On tuning of ADRC with competing design indices:a quantitative study

Controller optimization has mostly been done by minimizing a certain single cost *** practice,however,engineers must contend with multiple and conflicting considerations,denoted as design indices(DIs)in this *** to account for such complexity and nuances is detrimental to the applications of any advanced control *** paper addresses this challenge heads on,in the context of active disturbance rejection controller(ADRC)and with four competing DIs:stability margins,tracking,disturbance rejection,and noise *** this end,the lower bound for the bandwidth of the extended state observer is first established for guaranteed closed-loop ***,one by one,the mathematical formula is meticulously derived,connecting each DI to the set of controller *** our best knowledge,this has not been done in the context of *** formulas allow engineers to see quantitatively how the change of each tuning parameter would impact all of the DIs,thus making the guesswork *** example is given to show how such analytical methods can help engineers quickly determine controller parameters in a practical scenario.

Technology has influenced the hospitality industry, and the Internet of Things (IoT) has become a focus for sustainability, revenue growth, and problem-solving. This systematic review examined the opportunities and challenges of implementing IoT technology for a sustainable hospitality. Through a thorough analysis of 28 studies, we found that IoT technology has great potential to address sustainability issues in the hospitality industry. However, there are still significant challenges that need to be addressed for the successful implementation of IoT technology in the hospitality industry. Overall, this study highlights the potential of IoT technology to revolutionize the hospitality industry and make it more sustainable. Further research is needed to address the challenges of IoT implementation in the hospitality industry and to evaluate the effectiveness of IoT technology in achieving sustainability goals. © 2023 IEEE.

This article supplies a proposed approach Neuro Fuzzy Controller (NFC)-Adaptive Backstepping Controller (ABC)-Space Vector Modulation (SVM) for a five-level NPC inverter-Double Stator Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (DSIPMSM). This paper's primary objective is to enhance DSIPMSM's performance by the use of strong control using the proposed approach. Given its benefits - including high torque density, high efficiency, high power density, and minimal maintenance - DSIPMSM, have recently been the focus of much research. Using the input-output linearization approach and Lyapunov stability theory, asymptotically stable trajectory-following dynamics are demonstrated using nonlinear adaptive backstepping control. The use of fuzzy logic and intelligence-based controllers are increasingly being used to enhance traditional control's performance and output. In addition, the fuzzy logic controller has a lot of flaws that are presently being fixed by the extremely effective NFC tool. The proposed method's worth was demonstrated by the simulation results in terms of durability, effective tracking dynamics, precision, and good disturbance rejection with little ripple. © 2024 IEEE.

Cyber-physical distribution systems (CPDS) have emerged from the integration of information technology into distribution systems. While offering substantial benefits, this integration also introduces vulnerabilities. The interaction between cyber networks and distribution systems renders CPDS susceptible to disasters. To ensure critical load supply and system resilience, rapid post-disaster load restoration is required. The paper proposes a critical load restoration (CLR) framework in CPDS using a network reconfiguration approach that exploits the existing post-disaster resources to restore critical loads within the shortest possible time. Using graph theory, the cyber network and distribution system are integrated into a single digraph, minimizing the CLR complexity in CPDS. A cost metric is also defined to satisfy network-specific objectives and constraints. A heuristic is proposed to guide the load restoration process using the cost metric within the integrated digraph. Simulation results confirm the framework's superiority over existing literature, which either overlooks cyber components or prolongs restoration with additional resource deployment. © 2023 IEEE.

Parity-time (PT) reversal symmetry, as a representative example in the field of non-Hermitian physics, has attracted widespread research interest in the past few years due to its extraordinary wave dynamics. PT symmetry enables unique spectral singularities including the exceptional point (EP) degeneracy where two or more eigenvalues and eigenvectors coalesce, as well as the coherent perfect absorber-laser (CPAL) point where laser and its time-reversal counterpart (i.e., coherent perfect absorber) can coexist at the same frequency. These singular points not only give rise to new physical phenomena but also provide new plausibility for building the next-generation sensors and detectors with unprecedented sensitivity. To date, investigations into EPs and CPAL points have unveiled their great potential in various sensing scenarios across a broad spectral range, spanning optics, photonics, electronics, and acoustics. In this review article, we will discuss ongoing developments of EP- and CPAL-based sensors composed of PT-synthetic structures and offer a glimpse into the future research directions in this emerging field. © (2024), (Electromagnetics Academy). An Efficient Test Scheduling Method Based on Dynamic Pairing

Test scheduling is a process that manages tests within a System-on-Chip (SoC) to minimize test time by allocating test resources and adjusting priorities. Efficient test scheduling offers cost saving opportunities by reducing test time without compromising test coverage. Since test scheduling is a NP-hard problem, conventional methods adopt optimization or heuristic algorithms that leverage metrics of each test. However, due to the interdependence of tests based on how limited resources are allocated, finding the optimal solution to minimize test time is challenging. In this paper, a dynamic pairing algorithm is proposed to consider the mutual influence of tests on each other in the test scheduling process. The proposed method identifies the available test resources for a specific pair and minimizes the test time of the paired modules under identified constraints. Additionally, the proposed algorithm employs a heuristic-based approach to test scheduling to reduce the CPU time needed for scheduling. The proposed heuristic algorithm sequentially schedules test target modules and determines the optimal test schedule through dynamic pairing. Experiments have been carried out on diverse benchmarks and under various constraint conditions. The results indicate that the proposed method achieves shorter test times on average in comparison to conventional methods. © 2025 IEEE. All rights reserved.

Cloud-based energy management systems (EMS) in smart grids face privacy challenges, as existing methods based on traditional homomorphic encryption support limited operations and are vulnerable to quantum attacks. We propose a privacy preservation method for smart grid energy management system, leveraging edge-assisted computing and ring learning with errors (RLWE) homomorphic encryption. Our approach enables both addition and multiplication operations on encrypted smart grid data while defending against quantum threats. We demonstrate the methods security under the RLWE hardness assumption and validate its effectiveness through an experimental platform simulating smart grid environments. This work addresses computational limitations in current privacy-preserving techniques, enhancing data security for evolving smart grid technologies © 2010-2012 IEEE.

On Learning Deep O(n)-Equivariant Hyperspheres

In this paper, we utilize hyperspheres and regular n-simplexes and propose an approach to learning deep features equivariant under the transformations of nD reflections and rotations, encompassed by the powerful group of O(n). Namely, we propose O(n)-equivariant neurons with spherical decision surfaces that generalize to any dimension n, which we call Deep Equivariant Hyperspheres. We demonstrate how to combine them in a network that directly operates on the basis of the input points and propose an invariant operator based on the relation between two points and a sphere, which as we show, turns out to be a Gram matrix. Using synthetic and real-world data in nD, we experimentally verify our theoretical contributions and find that our approach is superior to the competing methods for O(n)-equivariant benchmark datasets (classification and regression), demonstrating a favorable speed/performance trade-off. In this paper,we present a novel adaptive performance control approach for strict-feedback nonparametric systems with unknown time-varying control coefficients,which mainly includes the following ***,by introducing several key transformation functions and selecting the initial value of the time-varying scaling function,the symmetric prescribed performance with global and semi-global properties can be handled uniformly,without the need for control ***,to handle the problem of unknown time-varying control coefficient with an unknown sign,we propose an enhanced Nussbaum function(ENF)bearing some unique properties and characteristics,with which the complex stability analysis based on specific Nussbaum functions as commonly used is no longer ***,by utilizing the core-function information technique,the nonparametric uncertainties in the system are gracefully handled so that no approximator is ***,simulation results verify the effectiveness and benefits of the approach.
