Recent works have shown that the computational efficiency of 3D medical image (e.g. CT and MRI) segmentation can be impressively improved by dynamic inference based on slice-wise complexity. As a pioneering work, a dynamic architecture network for medical volumetric segmentation (i.e. Med-DANet [44]) has achieved a favorable accuracy and efficiency trade-off by dynamically selecting a suitable 2D candidate model from the pre-defined model bank for different slices. However, the issues of incomplete data analysis, high training costs, and the two-stage pipeline in Med-DANet require further improvement. To this end, this paper further explores a unified formulation of the dynamic inference framework from the perspective of both the data itself and the model structure. For each slice of the input volume, our proposed method dynamically selects an important foreground region for segmentation based on the policy generated by our Decision Network and Crop Position Network. Besides, we propose to insert a stage-wise quantization selector to the employed segmentation model (e.g. U-Net) for dynamic architecture adapting. Extensive experiments on BraTS 2019 and 2020 show that our method achieves comparable or better performance than previous state-of-the-art methods with much less model complexity. Compared with previous methods Med-DANet and TransBTS with dynamic and static architecture respectively, our framework improves the model efficiency by up to nearly 4.1 and 17.3 times with comparable segmentation results on BraTS 2019. This study integrated an improved equivalent-input-disturbance (EID) and a repetitive control methods to ensure reference tracking and enhance disturbance-rejection performance for a pedaling rehabilitation robot. A repetitive controller ensures steady-state tracking of a periodic reference input. An EID estimator with a state observer estimates and compensates for the effect of disturbances generated by patients with lower-limb impairment. The stability condition of the closed-loop system is analyzed based on the Lyapunov stability theory. Simulation results show the effectiveness of this method. © 2023 IEEE.

To give the potential regulation capacity of the thermal power generator for renewable energy integration by peak regulation, this paper has investigated in developing a comprehensive model for day-ahead unit commitment, taking into account deep peak regulation. Specifically, the investigation entails dividing the peak regulation into distinct modes and establishing corresponding operational cost functions. Subsequently, a mixed-integer linear programming model is presented for power scheduling, leveraging the defined cost function. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed model and highlight the superiority of deep peak regulation in accommodating renewable energy sources, a modified IEEE-118 case has been conducted. © 2023 IEEE.

This study aims to compare and improve the performance of four different machine learning algorithms (Naive Bayes, Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), Decision Trees, and Support Vector Machines (SVM)) in classification problems. The analyses emphasize the impact of data preprocessing steps and hyperparameter optimization on model performance. As part of the data preprocessing, missing values were imputed, categorical data were transformed into numerical data, and normalization procedures were applied. It was observed that normalization significantly enhanced the performance of the MLP and SVM algorithms in particular. Furthermore, additional improvements in accuracy rates were achieved through hyperparameter optimization. Naive Bayes and Decision Trees were found to exhibit stable performance regardless of data scaling. This study demonstrates that proper data preprocessing and model selection can significantly enhance algorithm performance in classification problems.

With the rapid advancement of the Anhui electricity spot market and the continuous increase in market size, there are more and more concerns about market members abusing market power (MP). In this study, we aim to comprehensively evaluate the market power of thermal units and accurately identify market power abuse behavior. Firstly, we constructed a market power indicator system applicable to the Anhui electricity spot market. Then we use Elastic Net Regression (ENR) algorithm for indicator screening and weight determination. The proposed method was validated by using the actual trial operation results as an example. © 2024 IEEE.

This study aims to develop a virtual reality (VR) application to improve the fault detection and troubleshooting processes of autonomous industrial mobile robots. The complex systems and operating environments of autonomous robots make fault detection challenging for users, requiring effective and user-friendly solutions to overcome these difficulties. In this context, the Robot Operating System (ROS) was utilized to detect errors in robots and record these errors in a database. Thanks to the modular structure and robust communication infrastructure offered by ROS, faults in the robots were monitored and analyzed through ROS *** study demonstrates the effective use of VR technology in the maintenance and repair processes of autonomous industrial mobile robots. By integrating ROS-based data collection and fault detection into a VR environment for user training, robot operators are enabled to troubleshoot faults more quickly and effectively. In this way, it is aimed to achieve time and cost savings in industrial processes.

Currently, control strategies for distributed photovoltaic (PV) power generation are relatively single and rigid, and cannot flexibly adapt to the diverse demands of power grids in different scenarios. Firstly, this paper analyzes the adaptive relationship between different dispatching demands, the regulation ability of distributed PV, and the characteristics of the local voltage. Secondly, for different scenarios, the coordinated controller determines the reference values of active power and reactive power given to the inverter. Thus, distributed PV power control modes which can adapt to different scenarios have been established. Then, these control modes can be classified into single control modes and compound control modes according to the complexity of scenario demands. On this basis, a specific two-layer adaptive control strategy and process of distributed PV power generation in a low-voltage distribution network are further proposed, which takes into account both external demands of the distribution network and the regulation ability of distributed PV. Finally, a case study is given to verify the rationality and effectiveness of the two-layer adaptive scenarios control strategy. This strategy can effectively improve the comprehensive support ability of distributed PV power generation towards the power grid in multiple scenarios, and improve the stable operation level of the regional power grid. © 2023 IEEE.

Free text reviews are abundantly distributed over the internet among the standard population of the world. Although online doctors were consulted during the pandemic, many drugs are taken without prescription by ordinary people. Reviews are distributed about the medicines through online feeds, posts and blogs, which are merely helpful in identifying the side effects and their adverse reactions in combination with another drug or standalone adverse reactions. Spelling mistakes, jargon and short names are normalized throughout the medical terminologies using Natural language processing (NLP) and RxNorm from the reviews extracted from these sources. The concept of Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) is used to mine the association rules for the drug interactions when used in conjugation with another drug, and the idea of Adaptive Fuzzy logic neural networks is used to validate the results of association rules derived from the BERT. Inconsistencies identified by the regulations generated were rejected efficiently by the Support vector machines (SVM), Radial Basis Function (RBF)and the system shows 60.11 percentage of accuracy with 10 cross-fold validation, whereas the results are equivalent to the accuracy obtained using SVM with RBF kernel. The data set is reduced from its dimension using Linear discriminant analysis (LDA) by applying the mining process and BERT on two drugs, namely 'Azithromycin' in conjugation with Buprenorphine has Type 'A' side effects, and Prozac in conjugation with Metronidazole shows different side effects. Deplin and Zoloft give very positive symptoms and are independent of dosage interactions. © 2022 IEEE.
