A stereo vision system has a distinctive advantage capable of obtaining exact and wide range of the distance information. The use of stereo vision system has been increased due to the advances in hardware technology. This paper deals with design of the active vision system which acquires the distance and the direction information of the target using the stereo vision system. This paper also implements the tracker that follows the main tracker, which we call a following tracker, without identifying the target. In addition, the CAMShift algorithm which tracks the target based on the color information is used to acquire the center point of the object. A following tracker algorithm generates the control input that makes the following tracker aim the same target based on the sensing results from the active vision system. A following tracker needs the exact distance information between the system and the target to track the object accurately. We first build the mathematical model of object tracking system and following tracker, design the system controllers, and then compare the tracking accuracy under the two conditions: the presence and the absence of the distant information.

This paper presents the prediction and analysis of a mobility model of people, in short mobility prediction for the mobile wireless network architecture as the essential part of future wireless market trends. To show a mobile connectivity and wireless connection in wireless mesh-network, we utilized urban mobility simulation time with prediction method, and also investigated a large number of mobility flows. We also highlight how to achieve high efficiency by using the neural prediction methods and modeling directly to the mobile wireless network architecture by a software tool and library. Major results of our experimental study demonstrate good scalability and usability of our prediction of mobility model by using a statistical comparison results, and trend of mobility usages.

This paper proposes a new broadband saturated power amplifier (SPA) with a distributed second harmonic termination supporting multi-band/multi-mode operation. The proposed network is composed of a fundamental matching circuit and multiple second harmonic termination circuits. Due to the multiple harmonic terminations, the proposed PA improves the frequency range where the PA can achieve a high efficiency. The proposed PA is fabricated using a 45 W Cree CGH40045 GaN HEMT. Drain efficiencies of greater than 60% (average 66%) are achieved between about 1.8 GHz and 2.3 GHz (500 MHz bandwidth). When driven with long term evolution (LTE) and two carrier wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) signals at DCS1800, PCS1900, and WCDMA bands, the linearity specifications of the corresponding standards are satisfied using the digital predistortion linearization technique, and it attains an efficiency of greater than 30%.

We investigate a four-level superradiant laser whose intensity is proportional to N2 and whose linewidth scales as 1/N2. In the absence of spontaneous emissions, we derive the stationary solutions of the atomic full cooperativity, analyze their stabilities, and find the corresponding irreducible representation based on group U(4). We also investigate the spectra of the phase and amplitude fluctuations of the fields inside and outside the cavity and find that the amplitude fluctuations of the output fields cannot be squeezed in the low-frequency limit, which is completely different from the three-level superradiant laser system. Finally, we consider the stationary solutions corresponding to the partial cooperativity due to the symmetry breaking of U(4) induced by the atomic spontaneous emissions.

This paper presents a sensorless fault diagnosis technique for low cost AC drives. Currently, in order to achieve a reliable fault diagnosis, a high resolution speed sensor is employed to measure the frequencies of fault signature which depends on motor shaft speed. There is an increased tendency toward sensorless control of AC motor drives because of mounting problems, associated cost, etc. Therefore, the speed sensors become less common feedback tools in high performance motor control applications. The fault diagnosis becomes quite a challenging task in the absence of information from a speed sensor as highly precise motor speed estimation is needed. In this paper, a simple and efficient algorithm for fault diagnosis is proposed utilizing frequency tracking method which does not require speed sensor feedback. It is explicitly verified that the performance of the proposed algorithm is almost comparable to the cases where an accurate speed sensor is used. The algorithm is derived mathematically and its efficacy is proved experimentally using a 3-hp motor generator setup.

Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) was used to study changes in cerebral blood oxygenation during a verbal fluency task. Five right-handed male volunteers matched on demographic variables and verbal fluency performance participated in the study. Images were acquired over 5 minutes at 1.5 T while the subjects performed two tasks. The first involved paced silent generation of words beginning with an aurally presented cue letter. This task alternated with paced silent repetition of the aurally presented word "rest." Significant responses were observed in the left prefrontal cortex, the insula bilaterally, the midline supplementary motor area, and the medial parietal cortex.
