—Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have emerged as the potential aerial base stations (BSs) to improve terrestrial communications. However, the limited onboard energy and antenna power of a UAV restrict its communication range and transmission capability. To address these limitations, this work employs collaborative beamforming through a UAV-enabled virtual antenna array to improve transmission performance from the UAV to terrestrial mobile users, under interference from non-associated BSs and dynamic channel conditions. Specifically, we introduce a memory-based random walk model to more accurately depict the mobility patterns of terrestrial mobile users. Following this, we formulate a multi-objective optimization problem (MOP) focused on maximizing the transmission rate while minimizing the flight energy consumption of the UAV swarm. Given the NP-hard nature of the formulated MOP and the highly dynamic environment, we transform this problem into a multi-objective Markov decision process and propose an improved evolutionary multi-objective reinforcement learning algorithm. Specifically, this algorithm introduces an evolutionary learning approach to obtain the approximate Pareto set for the formulated MOP. Moreover, the algorithm incorporates a long short-term memory network and hyper-sphere-based task selection method to discern the movement patterns of terrestrial mobile users and improve the diversity of the obtained Pareto set. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively generates a diverse range of non-dominated policies and outperforms existing methods. Additional simulations demonstrate the scalability and robustness of the proposed CB-based method under different system parameters and various unexpected circumstances. © 2025 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. Each group in a data-driven automobile network has its cluster head. A group can communicate with each other and members of other groups once it has been founded. Vehicles belonging to each group near the other group allow intergroup communication. Because nodes in automotive networks move so quickly, routing in these networks is a complex problem to solve. Each cluster in hierarchical clustering can be partitioned into multiple sub-clusters. Put another way, and the data is stored in a cluster, which is then divided into more clusters. The data is stored directly in separate clusters in non-hierarchical approaches. A dendrogram is a type of hierarchical tree. We anticipate increasing information sharing in clusters by properly clustering vehicles on the road and establishing clusters of the desired size in the relevant dendrogram. We can select clusters of the necessary extent and compare the Quality of Service (QoS) network's outcomes by breaking the dendrogram at different levels. The findings reveal that the suggested method outperforms AIVISN in delay, PDR, overhead, and Drooped packets compared to AIVISN, 7.12%, 12.21%,8.32%, and 7.34%, respectively. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

In many scenarios, most power electronics simulation tools cannot accurately track the output performance of modular multilevel converters (MMCs) during experimental verification. Therefore, this paper presents a digital twin (DT)-driven method leveraging hardware information to improve the simulation precision of MMCs. This DT model, which is developed on the Python/PSCAD co-simulation platform, not only facilitates the processing of experimental data, but also realizes the automatic control of simulation. The design principle of the proposed model is demonstrated using a physical three-phase MMC with carrier phase-shifted pulsewidth modulation (CPS-PWM). The results prove that compared with the traditional simulation model, the voltage and current performance of the DT model aligns more closely with that of the physical system. © 2024 IEEE.

Blockchain-based decentralized applications (DApps) offer enhanced security and decentralization features;nevertheless, their maintenance demands substantial computational resources and poses challenges for deployment in mobile networks. To address this, a number of studies have explored offloading blockchain mining tasks from mobile users to mobile edge computing (MEC) servers. However, the existing literature overlooks the fact that MEC servers can not only mine for mobile users but also mine for themselves, potentially explaining why MEC mining offloading has not gained broad acceptance within the industry. In this work, we exploit a more practical case and rethink the question of whether MEC servers lease computing power to mobile users by taking into account that MEC servers can mine for themselves. We establish a game model and apply backward induction to analytically characterize Nash equilibria for mining strategies adopted by MEC and mobile users. Our findings suggest that, if MEC can mine for self, MEC would mine for mobile users only under specific conditions where mobile users possess superior information gathering capability (at least better than the MEC server) or the whole blockchain system exhibits significant network value. We further provide a series of simulations to verify our conclusion and illustrate the impact of network parameters on the strategies of both sides. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Ice thermal energy storage (ITES) is a type of cooling thermal energy storage. It can shift the daytime peak cooling load to nighttime, thereby enhancing the economic benefit of the cooling system and enabling peak load shifting in the power grid. Although ITES has been widely utilized in district cooling systems (DCSs), the economic assessment of its implementation in DCS remains inadequate due to the thermal dynamics and operation strategy. This paper first presents an ITES-equipped DCS optimal operation model integrated with the time of use electricity price and demand charge. The proposed model can provide the economically optimal operation scheme considering the ITES dynamic charging/discharging process, and the change of the chiller's coefficient of performance, which depends on the ambient temperature and partial load rates. Then the economy of the ITES in a real DCS is assessed based on the proposed operation model. A comprehensive case study is employed to evaluate its benefit in comparison with the DCS equipped with battery energy storage. The case study indicates that the DCS with ITES outperforms in the economy, whereas DCS with battery energy storage surpasses in reducing demand charge. © 2024 IEEE.

The administration of anesthesia is critical for ensuring the safety of surgical procedures, yet it comes with inherent risks associated with medication mistakes. Monitoring EEG signals during anesthesia is crucial for understanding patient physiology;however, the accuracy of this information heavily relies on effectively eliminating noise. Decreasing noise in EEG signals is vital for accurately interpreting data, ultimately enhancing patient safety and refining anesthesia management. This research concentrates on an advanced preprocessing technique for EEG signals, employing segmentation, detrending, variational mode decomposition (VMD), and noise reduction through Gaussian filtering, moving averages, Independent Component Analysis (ICA), and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). The study utilized EEG data collected during surgeries and applied these preprocessing approaches to reduce noise and artifacts. Our results indicate that employing the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) for denoising is robust and produces superior outcomes compared to other techniques investigated, achieving a high Signal-To-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 43.23 dB. © 2025 IEEE.
