This paper presents a new design of differential-fed dual-polarized microstrip patch filtering antenna based on dual-mode substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity. The antenna consists of a dual-mode SIW cavity, four coupling slots, and four stacked patches. By exploiting the TE102 and TE201 modes within the SIW cavity, an in-band resonance is achieved, along with effective polarization isolation. The TM10 and TM01 modes within the patch radiator are utilized to generate an additional resonance and facilitate radiation. Furthermore, a radiation null is achieved by introducing a coupling path between the source and the patches. The proposed design is analyzed, designed, and simulated, resulting in a bandwidth of 5% (from 5.06 GHz to 5.32 GHz), a peak realized gain of 10.8 dBi, polarization isolation exceeding 34 dB, and a radiation null located at 4.84 GHz. These simulated results demonstrate the effectiveness of the design in achieving the desired filtering and radiation characteristics.

The joint optimization of rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) and reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) offers a mutually beneficial solution. In this paper, we study a RIS-assisted downlink user grouping-based hierarchical RSMA communication network, where the base station transmits the common streams and private streams simultaneously to serve multiple users. The sum rate (SR) optimization problem is constructed to jointly optimize user grouping, beamforming, and rate splitting. To tackle the NP-hard problem, a user grouping algorithm is first provided to form the hierarchical RSMA model. Next, an equivalent weighted minimum mean-square error (WMMSE) problem is constructed and a WMMSE-based block coordinate descent (BCD) algorithm is designed to update the remaining variables in an iterated way. Specifically, the optimization of transmit beamforming and the rate splitting matrix is reduced to solving a typical convex quadratically constrained quadratic program problem. The solution for passive beamforming is recovered from the intermediate result obtained by the manifold optimization method. Finally, the process of the BCD algorithm is presented. The numerical results indicate that the proposed scheme evidently surpasses one-layer RSMA scheme, NOMA scheme, SDMA scheme, and no RIS scheme, especially in overloaded scenarios. The proposed scheme further increases the SR of common steams compared to the hierarchical RSMA scheme and significantly reduces computational complexity compared to the generalized RSMA scheme. © 2015 IEEE.

Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) can effectively speed up data processing and improve Quality of Service (QoS) by offloading Mobile Users' (MUs') tasks to nearby Edge Servers (ESs). However, due to the individual rationality of entities (i.e., ESs and MUs) in MEC networks, they may be reluctant to participate in the computation offloading process without reasonable resource pricing or compensation. To address the challenge, we propose a Two-stage Stackelberg game-based computation Offloading and Resource Pricing mechanism (TORP). Specifically, we first introduce a broker in MEC, which rents computation resources from ESs and provides services to MUs. Next, we formulate the interactions among the broker, MUs, and ESs as a two-stage Stackelberg game, aiming to maximize their respective utilities. Then, we propose a Gradient-Ascent-Based Dynamic Iterative Search Algorithm (GADISA) and an Alternating Iteration-Based Resource Pricing and Task Offloading Algorithm (AIPOA) to solve the optimization problem. Finally, simulations show that TORP greatly outperforms other benchmarks in improving the utilities of three entities.

Prototype-Based Information Compensation Network for Multi-Source Remote Sensing Data Classification

Multi-source remote sensing data joint classification aims to provide accuracy and reliability of land cover classification by leveraging the complementary information from multiple data sources. Existing methods confront two challenges: inter-frequency multi-source feature coupling and inconsistency of complementary information exploration. To solve these issues, we present a Prototype-based Information Compensation Network (PICNet) for land cover classification based on HSI and SAR/LiDAR data. Specifically, we first design a frequency interaction module to enhance the inter-frequency coupling in multi-source feature extraction. The multi-source features are first decoupled into high- and low-frequency components. Then, these features are recoupled to achieve efficient inter-frequency communication. Afterward, we design a prototype-based information compensation module to model the global multi-source complementary information. Two sets of learnable modality prototypes are introduced to represent the global modality information of multi-source data. Subsequently, cross-modal feature integration and alignment are achieved through cross-attention computation between the modality-specific prototype vectors and the raw feature representations. Extensive experiments on three public datasets demonstrate the significant superiority of our PICNet over state-of-the-art methods. Recent speech synthesis technology can generate high-quality speech indistinguishable from human speech, thus introducing various security and privacy risks. Numerous recent studies have focused on fake voice detection to address these risks, with many claiming to achieve ideal performance. However, is this really the case? A recent research work introduced Speaker-Irrelative-Features (SiFs), unrelated to the information in speech files but capable of influencing fake detectors. This means that existing detectors may rely on SiFs to a certain extent to distinguish real and fake speech. In this paper, we introduce an evaluation framework to evaluate the influence of SiFs in existing fake voice detectors in depth. We evaluate three SiFs which include background noise, the mute parts before and after voice, and the sampling rate on ASVspoof2019 and FoR. Our results confirm the substantial influence of SiFs on fake voice detection performance, and we delve into the analysis of the underlying mechanisms.

