Micro-expression recognition (MER) in low-resolution (LR) scenarios presents an important and complex challenge, particularly for practical applications such as group MER in crowded environments. Despite considerable advancements in super-resolution (SR) techniques for enhancing the quality of LR images and videos, few study has focused on investigate SR for improving LR MER. The scarcity of investigation can be attributed to the inherent difficulty in capturing the subtle motions of micro-expressions, even in original-resolution MER samples, which becomes even more challenging in LR samples due to the loss of distinctive features. Furthermore, a lack of systematic benchmarking and thorough analysis of SR-assisted MER methods has been noted. This paper tackles these issues by conducting a series of benchmark experiments that integrate both SR and MER methods, guided by an in-depth literature survey. Specifically, we employ seven cutting-edge state-of-the-art (SOTA) MER techniques and evaluate their performance on samples generated from 22 SOTA SR techniques, thereby addressing the problem of SR in MER. Through our empirical study, we uncover the primary challenges associated with SR-assisted MER and identify avenues to tackle these challenges by leveraging recent advancements in both SR and MER methodologies. Our analysis provides insights for progressing toward more efficient SR-assisted MER. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

The defense of high-frequency electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for aerospace systems is important to ensure the functionality and reliability of aerospace cars. Moreover, the performance of the system has to follow each plane’s requirements and electromagnetic regulations, such as Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, to hold protection and trustworthiness. While protecting excessive-frequency EMC application is only sometimes taken into consideration, the electrical gadgets, wiring, and numerous components may be electrically laid low with electrical fields, resulting in malfunction of the machine, mistakes in calculations, and faulty indicators. This paper evaluates the optimization of protective techniques for high-frequency EMC packages in aerospace systems through the usage of a mixture of simulation and size strategies. The objectives of the look are to expand an efficient shielding structure and optimize the design to reduce the reflection of electromagnetic wave radiation in the system. A two-layered shielding method with an internal shield of aluminum foil is used to reduce the reflection of electromagnetic wave radiation. Furthermore, the field studies and the simulations executed permit the optimization of the measurements to be greater than it should be predicted. The obtained results imply that the optimized defensive approach makes a good sized enhancement in the defensive overall performance of the device, thereby disposing of errors due to outside EMC resources.

The design and implementation of Underwater Wireless Optical communication (UWOC) provide important scientific problems. UWOC has the ability to transmit data at a high pace across long distances. This essay makes an effort to concentrate on the complexity of real-world applications and unresolved problems in UWOC systems. The key developments and advancements in the subject, modelling methods, and connection design difficulties are outlined. The goal of this study is to provide recommendations for a practical and trustworthy UWOC design with enhanced performance. Finally, a summary of the key aspects is provided to aid in future UWOC study.

Wavelength Division multiplexing a core technology for increasing the capacity and performance of optical networks. This is called wavelength-division multiplexing and allows different optical signals to be sent simultaneously through the same physical piece of optical fiber greatly increasing the efficiency of the network. Wavelength Division multiplexing technology has developed with a higher data transmission rate and network reliability to address the ever-increasing demand for high-capacity optical networks. Recent advancements in WDM tech have aimed to boost the channel capacity by increasing channels sent through a single fiber number of wavelengths. Wavelength division multiplexing systems (WDM) have successfully expanded channel capacity from 4 channels in the early 1990s to more than the current limit of approximately 100 channels through optical amplifiers and advanced modulation techniques. This has ensured inhomogeneity boost across low-speed per-network, targeted towards throughput range multi-terabit each second network rates. Clamp through high through-load websites; the evolution of Coherent Wavelength Division Multiplexing is another significant step in this direction. Through sophisticated digital signal processing techniques, Cod can reduce the impact of the inherent impairments that plague optical signals and achieve more extended transmission ranges and higher data rates.

