As wind is characterized by its inherent stochasticity and volatility, accurate wind power forecasting has become increasingly crucial for efficient operation of the power system. In this paper, we propose a deep learning method combining temporal convolutional networks (TCNs) and attention mechanism for wind power forecasting. Temporal convolutional networks are employed for extracting features, and then attention mechanism is utilized to concentrate on the important timesteps. In data preprocessing part, we adopt sliding windows approach to generate training samples from the normalized data, which facilitates processing and learning for the model. The comparison results demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms the comparison models, indicating the effectiveness of the proposed model. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper deals with the relaxation stability analysis and event-triggered controller design of discrete-time positive Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy networked control systems (FNCSs). The constraints of positive conditions in NCSs bring significant challenges to stability analysis and controller design. A 1-norm event-triggered scheme is proposed for the positive system, which can effectively reduce the frequency of network communication. Since the event-triggered T-S fuzzy controller (ETTSFC) can only observe the latest transmission state after the triggering action, the ETTSFC selects the premise variables different from the T-S fuzzy model, improving design and implementation flexibility. Using the linear copositive Lyapunov function (LCLF), the design criteria of the event-triggered controller to ensure the positivity and stability of the closed-loop system are derived. To relax the sum-of-squares (SOS) based conservative condition, we adopt the Taylor series membership functions (TSMFs) and introduce TSMFs and their approximation error into the stability conditions. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the design. © 2023 IEEE.

Transmission lines are directly exposed to the natural environment and are prone to failure due to meteorological factors. A novel approach for diagnosing transmission line faults under various meteorological conditions has been introduced. This method, known as SDA-ISSA-XGBoost, combines the power of Stacked Denoising Autoencoder (SDA), an improved Sparrow Search Algorithm (ISSA) enhanced with chaotic mapping sequences, adaptive weights, improved iterative local search, and a random differential mutation strategy, and eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost). The process begins with SDA, which extracts essential features from the initial meteorological data. Subsequently, ISSA is applied to optimize the parameters of the XGBoost model. This results in the ISSA-XGBoost fault diagnosis model. The performance of this model is compared to PSO-XGBoost and SSA-XGBoost. The experimental findings demonstrate that the ISSA-XGBoost model achieves an impressive fault diagnosis accuracy of 94.39%, surpassing both PSO-XGBoost and SSA-XGBoost by 6.54% and 3.74%, respectively. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Job-shop scheduling problem is the core link and key technology to realize smart factory and develop smart manufacturing technology. Among them, the flexible job-shop scheduling problem (FJSP) which is more consistent with the actual production and processing mode has been focused. This paper proposes an improved seagull optimization algorithm(ISOA) for solving the FJSP. The ISOA uses chaos initialization and reverse learning to optimize initial population, and introduces Q-learning to change the fitting parameters to balance global search and local search. In addition, we propose a local search model that is adaptive iterative process to enhance the algorithm's optimization search capability. The results of the experiment proved that the algorithm is superior in terms of optimization speed and scheduling results. © 2023 IEEE.

Internet of Things solutions typically involve interaction between sensors, actuators, the cloud, embedded systems and user applications. Often in such cases, there are time constraints specifying the maximum response time to a request. This time depends on the calculation time and transmission time. Existing Internet communication solutions do not ensure the implementation of transmissions in a way that guarantees meeting the set time constraints. This paper proposes a new model of Internet communication dedicated to real-time Internet of Things systems, which includes a communication protocol, as well as a transmission scheduling and routing method. The protocol takes into account information about transmission time constraints, which is used for packet scheduling by routers, allowing to increase quality of service. In addition, the proposed static routing mechanism makes it possible to parallelize transmissions if time constraints are still exceeded. Also presented are preliminary results of experiments showing to what extent the proposed methods allow improving the quality of service in real-time Internet of Things systems. © 2023 Polish Information Processing Society.

