Self-efficacy is critical for improving computational thinking in gaming. However, conventional assessment methods like questionnaires can produce disengaged responses or require additional work to understand the questions and have limitations in the assessment of dynamic self-efficacy. To address this challenge, this study proposes a method using in-game features to assess self-efficacy, which can change over the playtime. The employed in-game feature is the Planning Stage, in which learners strategize and prepare their approach before engaging with challenges. We collect data on the time spent in this stage, which is newly proposed in this study. The experiment was conducted with twenty-five students in the Multimedia Technology and Animation Major playing Tenacity-P to accomplish tasks from a computer programming course. To validate the method, we compared self-efficacy results from the game-based approach with those from conventional questionnaires. The findings highlight the need for strategic planning in managing difficult tasks. As challenges increased, performance measures varied more, underscoring the importance of strong problem-solving skills. Efficient strategic planning directly improved self-efficacy, as participants with better planning skills maintained higher self-efficacy despite increasing task difficulty.

In this paper, 3 phases of IoT electrical power meter is developed. The aim of this development is to create a 3 phases low-cost meter with IoT that can measure the true RMS value. The design of both hardware and software focuses on easy design, fewer components, uncomplicated processing, power component values, and using calculations according to numerical calculation method according to the basic theoretical principles. The dsPIC30F4011 16-bits microcontroller is used as the main microcontroller. The ESP8266 is used as the transmitting device. The information of the measurement is sent from dsPIC30F4011 to the Thinkspeak platform due to the serverless concept. After that, the information is displayed on the website via the dashboard. By comparing with the commercial product, this DIY is cheaper and has more flexible that the user can adjust the function and dash board as wish. © 2022 IEEE.

In the dynamic landscape of technology, the intersection of edge computing with health care holds immense promise, especially in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations such as the elderly. This research focuses on developing a motion detection system using advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and edge computing to integrate with real-time database systems. This system is developed not only to monitor activities but also to analyze activity patterns in the elderly. These patterns have the potential to identify diseases early, preventing unforeseen consequences. Our evaluation analyzes the accuracy of detecting standing and sleeping positions. It demonstrates high precision in identifying standing postures but reveals challenges in recognizing sleeping postures, mainly due to tracking and detection issues in the YOLOv8 model.

Understanding learner variability in learning styles is critical for optimizing personalized learning benefits. Learning style, a concept within educational psychology, has been explored through various theoretical frameworks, including VAK (Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic) learning modalities. This study utilized a multidisciplinary approach to develop and test a web-based computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) system, aiming to overcome the limitations of conventional questionnaire-based assessments, such as potential disinterest and unreliable outcomes, in determining VAK learning styles. The study approach involved the recruitment of computer science students from Mae Fah Luang University. It also included developing a web-based CAT system using Django. Furthermore, an item bank based on Revised Bloom's Taxonomy was created. Additionally, the validity of the instruments used was evaluated using the Rasch model. We conducted an analysis of User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) data to evaluate the overall user experience of both the conventional and CAT tests, and the statistics indicate that the web-based CAT offers a more user-friendly experience. The study also utilized the concordance rate to gauge the similarity of data responses among the conventional, CAT, and self-assessment tests concerning VAK learning styles. The findings indicate that the proposed method exhibits an 87% similarity with self-assessment and shows significant potential.

After China's accession to the WTO and 20 years of rapid development, the marriage rate has shown a downward trend. This paper aims at fitting machine learning models with the marriage-related data, understanding which attributes affect the marriage rate and predicting the marriage rate. The data collection scope includes seven independent variables related to marriage rate such as GDP, house prices, birth rate, education level etc. over 31 regions in China during 2003-2022. Then the study applied three regression models - Pooled OLS, Random Effects, and Fixed Effects - in predicting China's crude marriage rate. The Random Effects model outperformed both the Pooled OLS and Fixed Effects models, as evidenced by its highest R2 value (0.2910). However, based on Hausman Test, p-value of *** Fixed Effects model is preferrable. All models suggested that the average year of education has the most positive effect to the marriage rate while the house price greatly negates the marriage rate. Results show the Random Effects model, with an R2 of 0.2910, as the best fit. Key predictors include GDP, house prices, and gross dependency ratio (negative effects), and sex ratio and education (positive effects). The Random Effects model excels in prediction, with the lowest MSE (1.6610), RMSE (1.2888) and MAE (1.0888). © 2024 IEEE.