This paper describes the design and software implementation of a wearable prototype that allows users to monitor the vital signs of COVID-19 patients in quarantine areas. This prototype consists of two parts, the bracelet, andthe Base control unit (BCU). The bracelet is built with ESP8266 and sensors as main components, as well as the battery and other parts needed to fulfill the system's purpose (monitoring the vital signs of COVID-19 patients). At the same time, the Raspberry Pi (SCB) single board computer and GSM/GPRS/HAT are the main components of the Basic Control Unit (BCU). The current work describes the main parts of the pseudocode, as well as the activity diagram for the microcontroller and Raspberry Pi. This paper describes the mechanism of sending alert messages, whereby the system's ability to configure two types of alert messages;(1) physician Messages (these Messages will be sent to the physicianassociated with the patient if one or more vital signs reach a critical value;these messages contain all measurements of a patient's vital signs);(2) Authorize messages (these messages will be sent if the quarantine rules are violated;the patient's location will be sent to the authorized person as a Google Mapslink). Also, this paper describes the graphical user interface for communication, management,. and interaction between the users of the system. © 2022 IEEE.

The rapid increase in demand for higher data transfer rates and scalability, especially in data centers and other networks, has resulted in the emergence of Integrated Photonic Routing and switching technology for optical interconnects. IPRS uses integrated photonics, a technology that allows multiple photonic functions to be integrated on one chip to build scalable, high-speed optical networks. It replaces conventional electronic switches, constrained by system bandwidth and energy dissipation, with efficient, high-performance photonic switches. The IPRS system contains photonic router/switching units that route the data signals through different routing paths and finally switch them to the appropriate output port. A scalable photonic interconnect network that scales to interconnect without performance loss connects these units. It enables highly interoperable and flexible optical networks that can satisfy the increasing demand for data transmission. Likewise, integrated photonics are associated with numerous unique benefits in IPRS, such as decreased power consumption, more extensive bandwidth, and less delay than electronic interconnects. In addition, combining several photonic functionalities on a single chip leads to a small-size and low-cost solution that can be used to integrate thousands of chips into large-scale optical networks. This process to fabricate devices and integrated photonics receivers technology brings the potential for scalable on-chip high-speed optical interconnects and further addresses performance scalabilities cost-effectively, which is required in data centers, supercomputers and other high-performance networks.

Obesity and overweight are significant public health concerns worldwide, contributing to a range of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. This study presents an advanced predictive model for obesity and overweight detection using an Intensive Neural Network (INN) integrated with Support Vector Machine (SVM). The model is designed to address the complex, non-linear relationships between various factors contributing to obesity, such as age, gender, height, weight, BMI, physical activity levels, dietary habits, and genetic factors. A dataset consisting of 28,765 manually collected data points was used to train and validate the model. Through meticulous data preprocessing, including handling missing values, noise reduction, feature scaling, and feature selection, the data was prepared for optimal model performance. The proposed INN + SVM model achieved an outstanding accuracy of 94.76%, outperforming nine existing models, including Convolutional Neural Network (90.47%) and Deep Neural Network (89.12%). Additional metrics such as Precision (93.22%), Recall (92.88%), and F1-Score (93.05%) further validate the model's superiority. The integration of SVM with INN enhances the model's ability to classify difficult cases, resulting in a robust and reliable tool for predicting obesity and overweight conditions. The results suggest that this hybrid approach holds significant potential for improving early detection and intervention strategies in healthcare.

Despite the advancements in irrigation systems, many communities in the Philippines still use deep-well hand pumps to draw water from a groundwater source. Water drawn from this pump typically contains rust due to wear-and-tear and metal corrosion. To aid with this issue, this study aims to provide a solution to filter rust from the water so they can have clean water for non-drinking purposes. Specifically, an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled device that serves as an automated floating water filter using hollow fibers as the filtration system is proposed. The proposed system shall serve as a means to notify users of water quality for possible preventive measures and maintenance work. This device will ease the trouble of unwanted particles and provide ease to residents using the manual pumping well.

The increasing need for the examination of evidence from mobile and portable gadgets increases the essential need to establish dependable measures for the investigation of these gadgets. Many differences exist while detailing the requirement for the examination of each gadget, to help detectives and examiners in guaranteeing that of any kind piece of evidence extracted/ collected from any mobile devices is well documented and the outcomes can be repeatable, a reliable and well-documented investigation process must be implemented if the results of the examination are to be repeatable and defensible in courts of law. In this paper we developed a generic process flow model for the extraction of digital evidence in mobile devices running on android, Windows, iOs and Blackberry operating system. The research adopted survey approach and extensive literature review a s means to collect data. The models developed were validate through expert opinion.