The rapid development of blockchain technology and the rise of Ethereum as its representative platform has triggered a wide range of research and applications. However, this development is also accompanied by new security challenges, among which the Eclipse attack is one of the significant security threats currently facing Ethereum networks. In response to these challenges, we propose an Ethereum Eclipse attack detection method based on a multi-head attention mechanism with Bi-LSTM. This approach utilizes the Bi-LSTM model and multi-head attention mechanism to process time-series data, capturing and focusing on the features most relevant to the Eclipse attack for accurate identification. Additionally, we employ PCA and UMAP dimensionality reduction techniques in data preprocessing to enhance processing efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate that this method distinguishes regular traffic from attack traffic more accurately. Compared to the existing random forest method, our detection approach based on a multi-head attention mechanism with Bi-LSTM achieves a higher detection rate and lower false alarm rate, highlighting its effectiveness in addressing Ethereum network security. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, blockchain technology has spread widely in the agri-food sector. In particular, several blockchain-based tracking systems have been proposed. Most of these projects use mature technologies, such as Ethereum and Hyper-ledger. However, other blockchains were proposed recently (some particularly suited to IoT, commonly used in agri-food tracking systems). In the literature, several methodologies are proposed to guide the choice of the type of blockchain. These methodologies are generic, and a gap remains between the criteria used to guide the selection of the type of blockchain and how concrete use cases influence them. Building upon existing methodologies, this paper presents a specific approach for agri-food tracking. Once the parameters of the use case that impact the blockchain's performance have been identified, the methodology allows the association of these parameters with the criteria for identifying the types of blockchain to use (e.g., public permissionless) and the most suitable consensus algorithm. The output tuple \ [types], [algorithms], [functions]), therefore, allows the choice of the blockchain that best suits the usage scenario. © 2023 IEEE.

Hemodialysis filters are widely used in the treatment of kidney diseases. In order to reduce the occurrence of medical accidents, they need to go through a strict inspection process before being put into use to avoid defective products from entering the market, so it is crucial to locate and classify hemodialysis filters defects. In this paper, a deep learning method based on machine vision is proposed to solve the problem that the background of the inspected products is very similar to the defects and difficult to distinguish them. First, image denoising is performed, then the center of the product is located and the circle is expanded into a rectangle, the edge is extracted using a firstorder difference operator to distinguish the background from the defects, and finally the image after the extended channel is provided to the lightweight U-Net for training by online sample sampling. The test results show that the proposed method have achieved 0.78 mean IoU, 4.67% false detection rate and 0.67% missing rate on the hemodialysis filter dataset, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

The glucose–insulin subsystem has been modeled in different ways as a low-dimensional dynamical system. These models consist of various parameters, which are fitted such that the model coincides with specific experiments. For individuals with the Diabetes Mellitus syndrome model-based controllers for insulin injection have been proposed. These controllers, however, require the knowledge of the model parameters as well as the full systems state, which must be estimated as well. In addition, the system is disturbed by, in general, unknown carbohydrate intake. From a control-theoretic point of view, the state estimation using only the measurable glucose concentration is an observer problem. Due to the nonlinearity of the system, its observability is more difficult to test. There may also be some points in the state space, where the system is not locally observable for some parameters tuples. Those issues are important for a robust observer design. In this contribution, several observers are discussed for the widely used Bergman minimal model. These include unknown-input observers that make use of the special systems structure as well as observers based on the observability canonical form with different embedding dimensions. The canonical form is computed by algebraic methods. © 2024 The Author(s).

The proliferation of social media platforms has presented researchers with valuable avenues to examine language usage within diverse sociolinguistic frameworks. Italy, renowned for its rich linguistic diversity, provides a distinctive context for exploring diatopic variation, encompassing regional languages, dialects, and variations of Standard Italian. This paper presents our contributions to the GeoLingIt shared task, focusing on predicting the locations of social media posts in Italy based on linguistic content. For Task A, we propose a novel approach, combining data augmentation and contrastive learning, that outperforms the baseline in region prediction. For Task B, we introduce a joint multi-task learning approach leveraging the synergies with Task A and incorporate a post-processing rectification module for improved geolocation accuracy, surpassing the baseline and achieving first place in the competition. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.
