Understanding learner variability in learning styles is critical for optimizing personalized learning benefits. Learning style, a concept within educational psychology, has been explored through various theoretical frameworks, including VAK (Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic) learning modalities. This study utilized a multidisciplinary approach to develop and test a web-based computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) system, aiming to overcome the limitations of conventional questionnaire-based assessments, such as potential disinterest and unreliable outcomes, in determining VAK learning styles. The study approach involved the recruitment of computer science students from Mae Fah Luang University. It also included developing a web-based CAT system using Django. Furthermore, an item bank based on Revised Bloom's Taxonomy was created. Additionally, the validity of the instruments used was evaluated using the Rasch model. We conducted an analysis of User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) data to evaluate the overall user experience of both the conventional and CAT tests, and the statistics indicate that the web-based CAT offers a more user-friendly experience. The study also utilized the concordance rate to gauge the similarity of data responses among the conventional, CAT, and self-assessment tests concerning VAK learning styles. The findings indicate that the proposed method exhibits an 87% similarity with self-assessment and shows significant potential.

Balance is the result of complex interactions among individuals, tasks, and the environment. It plays a crucial role in daily activities, relying on sensory systems and joint movement strategies to maintain postural stability. Effective balance not only improves movement and physical activities but also enhances overall quality of life. Balance strategies, such as ankle, hip, knee, and stepping strategies, are essential for maintaining stability in various situations and environments. This study focuses on utilizing public data from the Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction on Balance (CTSIB) to assess balance strategies. Traditional methods rely on subjective observations, limiting the identification of nuanced strategy combinations. To overcome this, motion capture (mocap) data and unsupervised machine learning techniques, clustering and dimensionality. reduction using Agglomerative, Gaussian Mixture, and K-Means and classify balance strategies. The results demonstrate the potential of this approach to identify distinct clusters of balance strategies, offering a more detailed, objective, and comprehensive understanding of postural stability. Among the clustering algorithms applied, K-Means proved to be particularly effective, achieving reliable groupings with consistent results. The Silhouette Scores indicated that k=3, identified as the optimal number of clusters from the elbow test, provided the best balance between cohesion and separation for K-Means. This suggests that K-Means delivers interpretable clusters of balance strategies. The three possible outcomes are good balance, A slight unbalance and a poor balance. This innovative methodology advances the field of balance assessment by providing a clear and systematic approach to classifying balance strategies, allowing for better understanding and targeted interventions. © 2025 IEEE.

This research introduces the development and application of a DIY LoRaWAN Gateway operating in the 925MHz frequency band. LoRaWAN technology is well-known for its long-range communication capabilities and low power consumption. Currently, it has a limited user base compared to Wi-Fi due to the high cost of gateways in the market. Consequently, existing gateways have been customized to be compatible with cost-effective devices. Therefore, we propose a cost-effective, medium-sized, customizable design that significantly reduces costs. For this development, Raspberry Pi 4 is used as the main processing unit integrated with the SX1302 module. We configure the gateway to facilitate smooth communication between EndNode gateways and NetworkServer and ensure flexibility in component format adjustments to meet the requirements of various projects. The objective of this project is to make low-cost LoRaWAN Gateways accessible through efficient and cost-effective solutions, serving as excellent mediators for communication. These gateways can be self-built and cater to diverse target groups such as individual users, manufacturers, and smart farm owners. The aim is to facilitate widespread convenience in usage and promote innovation in IoT applications.

Dementia (DM) and heart failure (HF) are prevalent and concerning medical conditions among older adults. Several studies indicate that individuals with HF have more risk of developing DM, underscoring the significant correlation between these two conditions. This proposed classification model employed Extra Trees (ETs) to develop a classification model for dementia and heart failure from electronic health records from Chiangrai Prachanukroh Hospital in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand, totally 4,297 records. The imbalanced data was addressed by using Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique for Nominal and Continuous (SMOTENC). Its performance was evaluated against other methods, including Decision Trees (DT), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machines (SVM), Random Forest (RF), Gradient Boosting (GB), and Adaptive Boosting (AB). The findings indicated that the proposed ET model surpasses alternative methods in accuracy (89.11%), precision (94.92%), recall (92.50%), F-measure (93.70%), and receiver operating characteristic area under the curve (ROC AUC) score (78.88%). © 2025 IEEE.

Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), is one of the most popular uses in a computer network connection. For instance, wireless sensor networks, mobile phone connections, etc. Growing the use of WLAN, ease of use, and securing authentication process between the user and authenticator server has become an important issue in WLAN. In this paper, we present a system for comfortably and securely which is managing WLAN accounts via the Active Directory. Using an Active directory as the management system for managing a large number of user environments in a WLAN connection also increases the security of the whole system. Therefore, we built a web application to easier manage the active directory resources and a huge useful for the network administrator. The goal of this paper is to develop a secure and comfortable WLAN account management system. © 2022 IEEE.

