With the growing urgency of environmental protection, the disassembly line balancing problem has garnered significant attention. Considering some products cannot be reused even after disassembly, this paper introduces a disassembly line balancing model for U-shaped lines that incorporates destructive disassembly modes. The disassembly process is described using an AND/OR graph. Two objectives are taken into account to maximize the total profit and minimize idle time. A constrained decomposition approach with grids for evolutionary multi-objective optimization with a destructive probability generation operator is developed to solve the problem. The practicality of this algorithm is validated through a series of experiments involving products of varying sizes. Furthermore, a comprehensive evaluation is conducted by comparing it with three peer algorithms. Numerical results convincingly demonstrate the proposed model’s effectiveness and superiority.

Multi-label learning studies exist in a wide range of diverse scenes such as text processing, image mining, emotion analysis, etc. Feature selection technologies are proposed to be a vital factor in the scene of multi-label learning, which can relieve the influence of curse of dimensionality, enhance the classification accuracy, and reduce the time of consumption of learning process. At present, a great number of multi-label feature selection algorithms are proposed by the researchers who are focused on the machine learning or other research fields. It is demonstrated that considering the label correlation when the method choices the importance feature subset will improve the multi-label learning methods performance. On this account, a method that based on correlations of label is proposed in this work.

Multimodal sarcasm detection (MSD) is essential for various downstream tasks. Existing MSD methods tend to rely on spurious correlations. These methods often mistakenly prioritize non-essential features yet still make correct predictions, demonstrating poor generalizability beyond training environments. Regarding this phenomenon, this paper undertakes several initiatives. Firstly, we identify two primary causes that lead to the reliance of spurious correlations. Secondly, we address these challenges by proposing a novel method that integrate Multimodal Incongruities via Contrastive Learning (MICL) for multimodal sarcasm detection. Specifically, we first leverage incongruity to drive multi-view learning from three views: token-patch, entity-object, and sentiment. Then, we introduce extensive data augmentation to mitigate the biased learning of the textual modality. Additionally, we construct a test set, SPMSD, which consists potential spurious correlations to evaluate the the model’s generalizability. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of MICL on benchmark datasets, along with the analyses showcasing MICL’s advancement in mitigating the effect of spurious correlation. The generalization of knowledge is a necessary part of every scientific field. Meta-analysis is already advocated as a tool for generalization in different areas such as medicine, psychology, business, and this process is already standardized for them. software engineering started using meta-analysis as a tool for aggregating results from families of experiments, but not so long for generalization of results coming from different studies, and for this purpose, the meta-analytical approach is not yet clarified. In this paper, we attempt to systematize the application of meta-analysis as a secondary study to the software engineering field suggesting our preliminary protocol. To see the reliability of the proposed protocol we conducted several studies using it. Following even uniform protocol with these studies, we identified the issues preventing the wide usage of meta-analysis in software engineering and proposed our solutions for them.

This study presents the effects of Tx./Rx. pointing errors on the performance efficiency of local area optical wireless communication networks. The received signal power and max Q factor are measured in the presence of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) bias current and modulation current at maximum propagation distance for the wireless network. The signal is enhanced with increasing of bias and modulation peak currents of the VCSEL device. The optimum received power and max. Q factor is also examined at Tx./Rx. the pointing error of 0.1 mrad and propagation reach of 5 km at available bit rates transmission of 10 Gb/s. © 2021 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.

Requirement elicitation (RE) is a cognitively challenging and time-consuming task in software development due to the numerous challenges associated with it including conflicting requirements, unspoken, or assumed requirements, difficulty meeting with relevant stakeholders, stakeholder resistance to change, and not enough time set aside for meetings with all stakeholders. The prime causes of software implementation failure have been identified as inadequacies in the treatment of requirements. Without collecting the quality requirement, cannot achieve the goal of a quality software product. Through identifying the success factors affecting requirement elicitation, the paths to the quality requirements can be identified. The success factors identify through this research are experience, business analyst skills, stakeholder relationship, organizational elicitation process. This study aims to identify the factors affecting requirement elicitation based on the data collected from business analysts and similar positions in the software industry through a survey, interviews, and analyzed data to provide the initial validation for the identified factors. Through the analysis, we identified the main factors affecting successful requirement elicitation with a perfect significance value of less than 0.05 for all factors.

Heart failure occurs when the heart's lower cham-bers (ventricles) weaken and can't pump blood effectively. The heart contains 2 ventricles that are left and right. When left ventricular failure occurs, it causes shortness of breath and fatigue, and when right ventricular failure occurs, it causes peripheral and abdominal fluid accumulation. Heart failure is a disorder in breathing and oxygen supply to the whole body. As we know, Heart is responsible for circulating blood all over the body parts. When it stops pumping, blood can no longer circulate effectively causing fluid to build up in the lungs causing difficulty in breathing and in the legs, causing swelling. The fluid buildup can cause shortness of breath and swelling of the legs and feet. As a result, fluctuation in breathing takes place and, in the end, the patient dies. This study investigates the use of machine learning tools, like k-Nearest Neighbors, Decision Trees, Naïve Bayes, and Random Forests, to identify heart failure. We are proposing a model for Heart Failure Prediction using a machine learning algorithm and a dataset to determine the performance in terms of accuracy. As a result, the Random Forest classifier along with the SMOTE operator provides the highest accuracy of 91.12%, precision of 87.88%, recall of 95.39%, and F1 measure of 91.48% among the models considered. This research is a very important contribution to healthcare for effective predictions of this disease, as the number of patients is increasing day by day. The results hold significance for future modifications too in medical diagnostics and helping material for more accurate detection methodologies.

Attribute-based encryption that supports computation outsourcing has been a promising approach to implement fine-grained access control in the Internet of Things (IoT). However, existing outsourcing schemes only focus on minimizing lightweight computation on user terminals while overlooking the significant computational burden faced by outsourcing devices. In IoT scenarios with a large volume of concurrent outsourcing requests, such burden can overwhelm outsourcing devices, leading to inefficient decryption execution. This paper, for the first time, proposes ORR-CP-ABE, an outsourced attribute-based encryption scheme with decryption results reuse. In ORR-CP-ABE, users with equivalent access privileges are grouped and issued group-oriented translation keys. Through translation, outsourcing devices can directly reuse previously calculated decryption results of other group members, eliminating redundant outsourced task execution. To further alleviate the burden on outsourcing devices, we use Named Data Networking as the underlying network layer to deploy translation functions and distributed caching for results reuse in the edge network. Furthermore, the reuse behavior in our scheme is configured to be under the control of both the data owner and the initial invoker of results. The security analysis proves the security of ORR-CP-ABE. Performance analysis indicates that it significantly reduces the burden on outsourcing devices and improves decryption efficiency by up to 90% compared to the baseline. © 2024, The Authors. This research study examines the evolving ecosystem of network applications for enhancing connectivity and performance in 5G and beyond (B5G) networks. The objective is to streamline large-scale deployment of vertical applications through a middleware layer, facilitating interactions among network operators and third parties based on varying trust levels. The proposed model addresses the complexity and computational demands of enabling adaptable, secure, and scalable applications for diverse 5G platforms. In particular, this study highlights the 5G-EPICENTRE project, which enables traffic management and dynamic control, especially for missioncritical Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) applications. By optimizing resource allocation, the model reduces computational costs while meeting the unique demands of PPDR services, such as high-quality video and data for emergency operations. The model's effectiveness will be evaluated through experiments leveraging 5G Core (5GC) control-plane capabilities, with a focus on quality of service (QoS) and latency. Practical limitations, including the integration challenges of multi-network APIs, are discussed in the conclusion.
