Broiler chicken meat is one of the most widely consumed meat types in Indonesia, this high level of consumption makes a lot of consumer demand in the market. However, there was a found seller who sells broiler chicken meat that are rotten. In this study, we develop chicken meat freshness identification using a convolutional neural network algorithm. This study used the image dataset of broiler chicken breasts. There are two categories of chicken meat used in the study, namely, fresh and rotten. The meat images were acquired by using a smartphone camera. For the process of cropping chicken meat images, we use thresholding with the Otsu method and conversion of RGB images to binary images to select the area of RGB images before cropping the images. The chicken meat images were cropped into three sizes and then used as a dataset in the study. The chicken meat image dataset was trained using a simple architecture that was self-made called Ayam6Net, we also used the AlexNet, VGGNet, and GoogLeNet architectures as a comparison. Ayam6Net has the highest accuracy of 92.9%. From the experiment results, we can conclude that using Ayam6Net architecture with dataset 400\times 400 pixels has a better accuracy result compared with other architectures and other sizes image datasets. © 2020 IEEE.

Cognitive informatics is a very hot topic today, trying to provide solutions to problems in computation that are easily solved by the brain but are hard for a computer. The information processing properties of the brain are taken as the basis for such artificial systems. The first step of visual information processing, the extraction of orientation selective contours, is done in the primary visual cortex. A similar, orientation based filtering can be the first step in many vision systems of cognitive informatics. This paper presents a new approach to orientation selective contour detection. Oriented motion blur is used to filter for the desired orientations. The motion blur operation is performed before digitalization, using a vibrating mirror. The proposed technique not only provides a very high speed, high resolution contour detector, but also solves the problem of contour discontinuities.

This paper proposes a real-time navigation system for an AUV that takes advantage of the complementary performance of a sensor suite including a DVL, a compass, a depth sensor and altimeter sensors with a feature based motion estimator using vision. To allow for real-time performance of the vision based motion estimator a simple but fast correlation algorithm is used for feature matching. The compass and the depth sensors are used to bound the drift of the heading and depth estimations respectively. The altimeter is required in order to translate the feature displacements measured from the images into the metric displacements of the robot. While the robot must rely on DVL navigation above a certain altitude where vision is useless, DVL measurements can be complemented with higher frequency accurate motion estimates from the vision system when navigating close to the seafloor. A cardiac digital twin is a virtual replica of a patient-specific heart, mimicking its anatomy and physiology. A crucial step of building a cardiac digital twin is anatomical twinning, where the computational mesh of the digital twin is tailored to the patient-specific cardiac anatomy. In a number of studies, the effect of anatomical variation on clinically relevant functional measurements like electrocardiograms (ECGs) is investigated, using computational simulations. While such a simulation environment provides researchers with a carefully controlled ground truth, the impact of anatomical differences on functional measurements in real-world patients remains understudied. In this study, we develop a biventricular statistical shape model and use it to quantify the effect of biventricular anatomy on ECG-derived and demographic features, providing novel insights for the development of digital twins of cardiac electrophysiology. To this end, a dataset comprising high-resolution cardiac CT scans from 271 healthy individuals, including athletes, is utilized. Furthermore, a novel, universal, ventricular coordinate-based method is developed to establish lightweight shape correspondence. The performance of the shape model is rigorously established, focusing on its dimensionality reduction capabilities and the training data requirements. Additionally, a comprehensive synthetic cohort is made available, featuring ready-to-use biventricular meshes with fiber structures and anatomical region annotations. Nowadays Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UlNs) are used in a growing number of underwater missions, mostly inspections of different types of installations such as: telecommunication cables, pipes or oil extraction installations. A field where UUVs are still starting to prove their utility is dam inspection. This paper presents details our first approach in dam inspection. A set of experiments carried out at a dam in Romania is described. Advantages and drawbacks of using a small-class underwater vehicle are analyzed for this type of missions. Copyright © 2003 IFAC

The most important variability in healthy ventricles captured by the model is their size, followed by their elongation. These anatomical factors are found to significantly correlate with ECG-derived and demographic features. Additionally, a comprehensive synthetic cohort is made available, featuring ready-to-use biventricular meshes with fiber structures and anatomical region annotations. These meshes are well-suited for electrophysiological simulations. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

In this paper a multiobjective dynamic constrained evolutionary algorithm is proposed for control of a multi-segment articulated manipulator. The algorithm is tested in simulated dynamic environments with moving obstacles. The algorithm does not require previous training - a feasible sequence of movements is found and maintained based on a population of candidate movements. The population is evolved using typical evolutionary operators as well as several new ones that are dedicated for the manipulator control task. The algorithm is shown to handle manipulators with up to 100 segments. The increased maneuverability of the manipulator with 100 segments is well utilized by the algorithm. The results obtained for such manipulator are better than for the 10-segment one which is computationally easier to handle. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014.

Wood identification is regularly performed by observing the wood anatomy, such as colour, texture, fibre direction, and other characteristics. The manual process, however, could be time consuming, especially when identification work is required at high quantity. Considering this condition, a convolutional neural networks (CNN)-based program is applied to improve the image classification results. The research focuses on the algorithm accuracy and efficiency in dealing with the dataset limitations. For this, it is proposed to do the sample selection process or only take a small portion of the existing image. Still, it can be expected to represent the overall picture to maintain and improve the generalisation capabilities of the CNN method in the classification stages. The experiments yielded an incredible F1 score average up to 93.4% for medium sample area sizes (200 × 200 pixels) on each CNN architecture (VGG16, ResNet50, MobileNet, DenseNet121, and Xception based). Whereas DenseNet121-based architecture was found to be the best architecture in maintaining the generalisation of its model for each sample area size (100, 200, and 300 pixels). The experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm can be an accurate and reliable solution. © 2021, Korean Society of Wood Science Technology. All rights reserved.

In a variety of use-cases, deriving information on user's fatigue is an important step for content adaptation. In this work, we investigate which eye-tracking related measures can predict the error rate (as a proxy of subject's fatigue) during a visual experiment. Data was collected during a 40 minutes campimetric task, where the user has to detect visual stimuli (i.e., dots) of different contrast. We found that eye-tracking measures can be used to train a machine learning model to predict the error rate of a user with an average correlation of 0.72±0.17. The results show that this method can be used to measure the user's response quality. Copyright is held by the owner/author(s).

We describe our approach to the ImageCLEF-VisualConcept 2008 task. Our method is based on image segmentation, using a feature vector describing the visual content of image segments or the entire image. Logistic regression was used for classification. Images were segmented by a home developed segmenter. While in this preliminary report classification by global image features performed best, preliminary results suggest the importance of segmentation for certain classes. We are planning to provide improved analysis in the near future.
