When a large display produces images and the sound effects matching those images, viewers will feel as if actually there in the reproduced scene (given the realistic images). By adding a matching aroma to accompany such images and sound effects, viewers will feel an even more acute sense of reality. To make that reality possible, appropriate aromas matching the images must first be provided. This study demonstrated that: (1) subjects share the same aromas that enhance reality, (2) the names of contents of an image allow people to estimate aromatic materials that enhance the reality of that image, and (3) people can identify aromatic materials that enhance the reality of the same contents from the "adjectival characteristics." These findings are expected to help general users lacking aroma knowledge to easily select aromatic materials matching a specific image.

Facial landmark localization is essential for robot-humaninteraction. In particular, the human eye is more important because it can grasp a person's interests. However, the traditional method does not consider eye changes from the dataset, so the limitation is clear, this paper presents a data augmentation method for acquiring various eye images and a method for creating a robust eye landmark model with 2-stage training. Experiments on augmented 300W-LP datasets show that our method outperforms performance than the previous method.

The paper analyses some approaches to enhancing user interaction with high functionality systems such as geographical information systems. Graphical approaches derived from the direct manipulation tradition are compared and contrasted with intelligent systems approaches. An implementation of one particular approach, based upon AI planning, is presented, and alternative user interfaces to that system are analysed. Every day around 3500 people die on the roads and tens of millions suffer injuries or disabilities each year; vehicle manufacturers spend millions of dollars annually on research for the prevention of traffic accidents in development of Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS). To solve this problem, the development of a model based on decision trees and supervised neural networks is proposed; it is focusing on the four main risk factors of traffic accidents: a) drive inattentive to traffic conditions, b) not respecting the regulatory traffic signals, c) driving in a state of drowsiness or poor physical condition, d) drive vehicle over the Maximum Speed Limits. The Machine Learning system requires three models: a) neural network for object recognition; b) algorithm for sleepiness detection; and, c) decision tree to issue factor-related alerts: driver status (sleepiness or distraction), speed and traffic signal alert. Finally, the model is put into production in a low cost ADAS mobile application, and it was tested in the laboratory using recordings obtained in real driving tests (n = 200, success>=90%) in ideal luminosity environments.