Mixed Structural Choice Operator: Enhancing Technology Mapping with Heterogeneous Representations

—The independence of logic optimization and technology mapping poses a significant challenge in achieving high-quality synthesis results. Recent studies have improved optimization outcomes through collaborative optimization of multiple logic representations and have improved structural bias through structural choices. However, these methods still rely on technology-independent optimization and fail to truly resolve structural bias issues. This paper proposes a scalable and efficient framework based on Mixed Structural Choices (MCH). This is a novel heterogeneous mapping method that combines multiple logic representations with technology-aware optimization. MCH flexibly integrates different logic representations and stores candidates for various optimization strategies. By comprehensively evaluating the technology costs of these candidates, it enhances technology mapping and addresses structural bias issues in logic synthesis. Notably, the MCH-based lookup table (LUT) mapping algorithm set new records in the EPFL Best Results Challenge by combining the structural strengths of both And-Inverter Graph (AIG) and XOR-Majority Graph (XMG) logic representations. Additionally, MCH-based ASIC technology mapping achieves a 3.73% area and 8.94% delay reduction (balanced), 20.35% delay reduction (delay-oriented), and 21.02% area reduction (area-oriented), outperforming traditional structural choice methods. Furthermore, MCH-based logic optimization utilizes diverse structures to surpass local optima and achieve better results. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A Lightweight Authentication Protocol for Mobile RFID

Recently, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has been widely used. A lightweight security authentication protocol for mobile RFID is proposed to aim at the problems of high complexity and system security in existing mobile RFID authentication protocols. The tag identity is encrypted by the matrix’s arrangement and combination of column vectors based on column pseudonyms, which can effectively reduce tag computational complexity. The tag is required to mainly store its identity and shared keys, which can effectively reduce tag storage complexity. During the authentication process, the proposed protocol generates dynamic authentication keys without changing shared keys, which are different in each session. The protocol uses XOR operation to transfer privacy data based on the dynamic authentication keys. This method can effectively reduce the computational complexity of the protocol while protecting privacy data. The protocol requires the receiver to verify the random number in time after receiving information, which can effectively solve the system security problem. Formal proof and analysis results show that the proposed protocol has good security and can resist attacks. The experimental results indicate that the protocol has low complexity, which can effectively reduce the burden of tag operation and storage. Open Source Heterogeneous SoCs for Artificial Intelligence: The PULP Platform experience

The exponential growth in AI algorithm complexity creates significant challenges for designing heterogeneous AI SoCs, requiring rapid and cost-effective development cycles. Open-source hardware offers a potential solution by enabling reuse of high-quality, non-differentiating IPs, allowing SoC designers to focus on innovative, differentiating features. Since 2013, the PULP (Parallel Ultra-Low Power) Platform project has been active in designing research IPs and releasing them as opensource. In this article, we focus on the PULP experience designing heterogeneous AI acceleration SoCs, centered on the PULP cluster equipped with a combination of augmented RISC-V processors and cooperative hardware accelerators called HWPEs (Hardware Processing Engines). We detail the evolution of AIdedicated PULP SoCs both in terms of silicon prototypes and of software tools to enable the deployment of end-to-end AI models.

Satellite-based quantum communication is a promising approach for establishing global-scale quantum networks. In free-space quantum channels, single-mode-fiber coupling plays a crucial role in increasing the signal-to-noise ratio of daylight quantum key distribution (QKD) and ensuring compatibility with standard fiber-based QKD protocols. However, consistently achieving high efficiency and stable single-mode-fiber coupling under strong atmospheric turbulence remains an ongoing experimental challenge. In this study, we experimentally demonstrate an adaptive method based on convolutional neural networks capable of directly estimating phase information from a single defocused image. We developed a convolutional neural network to establish the relationship between intensity distribution and phase information of turbulent distortions. We demonstrate the real-time performance of our deep-learning adaptive method in increasing single-mode-fiber coupling efficiency across various turbulence scales and quantify turbulence frequencies. Notably, the method proved highly effective in strong-turbulence scenarios, with frequencies reaching up to 200 Hz, leading to a significant increase in single-mode-fiber coupling efficiency. We demonstrate the corrective capability of our adaptive method for strong turbulence, enabled by the generalization of the convolutional neural network. Our results offer an efficient solution for daytime free-space QKD applications.
