experiences of solving the helper task can be transferred to speed up the convergence of tackling the target task. Moreover, an effective model management strategy is designed to select new promising samples for training the surrogate models. When compared to five competitive SAEAs on four well-known benchmark suites, the experiments validate the advantages of the proposed algorithm on most test cases. © 2024 held by the owner/author(s).

With the continuous development of the Web API ecosystem, mashup-oriented API recommendation gets a lot of attention. Collaborative filtering, deep learning and their combination based methods are recently proposed for API recommendation. However, the recommendation results often perform poorly when data is sparse. Therefore, we propose an API knowledge graph (AKG) and intent network based mashup-oriented API recommendation method, whose main target is to recruit the semantic representation ability to improve the precision of API recommendation. Firstly, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) is used to extract API topics, which are important entities in the AKG. Then, the mashup intention is modeled based on the mashup-API interactions. The high-order relationship paths are recursively aggregated into the representation vector of Mashup and API. Finally, the inner product of their representations present the probability of the API recommendation for the mashup. The experimental results on real-world datasets show that our proposed method outperforms several baseline methods in mashup-oriented API recommendations. © 2023 IEEE.

Factors have always played an important role in stock analysis, but they are only effective for specific problems in specific scenarios. Therefore, constructing factors timely and quickly for different scenarios is an urgent problem to be solved. Although some experts have constructed factors, they need to manually construct factors for each scenario, and the construction process consumes time and effort. The annual report is an important and common scenario. It is an important form of information disclosure and financial reporting. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for automatically constructing factors based on genetic programming that combines expert experience for this scenario. It incorporates the knowledge and insights of experts in the field of stock analysis into the process of automati-cally constructing factors, and continuously adjusts and improves the combination of factors through genetic programming to adapt to the needs of the scenario. The effectiveness of this method is verified through empirical analysis and its advantages in specific scenarios are demonstrated. © 2024 IEEE.

Evolutionary reinforcement learning algorithms (ERLs), which combine evolutionary algorithms (EAs) with reinforcement learning (RL), have demonstrated significant success in enhancing RL performance. However, most ERLs rely heavily on Gaussian mutation operators to generate new individuals. When the standard deviation is too large or small, this approach will result in the production of poor or highly similar offspring. Such outcomes can be detrimental to the learning process of the RL agent, as too many poor or similar experiences are generated by these individuals. In order to alleviate these issues, this paper proposes an Adaptive Evolutionary Reinforcement Learning (AERL) method that adaptively adjusts both the standard deviation and the evaluation process. By tracking the performance of new individuals, AERL maintains the mutation strength within a suitable range without the need for additional gradient computations. Moreover, the proposed AERL approach early terminates unnecessary evaluations and discards experiences arising from poor individuals, thereby resulting in enhanced learning efficiency. Empirical assessments conducted on a variety of continuous control problems demonstrate the effectiveness of the AERL method. © 2024 International Foundation for Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems.

Ambiguity is an inherent feature of language, whose management is crucial for effective communication and collaboration. This is particularly true for Chinese, a language with extensive lexical-morphemic ambiguity. Despite the wide use of large language models (LLMs) in numerous domains and their growing proficiency in Chinese, there is a notable lack of datasets to thoroughly evaluate LLMs' ability to handle ambiguity in Chinese. To bridge this gap, we introduce the CHAmbi dataset, a specialized Chinese multi-label disambiguation dataset formatted in Natural Language Inference. It comprises 4,991 pairs of premises and hypotheses, including 824 examples featuring a wide range of ambiguities. In addition to the dataset, we develop a series of tests and conduct an extensive evaluation of pre-trained LLMs' proficiency in identifying and resolving ambiguity in the Chinese language. Our findings reveal that GPT-4 consistently delivers commendable performance across various evaluative measures, albeit with limitations in robustness. The performances of other LLMs, however, demonstrate variability in handling ambiguity-related tasks, underscoring the complexity of such tasks in the context of Chinese. The overall results highlight the challenge of ambiguity handling for current LLMs and underscore the imperative need for further enhancement in LLM capabilities for effective ambiguity resolution in the Chinese language. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.
