Deep learning techniques,particularly convolutional neural networks(CNNs),have exhibited remarkable performance in solving visionrelated problems,especially in unpredictable,dynamic,and challenging *** autonomous vehicles,imitation-learning-based steering angle prediction is viable due to the visual imagery comprehension of *** this regard,globally,researchers are currently focusing on the architectural design and optimization of the hyperparameters of CNNs to achieve the best *** has proven the superiority of metaheuristic algorithms over the manual-tuning of ***,to the best of our knowledge,these techniques are yet to be applied to address the problem of imitationlearning-based steering angle ***,in this study,we examine the application of the bat algorithm and particle swarm optimization algorithm for the optimization of the CNN model and its hyperparameters,which are employed to solve the steering angle prediction *** validate the performance of each hyperparameters’set and architectural parameters’set,we utilized the Udacity steering angle dataset and obtained the best results at the following hyperparameter set:optimizer,Adagrad;learning rate,0.0052;and nonlinear activation function,exponential linear *** per our findings,we determined that the deep learning models show better results but require more training epochs and time as compared to shallower *** show the superiority of our approach in optimizing CNNs through metaheuristic algorithms as compared with the manual-tuning *** testing was also performed using the model trained with the optimal architecture,which we developed using our approach.

This paper provides a comprehensive tutorial on a family of Model Predictive control (MPC) formulations, known as MPC for tracking, which are characterized by including an artificial reference as part of the decision variables in the optimization problem. These formulations have several benefits with respect to the classical MPC formulations, including guaranteed recursive feasibility under online reference changes, as well as asymptotic stability and an increased domain of attraction. This tutorial paper introduces the concept of using an artificial reference in MPC, presenting the benefits and theoretical guarantees obtained by its use. We then provide a survey of the main advances and extensions of the original linear MPC for tracking, including its non-linear extension. Additionally, we discuss its application to learning-based MPC, and discuss optimization aspects related to its implementation. © 2024 IEEE.

This article describes in detail the implementation of an automated parking house model based on ATmega2560 microcontroller that enables simple and efficient parking of cars in precisely determined positions. Described model offers to user convenient parking of the car model. In addition to the automated parking system, the system provides several additional functions realized by displacement sensors and smoke sensors. One of the goals of this paper is to eliminate potentially dangerous situations and collisions during parking and thereby increase safety in this area. The garage house model is not designed solely for parking purposes but also as a practical teaching tool in the field of sensors and actuators. It is precisely in this area that students can expand their skills in designing and implementing programs that can enable all the functions of the garage house - temperature and smoke detection, precise positioning of the platform through stepper motors, display outputs, and more. At the same time, they will learn teamwork, where the functionality of the garage house is divided into multiple parts, and individual teams of students must collaborate to successfully solve and create a fully functional garage house software. © 2023 IEEE.

automation of ship maneuvering in limited sailing conditions usually requires 100% redundancy of thrusters (THRs) of various modifications and their locations in accordance with the matrix. The hierarchy of the motion control system is branched by levels using high-level motion controllers and THRs control distribution algorithms, which allows for a modular design with software, where the high-level controller (HLC) can be designed without comprehensive information about the thruster motors, and the input signal branching and speed limits are handled by the motion controller. But, for certain THRs configurations, this branching leads to the decrease in control efficiency due to the limitation of data on the physical characteristics of the ships and the operation of the motion controller. This research examines different approaches to improving control efficiency using methods of nonlinear predictive control models as a basis for developing motion controllers with decision optimization based on relevant constraints. The implemented branched system is the result of solving two simple problems of ship's motion, which highlight the related problems. The use of different approaches to eliminate the identified shortcomings made it possible to develop the nonlinear controller that combines the motion controller with distributed control of the THRs and ensuring the certain level of system reliability. The modularity of the control system is provided by the expansion of the closed system, which made it possible to achieve an increase in efficiency during the combined mode of operation. The obtained solution of nonlinear control with time-varying constraints made it possible to increase the accuracy of the control with a decrease in the duration of the pause in response to the change of the disturbance within 10% © 2024 IEEE.

