Novel 1-$\varphi$ High-Voltage Boosting Transformerless Inverter Topology with Optimal Power Components and Negligible Leakage Currents

Inverter topologies for integrating a rooftop photovoltaic (PV) unit into a microgrid are becoming increasingly complex. This paper proposes a high-voltage boosting transformerless inverter (HVBTI) topology for enhancing such applications. The coupled inductor-based high voltage gain feature of the HVBTI configuration allows power to be delivered into the grid from a lower voltage PV source without using higher duties. In addition, HVBTI suppresses leakage current as the common connection shared between the

terminal of the PV source and the grid neutral point. In comparison to existing topologies, the HVBTI topology uses a compact pulse width modulation strategy to control only six controllable switching devices. Again, using lower-rated switching devices is more cost-effective while increasing reliability and efficiency. In a laboratory prototype of a 1 kVA grid integrated system, the proposed HVBTI configuration is validated, and the maximum efficiency of the HVBTI is estimated at approximately 95%. Author

Keeping track of time is regarded as an essential human behavior. The question of how the brain deals with temporal information remains a subject of scholarly debate. The current investigation aims to explore the mechanism underlying time perception by extracting fractal dimension from an electroencephalogram (EEG) signal and its frequency bands. To accomplish this, Higuchi’s fractal dimension was calculated for 42 healthy subjects’ electroencephalogram (EEG) signal and its sub-bands during the time perception task. The EEG signal was recorded from 19 channels. Subsequently, a statistical analysis was conducted to compare participants who underestimated versus those who overestimated the elapsed time and significantly different channels were presented. The findings suggest an elevated level of fractal dimensionality in persons who displayed a tendency to overestimate time. The EEG signal and Gamma rhythm emerged as the most distinguishing signals between the two cohorts. The contrast in fractal dimension between the two groups was predominantly apparent in the parietal and central channels. To summarize, an increased level of complexity is discernible in the EEG signal and high-frequency rhythms when there is an overestimation of temporal duration. It can be asserted that the employment of FD yields presents an exceptional approach to comprehending cerebral functionalities, notably temporal perception. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

During the past few years, especially after the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, researchers have devoted their efforts in improving the global health sector by supporting it with the latest technologies. Among these technologies, we often hear about Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) and blockchain in the effort of facilitating the patients and medical staff to preserve their security and confidentiality of the patient data and protect it from every hacking attempt to steal or falsify. In fact, during just the last three years alone, dozens of new schemes have been proposed in the literature for the integration of blockchain with IoMT for the healthcare field. Therefore, we present in this paper a review of some the notable works in this area. This study addresses the critical issue of child abuse in digital communications by developing advanced machine learning and deep learning models for detecting child abusive texts in the Bengali language on online platforms. The primary goal of this research is to contribute to child abuse prevention by creating an effective tool for accurately identifying abusive content. Utilizing a combination of natural language processing (NLP) techniques and deep learning algorithms, this model distinguishes between abusive and non-abusive text. The dataset, comprising manually collected and labeled comments and posts from social media sites, is categorized into Positive, Neutral, and Negative classes. For model development, a variety of machine learning algorithms including RF, DT, and SVM, alongside deep learning approaches such as LSTM and CNN, were tested. The performance of the proposed model was assessed using precision, recall, and F1 score metrics. The findings reveal that the model performs with high accuracy in classifying abusive text in Bengali, offering significant potential as a tool for effective child abuse identification and prevention. © 2024 IEEE.

Breast cancer is the main lead of women's cancer-related mortalities. Therefore, early detection is imperative for preventing breast cancer from developing to advanced stages. Moreover, the emergence of computer-aided diagnosis systems combined with Deep Learning techniques improve breast cancer diagnosis at its early stages. This study proposes a system for classifying mammogram images scanned from different views based on Deep learning techniques. In this paper, we propose combining four pre-trained models in one system employing the Transfer Learning technique with different input images of the same lesion. This proposed system provides a binary classification of the lesion into malignant or benign classes. The Mini-DDSM dataset images were used in this study;the images were pre-processed and augmented to achieve the best results. Several well-known pre-trained models for image classification (ResNet, Xception, DenseNet, MobileNet, and Inception) were experimented with for the proposed model construction. The study results showed that our proposed model achieved an accuracy of 94.18%, a precision of 94.26%, a recall of 94.16%, and an F1-Score of 94.21%, outperforming the pre-trained model on classifying mammogram images of the same dataset. © 2024 IEEE.

This study presents an overview on intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)-enabled sensing and communication for the forthcoming sixth-generation(6G) wireless networks, in which IRSs are strategically deployed to proactively reconfigure wireless environments to improve both sensing and communication(S&C) performance. First, we exploit a single IRS to enable wireless sensing in the base station's(BS's) non-line-of-sight(NLoS) area. In particular, we present three IRS-enabled NLoS target sensing architectures with fully-passive, semi-passive, and active IRSs, respectively. We compare their pros and cons by analyzing the fundamental sensing performance limits for target detection and parameter estimation. Next, we consider a single IRS to facilitate integrated sensing and communication(ISAC), in which the transmit signals at the BS are used for achieving both S&C functionalities, aided by the IRS through reflective beamforming. We present joint transmit signal and receiver processing designs for realizing efficient ISAC, and jointly optimize the transmit beamforming at the BS and reflective beamforming at the IRS to balance the fundamental performance tradeoff between S&C. Furthermore, we discuss multi-IRS networked ISAC, by particularly focusing on multi-IRS-enabled multi-link ISAC, multi-region ISAC, and ISAC signal routing, respectively. Finally, we highlight various promising research topics in this area to motivate future work.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) is one of the most common neuropsychiatric disorders in children,with core symptoms of inattention,impulsivity,and *** a result,early detection and treatment are *** this point,ADHD can be diagnosed using an electroencephalogram(EEG).This study proposes a model for identifying the EEG of children with *** proposed model is made up of three parts:temporal convolutional blocks,spatial convolutional blocks,and Long Short Term Memory(LSTM),and because EEG contains more temporal information than other data,we build a model that can extract more temporal *** study included 24 subjects,including 12 children with ADHD and12 normal *** experimental results show that our proposed model outperforms Support Vector Machine(SVM) and EEGNet,with our model achieving correct classification rates of 92.29%,92.76%,and 90.91% on the three backs,respectively,and 94.25% on the full data,demonstrating the model's feasibility and applicability to the ADHD recognition problem.

Performing an object detection task after the restoration of a hazy image, or rather detecting with the network backbone directly, will result in the inclusion of information mixed with dehazing, which tends to interfere with detection performance. To address these issues, we propose a novel framework for detecting objects in dehazed images via Dual Cross-Stage Partial Learning (DCSP). Specifically, we introduce a Cross-Stage Partial (CSP) module for extracting clean feature information after dehazing. Secondly, to enhance data integrity, we employ a skip-input strategy to supplement information related to object detection features that may be lost during the dehazing task, while avoiding the gradient vanishing problem. In addition, CSP is also introduced to facilitate comprehensive learning of multiple feature representations. Finally, to avoid the inclusion of irrelevant dehazing information in detection, we apply a Ground-Truth Flow at detection network (at dark3), for fine feature information calibration. Additionally, we created a synthetic fog dataset to expand the training data for DCSP. Experimental results on both synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method. The code is available at https://***/zhaojinbiao/DCSP. © 2024 IEEE.