Programming has become an important skill to acquire in order to meet the demands of Thailand’s Industry 4.0 society. However, programming remains a challenging and sometimes unengaging subject for some students, which makes it difficult to cultivate skilled professionals in this field. Schools in remote areas often depend on teachers who may lack the necessary expertise in programming and require additional tools to effectively teach the subject. This research aims to offer the feasibility of developing an application based on problem-based learning principles to create a research framework and subsequently develop it into a game-based learning application. This application focuses on collecting data regarding children’s learning behaviors during use and evaluating learning outcomes at each stage. The system is de-signed to adjust the difficulty level based on both the learner’s progress and the teacher’s input, thereby serving as a tool for educators to enhance children’s engagement and accessibility in programming. This initiative is being piloted in schools in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand, particularly among ethnic groups and children living in remote areas. The research findings have been collected and analyzed to inform further development.

This study investigated the requirements analysis of a smart monitoring system designed for the rice milling process to improve the process of rice milling in Chiang Rai by using a digital transformation technology with a smart factory concept to support local users for rice milling process monitoring, and improve productivity by using digital technology, The study revealed the positive results of user requirements analysis from questionnaires confirmed that the positive of perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PE) that confirmed to continue working on the further step of the digital transformation process in rice milling process. © 2023 IEEE.

Currently, there is a significant number of elderly patients with chronic diseases or individuals who are unable to adequately care for themselves seeking medical treatment. Many of these patients often fail to follow or neglect medication instructions, leading to deviations from expected treatment outcomes or even failure in patient recovery. The primary reason for non-compliance with medical treatment is the forgetfulness of patients in taking their prescribed medication. This paper aims to present the practical application and testing of the Intelligent Medication Care Taker, a device designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of medical treatment management for both healthcare providers and patients. The goal of this research is to reduce the burden on caregivers and help resolve the issue of patients forgetting to take their medication on time. The main structure of the Intelligent Medication Care Taker is constructed from acrylic, with a Raspberry Pi 4 serving as the central controller for all functions, including video conferencing, voice reminders, and electric door locks. When it is time for the patient to take their medication, an alarm sounds, and the electric lock automatically unlocks the compartment door, allowing the patient access to their medication. For video calls, the doctor initiates the meeting, and the patient can join the session by pressing a button to communicate with the doctor. This system supports telemedicine consultations, enabling patients to receive medical care while allowing doctors to monitor the patient's condition conveniently from home, thus reducing the need for travel and mitigating other barriers to visiting hospitals or clinics. Appointments can also be scheduled conveniently through a website accessible via the device's screen. Ultimately, this research aims to reduce the occurrence of missed doses and improve the effectiveness of treatment, thus enhancing patient health outcomes. © 2025 IEEE.

Accurate prediction of human age based on EEG signals presents a significant challenge due to the complex changes in brain function associated with aging. This study addresses these issues by proposing an advanced Elastic Net Linear Regression model to enhance prediction accuracy and model reliability. The proposed approach was evaluated on a EEG dataset of 109 samples, each representing 1000 milliseconds of brain activity. Comprehensive preprocessing techniques, including missing value imputation, feature scaling, and feature selection, were employed to prepare the data for the Elastic Net Regression model. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the Elastic Net Regression model, achieving a mean absolute error of 4.73 years and an R-squared score of 0.7626 on the test set. On the training set, the model's performance was exceptional, with an MAE of 2.42 years and an R-squared of 0.9404, showcasing its ability to capture the complex relationship between brain activity and age. The model's predictions were well-calibrated, with a mean of 45.49 years and a standard deviation of 15.80 years, indicating its reliability in representing the age distribution of the samples. The results contribute valuable insights into brain aging mechanisms and offer potential avenues for enhancing cognitive health interventions to support healthy cognitive aging and early intervention in age-related neurological disorders. © 2024 IEEE.

Context-Aware based personalized recommendation on mobile for monitoring excessive sugar consumption of thai adolescents

Given the harmful effects of excessive sugar consumption, everyone should be aware of the amount of sugar they consume in daily life. Generally, managing nutrition and preventing negative effects from sugar intake requires a nutritional specialist or specialized knowledge, which may not always be readily accessible or understandable. Therefore, there is a need for a mobile application that can track excessive sugar consumption. This study proposes a context-Aware personalized recommendation mobile application for monitoring excessive sugar consumption and providing individual recommendations (based on a predefined set of 144 rules) to Thai adolescents. The application is user friendly and can be used to provide recommendations to users for sugar consumption and proper exercise each day. Personal, health, and lifestyle data are collected and analyzed to provide individualized recommendations to each user. Experiments were conducted with 140 Thai adolescents aged 15 to 25 years old. Users preferences regarding degree of awareness in presentation style were also investigated. Users rated their satisfaction with the proposed mobile application as very high in terms of both function and personalization. In addition, fully automated recommendations were found to be the preferred degree of awareness among the test group. © 2022 River Publishers. All rights reserved.