The need for ultimate security in the enterprise network is significantly crucial in today’s network. Likewise, redundancy, availability, and reliability are the primary main key to an internet connection. Mostly, network administrators use multiple routers and firewalls in their networks. In essence, asymmetric traffic imposes a serious issue with those designs and in some occasions the network traffic might be disturbed. In order to address the asymmetric connection to the firewall, this work proposes by use of another segment network for multi-routers and a firewall called a fusion network. In addition, this paper takes advantage of the existing enhanced technology such as MP-BGP MPLS VPN. Moreover, applying to the real world is also considered. Finally, the comparison with other network designs and the performance of our design are discussed.

This research introduces the development and application of a DIY LoRaWAN Gateway operating in the 925MHz frequency band. LoRaWAN technology is well-known for its long-range communication capabilities and low power consumption. Currently, it has a limited user base compared to Wi-Fi due to the high cost of gateways in the market. Consequently, existing gateways have been customized to be compatible with cost-effective devices. Therefore, we propose a cost-effective, medium-sized, customizable design that significantly reduces costs. For this development, Raspberry Pi 4 is used as the main processing unit integrated with the SX1302 module. We configure the gateway to facilitate smooth communication between EndNode gateways and NetworkServer and ensure flexibility in component format adjustments to meet the requirements of various projects. The objective of this project is to make low-cost LoRaWAN Gateways accessible through efficient and cost-effective solutions, serving as excellent mediators for communication. These gateways can be self-built and cater to diverse target groups such as individual users, manufacturers, and smart farm owners. The aim is to facilitate widespread convenience in usage and promote innovation in IoT applications.

In Thailand, blended learning was introduced to be the strategy for teaching management during the COVID-19 pandemic situation therefore, the proposed combined model of horizontal blended learning with flipped classroom was designed to help the lecturers to organize the online teaching for their students the idea is to focus on two event activities, one is the self-learning through the LMS and another is the wrapped-up lecture by the facilitator the 30% of activities are the face-To-face class organized for the formative assessment with the students. Additionally, the class is conducted in both synchronous and asynchronous modes the case study is conducted with the Information Technology students who enrolled in the Introduction to Cloud Computing course. As the results, the proposed teaching model can enhance the students' knowledge retention more than those of the traditional classroom with the t-Test analysis show its significance of Pvalue at 0.014 \lt 0.05 the attitude tests of the students can confirm that the proposed model is suitable for a disruptive situation like the COVID-19 pandemic. © 2021 IEEE.

Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), is one of the most popular uses in a computer network connection. For instance, wireless sensor networks, mobile phone connections, etc. Growing the use of WLAN, ease of use, and securing authentication process between the user and authenticator server has become an important issue in WLAN. In this paper, we present a system for comfortably and securely which is managing WLAN accounts via the Active Directory. Using an Active directory as the management system for managing a large number of user environments in a WLAN connection also increases the security of the whole system. Therefore, we built a web application to easier manage the active directory resources and a huge useful for the network administrator. The goal of this paper is to develop a secure and comfortable WLAN account management system. © 2022 IEEE.

Programming has become an important skill to acquire in order to meet the demands of Thailand’s Industry 4.0 society. However, programming remains a challenging and sometimes unengaging subject for some students, which makes it difficult to cultivate skilled professionals in this field. Schools in remote areas often depend on teachers who may lack the necessary expertise in programming and require additional tools to effectively teach the subject. This research aims to offer the feasibility of developing an application based on problem-based learning principles to create a research framework and subsequently develop it into a game-based learning application. This application focuses on collecting data regarding children’s learning behaviors during use and evaluating learning outcomes at each stage. The system is de-signed to adjust the difficulty level based on both the learner’s progress and the teacher’s input, thereby serving as a tool for educators to enhance children’s engagement and accessibility in programming. This initiative is being piloted in schools in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand, particularly among ethnic groups and children living in remote areas. The research findings have been collected and analyzed to inform further development.