Oral cancer remains a critical global health challenge, characterized by high morbidity and mortality due to late-stage diagnosis. This paper addresses the need for improved diagnostic accuracy by introducing a novel hybrid-attention aided deep learning model for oral cancer classification. Our approach integrates the EfficientNetB0 model for feature extraction with a customized hybrid attention module, combining self, spatial, and soft attention mechanisms to emphasize crucial features. The model has been trained and evaluated on both microscopic and macroscopic oral cancer datasets, demonstrating its generalizability. Our proposed model achieves an accuracy of 96.97% on a macroscopic dataset and 92% on a microscopic dataset, with respective F1-scores of 0.97 and 0.89, outperforming baseline models. This hybrid attention-aided deep learning model shows significant potential in improving early detection and treatment planning of oral cancer. TreeSwap: Data Augmentation for Machine Translation via Dependency Subtree Swapping

Data augmentation methods for neural machine translation are particularly useful when limited amount of training data is available, which is often the case when dealing with low-resource languages. We introduce a novel augmentation method, which generates new sentences by swapping objects and subjects across bisentences. This is performed simultaneously based on the dependency parse trees of the source and target sentences. We name this method TreeSwap. Our results show that TreeSwap achieves consistent improvements over baseline models in 4 language pairs in both directions on resource-constrained datasets. We also explore domain-specific corpora, but find that our method does not make significant improvements on law, medical and IT data. We report the scores of similar augmentation methods and find that TreeSwap performs comparably. We also analyze the generated sentences qualitatively and find that the augmentation produces a correct translation in most cases. Our code is available on Github. © 2023, CC BY.

Breast cancer is a major global health concern. Pathologists face challenges in analyzing complex features from pathological images, which is a time-consuming and labor-intensive task. Therefore, efficient computer-based diagnostic tools are needed for early detection and treatment planning. This paper presents a modified version of MultiResU-Net for histopathology image segmentation, which is selected as the backbone for its ability to analyze and segment complex features at multiple scales and ensure effective feature flow via skip connections. The modified version also utilizes the Gaussian distribution-based Attention Module (GdAM) to incorporate histopathology-relevant text information in a Gaussian distribution. The sampled features from the Gaussian text feature-guided distribution highlight specific spatial regions based on prior knowledge. Finally, using the controlled Dense Residual Block (CDRB) on skip connections of MultiResU-Net, the information is transferred from the encoder layers to the decoder layers in a controlled manner using a scaling parameter derived from the extracted spatial features. We validate our approach on two diverse breast cancer histopathology image datasets: TNBC and MonuSeg, demonstrating superior segmentation performance compared to state-of-the-art methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

One of the actual tasks of movement classification based on electromyography is the choice of the most informative set of features characterizing the movements. Increasing the number of features may decrease the learning performance of classifiers and reduce the efficiency of gesture classification. This paper is devoted to study the possibilities of improving the movement's classification efficiency by using the feature space dimensionality reduction methods. Classifiers based on Support Vector Machines (SVM)., Decision Trees (DT)., Random Forest (RF) and K-nearest neighbors (KNN) were considered., and Principal Component Analysis method (PCA) was used to dimensionality reduction. 3% improvement in classification performance was achieved using PCA and KNN.

The multiplier is a pervasive critical component today. However, most of them are difficult to be integrated into an integrated circuit. In this study, we proposed a novel analog multiplier for AC power application, using CMOS process to realize the analog voltage multiplication function of double-ended input and single-ended output. Under the working voltage of 3.3 V, the multiplier can operate with a wide input voltage range of 0–1.6 V (about 48.8% of the working voltage) and a wide output voltage range of 0–2.56 V (about 77.5% of the working voltage). The multiplier is implemented through the current difference between two NMOSs operating in the linear region and the saturation region, respectively. Compared with the existing technique, the proposed analog multiplier has a wider input and output range, and better linearity. It is suitable for AC power signal tracking and modulation. Finally, the United Microelectronics Corporation 0.18 μm 1P4M CMOS standard process was used for physical implementation. Moreover, there is not any BJT or special device used. It was measured that the analog multiplier circuit consumes about 0.56 mW at a working voltage of 3.3 V. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
