Mitigating the risks posed by Random Hardware Failures (RHFs) is crucial to prevent data corruption and control Flow Errors (CFEs) in embedded systems. This paper addresses these concerns through the application of Software-Implemented Hardware Fault Tolerance (SIHFT) methods, emphasizing compatibility with high-level programming languages such as C. Current SIHFT methods, often implemented in low-level Assembly, present challenges in terms of overhead to code size and real-time execution. Our proposed approach focuses on pre-compilation application of SIHFT methods, specifically control Flow Checking (CFC), to identify CFEs within C-language-based code. We conducted a comparative analysis of two established software-based CFE detection methods in C, seamlessly integrating CFC methods into the application behavioral model. Our methodology ensures ISO26262 compliance, crucial for the automotive sector, offering a software-only strategy that aligns with safety and cost considerations.

In order to address the issue of low segmentation accuracy in the weak flame region of waste incineration flame images and the potential loss of texture details at the flame edge, this study proposes an algorithm for segmenting incinerator flame images based on multi-step image enhancement. The algorithm consists of several steps. Firstly, a single-scale Retinex algorithm is employed to enhance the details of the noise-reduced image. Subsequently, an adaptive gamma correction method based on the inverse color transform is proposed to enhance the contrast between the image foreground and background, in conjunction with the inverse color transform algorithm. Finally, a 2D-Otsu algorithm is utilized to segment the image and extract the target flame region. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed incinerator flame image segmentation algorithm based on multi-step image enhancement achieves superior segmentation performance, effectively preserving more detailed information in the weak flame region.

Because of the existence of zero-sequence circuit, the Open-End-Winding Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (OEW-PMSM) with common DC bus generates the zero-sequence current (ZSC) during operation. If the inverters' tube voltage drop and dead time are considered, the harmonics of three-phase current will be further increased, which will affect the operating efficiency and stability of OEW-PMSM. The traditional proportional resonant (PR) controller can't suppress the ZSC and the harmonic components of three-phase current very well. Therefore, a suppression method based on quasi proportional resonant (QPR) controller and complex vector proportional integral (CVPI) controller is proposed, which can suppress the three-phase current harmonics and ZSC by suppressing the harmonics in the d-q axis current and suppressing the ZSC through the zero-axis closed loop controller. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can efficiently suppress the third, fifth and seventh harmonics of current and ZSC.

Retrofitting coal-fired power plants (CPPs) is a way to accommodate ever-increasing variable renewable energy (VRE) in coal-dominated power systems in countries like China and India. Yet, how to retrofit the CPPS cost-effectively is an important issue to address. This paper proposes a multi-objective two-stage planning approach based on the none-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA II). It considers both economic and flexibility requirements for the power system. At the planning stage, optimal technical options considering investment constraints and technical constraints are generated. At the operation stage, a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) based model considering the detailed start-up and shut-down processes of the CPP is established. Then the optimal solution is selected from the Pareto solution set using the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). Finally, case studies demonstrate the proposed approaches and show the potential of retrofitting CPPs to enhance power system flexibility.

Cardiac Diffusion Tensor Imaging (cDTI) is a non-invasive imaging technique that allow us to accurately understand myocardial fiber structure, which is important for analyzing the causes and early diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. However, it remains challenging to use cDTI in clinical settings due to its scanning time and motion sensitivity. In this paper, we present a multi-directional joint reconstruction method for cardiac magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted images, utilizing a 3D Swin Transformer within the SwinUnet framework, and introduce a generative adversarial network (GAN) to improve the image reconstruction quality and accuracy. Experimental results on diffusion-weighted images of human isolated hearts demonstrate that the proposed method exhibits lower reconstruction errors in both visual and quantitative DTI metrics compared to existing CNN-based 3D Unet image reconstruction techniques.
