Compared with traditional active power filter (APF), the dc-link voltage of LC-coupling hybrid active power filter (LC-HAPF) is lower, thus reducing the system cost and power loss. In order to improve the compensation performance of the LC-HAPF, many current controllers have been proposed in recent decade, which are hysteresis current control (HCC), quasi-proportional-resonant control (QPRC), deadbeat current control (DBCC), second-order sliding-mode control (SOSMC), vector proportional-integral current control (VPIC) and improved model predictive control (IMPC). In this paper, the model of these six controllers will be first reviewed and introduced. After that, their corresponding parameters design methodology are given. Finally, simulation results will be given to compare their compensation performance and summarize their characteristics. © 2022 IEEE.

Fault behaviors of inverter-interfaced renewable energy generators(IIREGs)are quite diverse from those of synchronous generators(SGs).They show the variable system impedance,the limited current and low inertia,so the proportional brake differential protection installed on the transmission line has a high risk of failure for phase-phase *** cope with this adaptive problem,a new pilot protection is proposed considering the huge differences in both current ***,an improved criterion is presented for a scenario with a teed *** existing protection principles focus excessively on the fault current characteristics of IIREGs,so they cannot operate correctly once IIREGs do not output their fault *** happens when IIREGs produce no power or the circuit breakers exactly reclose on permanent ***,the proposed method has good performance for the above *** proposed method only requires current amplitude information,and in this case the strict synchronizing measurement is not *** studies are performed under different fault conditions,and they confirm the proposed method has good performance under different fault ***,it is also verified using field-testing data.

We for the first time study characteristic fluctuation of gate-all-around silicon nanosheet MOSFETs induced by random dopants fluctuation (RDF), interface trap fluctuation (ITF), and work function fluctuation (WKF), and their combinations. The explored devices affected by the WKF and its combination result in sizeable variability. Because of enigmatical interactions among the aforementioned random factors, overestimated variabilities occur if we only consider one random source each time, compared with the statistical 3D device simulation for full RDF, ITF and WKF at the same time. Notably, 10.78% and 103% overestimations are found for the threshold voltage and off-state current fluctuations. © 2022 IEEE.

In this letter, we proposed a self-temperature-compensation approach for fiber specklegram sensor (FSS) based on polarization specklegram analysis. The temperature compensation is achieved by comparing the variation difference of the two specklegrams with vertical linear polarization state. We designed a fiber specklegram magnetic field sensor employing this method and the magneto-birefringence effect of magnetic fluid. The measurement of magnetic field with high stability and good repeatability has been successfully achieved, which demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method. Due to the merits of low cost, ease of implement and system simplicity, the proposed method can promote the practical use of the FSS in long term monitoring. © 2022 SPIE

In order to support extremely diverse and challenging delay and error-rate bounded quality-of-service (QoS) requirements for ultra-reliable and low latency communications (URLLC), a number of of promising 6G techniques, including unmanned-aerial-vehicles (UAVs), intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRSs), finite blocklength coding (FBC), etc., are being developed for potential use in 6G wireless networks. In addition, to implement over-the-air intelligent reflection and enlarge wireless service areas, integrating UAVs and IRSs provides a promising means to significantly enhance line-of-sight (LOS) coverage due to the relatively high altitude and 3D mobility of the UAVs. However, it is very challenging to characterize system models and guarantee statistical delay and error rate bounded QoS requirements in such complicated and dynamic UAV/IRS-based wireless network environments while supporting URLLC. To overcome these difficulties, in this paper we propose joint passive IRS beamforming and UAV trajectory optimization schemes to support statistical delay and error-rate bounded QoS provisioning for URLLC over UAV/IRS-based wireless networks using FBC. First, we develop UAV/IRS-based 3D wireless channel models in the finite blocklength regime. Second, we formulate and solve the FBC-based ϵ-effective energy-efficiency maximization problem by jointly optimizing power allocation, passive IRS beamforming, and UAV trajectory for our developed schemes. Finally, the obtained simulation results validate and evaluate our proposed schemes over UAV/IRS-based wireless networks.

The transition of healthcare towards digitalization is closely related to the advancement of health-related technologies, including wearable sensors and edge computing. In this paper, we present VersaSens, a versatile and customizable platform concept and its real implementation as a tool to boost research in wearable sensors. The platform embodies the core attributes of the VersaSens concept: versatility, flexibility, and extendability across multiple aspects of hardware, software, and processing components. It features a modular design, consisting of sensor, processor, and co-processor modules, allowing for various configurations. To evaluate the efficiency of the platform, we tested three use cases: cough monitoring, heartbeat classification and epileptic seizure detection. In all cases, the results indicate that the platform effectively executes the applications, achieving low energy consumption. In particular, our findings indicates that the integration of a domain-specific edge-AI co-processor [i.e., HEEP ocrates (Machetti et al., 2024)] equipped with several hardware accelerators further improved the overall execution time and energy consumption of the system. These results demonstrate the potential of VersaSens to effectively support a diverse range of edge-AI applications and configurations, thereby providing a robust foundation for the research and development of novel smart wearable sensor systems.

To support increasing demands for real-time multimedia wireless data traffic, there have been considerable efforts toward guaranteeing stringent quality-of-service (QoS) when designing mobile wireless network architectures for ultra-reliable and low-latency communications (URLLC). One of the major design issues raised by URLLC is how to characterize QoS metrics for upper-bounding both delay and error-rate when implementing short-packet data communications, such as finite blocklength coding (FBC), over highly time-varying wireless fading channels. To efficiently accommodate statistical QoS provisioning for URLLC traffic, it is crucial to model and investigate wireless fading channels’ stochastic-characteristics by defining and identifying new statistical QoS metrics and their analytical relationships, such as delay-bound-violating probability, effective capacity, decoding error probability, outage capacity, etc., in the non-asymptotic regime. However, how to rigorously and efficiently characterize the stochastic dynamics of mobile wireless networks in terms of statistically upper-bounding FBC-based both delay and error-rate QoS metrics has been neither well understood nor thoroughly studied before. To overcome these challenges, in this paper we develop analytical modeling frameworks and controlling mechanisms for statistical delay and error-rate bounded QoS provisioning in the non-asymptotic regime. First, we establish FBC-based system models by characterizing various information-theoretic specifications. Second, we characterize the outage-probability and outage capacity functions in the non-asymptotic regime. Third, we develop a set of new statistical delay and error-rate bounded QoS metrics and control mechanisms including delay-bound-violation probability, QoS-exponent functions, and the -effective capacity in the non-asymptotic regime. Language recognition refers to the automatic recognition of the language type of the given speech segments. Zhuang is an important language in Southeast Asia, with more than 16 million native speakers. Due to the scarcity of data resources, there is relatively little research about Zhuang in the field of natural language processing, especially in the area of speech-level exploration. Because of the existence of a variety of dialects in Zhuang, this paper is the first to create a speech dataset for the study of the Zhuang language. In the experiment, it was observed that the output of different encoder layers of the BERT has an impact on classification, so this paper innovatively proposes to integrate the SimAM attention mechanism with the BERT model. The model uses a phone recognizer to extract phone sequences from speech segments. Then the Bert model combined with the integrated SimAM attention mechanism performs deep feature representation learning on the semantic information and word order of the sequence. Finally, the classifier realizes the efficient classification of the Zhuang language. Compared with Baseline Systems, the accuracy of the dialect recognition model proposed in this paper is 91.37%, which fully proves the effectiveness of the model.
