Event extraction is an important research point in information extraction area, and news event extraction has a greater practical significance. The existing methods of extracting news event, which starts from the time element, is to identify the date sentences hold by Natural Language Processing and extract the event on the date by Text Clustering. However, they only process the news that holds a time-tag and gives up the news that has no accurate date, which easily leads an extraction deviation of significant events and reduces the accuracy of ordering the significant events. In this paper, improvement for this defect is to calculate the similarities between sentences to put part of the non-time-tag sentences into the right date container, thereby the accuracy of ordering the significant event is *** experiments and compared with the existing methods,the accuracy of ordering the significant events in this paper is improved by 14.6%.

The rich information available in hyperspectral imagery has posed significant opportunities for material classification and identification. The main problem encountered with the classification process is the high dimensionality of hyperspectral data and the low-sized training dataset. Hence, dimensionality reduction is often adopted to avoid the "curse of dimensionality" phenomenon. However, noise generated by various sources (primarily the sensor and the atmosphere) inevitably decrease the precision of the classifier. In this paper, two wavelet-based methods, wavelet shrinkage and discrete wavelet transform, are applied to preprocess the hyperspectral imagery in sequence, denoising the spatial images and spectral signatures, respectively. After that, affinity propagation, which is a recently proposed feature selection approach, is used to choose representative features from the noise-reduced data. Experimental results demonstrate that the features acquired by the new scheme make the classification results more accurate than those without noise reduction preprocessing. ©2010 IEEE.

Skyline query processing has recently received a lot of attention in database *** a set of multi-dimensional objects,the skyline query finds the objects that are not dominated by *** the best of our knowledge,the existing researches mainly focus on how to efficiently return the whole skyline ***,as the cardinality and dimensionality of input dataset increase,the number of skylines grows exponentially,and hence this "huge" skyline set is completely useless to *** by the above fact,in this paper,we present a novel type of l-SkyDiv query,which only returns l skylines having maximum diversity,to improve the usefulness of skyline ***,we prove that the l-SkyDiv query belongs to the NP-Hard problem theoretically,and propose three efficient heuristic algorithms whose time complexities are polynomial to fast implement the proposed ***,we present detailed theoretical analyses and extensive experiments,demonstrating that our algorithms are both efficient and effective.

In the classical computation theory, the language of a system features the computational behavior of the system but it does not distinguish the determinism and nondeterminism of actions. However, Milner found that the determinism and nondeterminism affect the interactional behavior of interactive systems and thus the notion of language does not features the interactional behavior. Therefore, Milner proposed the notion of (weak) bisimulation to solve this problem. With the development of internet, more and more interactive systems occur in the world, such as electronic trading system. Security is one of the most important topics for these systems. We find that different security policies can also affect the interactional behavior of a system, which exactly is the reason why a good policy can strengthen the security. In other words, two interactive systems with different security policies are not of an equivalent behavior although their functions (or business processes) are identical. However, the classic (weak) bisimulation theory draws an opposite conclusion that their behaviors are equivalent. The notion of (weak) bisimulation is not suitable for these security-oriented interactive systems since it does not consider a security policy. This paper proposes the concept of secure bisimulation in order to solve the above problem. Copyright © 2016 The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.

Health has recently faced many challenges, including improving a healthy environment and reducing human life's dangers and economic crises. The last pandemic COVID-19 had badly affected survivor sectors with infection and lockdown exigence. Scientists proposed several solutions to reduce the negative impact of a such pandemic by proposing systems for earlier detection of viruses. The use of metamaterials as an emerging technology in the biosensors field allows a high accuracy. This paper presents a method for detecting and capturing airborne viruses using metasurface technology. The goal is to develop a system that can identify and capture these viruses using FET sensors. The accuracy of the detection is tied to the concentration of aerosols. The model proposes a guided flow of aerosols that positively impacts the detection of viruses through the FET biosensor. The simulation results based on Concentration and airflow velocity delays prove the proposed model's performance. © 2022 IEEE.

In the initialization of the traditional semi-supervised k-means, the mean of some labeled data belonging to one same class was regarded as one initial center and the number of the initial centers is equal to the number of clusters. However, this initialization method using a small amount of labeled data also called seeds which are not appropriate for the semi-supervised k-harmonic means clustering insensitive to the initial centers. In this paper, a novel semi-supervised k-harmonic means clustering is proposed. Some seeds with one same class are divided into several groups and the mean of all data is viewed as one initial center in every group. Therefore, the number of the initial centers is more than the number of clusters in the new method. To investigate the effectiveness of the approach, several experiments are done on three datasets. Experimental results show that the presented method can improve the clustering performance compared to other traditional semi-supervised clustering algorithms. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.

With the popularity of mobile devices, people are now able to access mobile services like website surfing, e-banking, e-shopping and voice-mail etc. anywhere anytime. Most of the services require secure biometric based personal authentication. This paper aims to improve the accuracy of personal authentication in mobile environment by integrating multiple modal biometrics, i.e. face and speech. A specially designed Mobile Biometry (MOBIO) database was used to test the performances. While facial biometrics achieved an average EER of 27.3%, speech biometrics achieved an average EER of 33.4%. The multiple modals biometric system reduces the average error rate to 21.0%, which clearly proves the usefulness of fusing face and speech information. ©2010 IEEE.

Since electronic tolling collection (ETC) allows vehicles passing through without slowing down which improves greatly transportation efficiency, it is chosen as the basic technology for new national highway network construction. The key component of the ETC system is a 5.8 GHz RF transceiver that enables wireless communication between toll booth and vehicles. A 1-V Gm-C sixth order band pass filter is designed in a 0.18 mm CMOS process for this purpose. Based on a pseudo differential operational transconductance amplifier (OTA), a wide tuning range and large input voltage swing is achieved. A common-mode feed forward (CMFF) circuit is introduced to reduce the distortion caused by common mode signal. The filter is implemented as a cascade of three identical second-order blocks. The power consumption is about 456 μW. © 2010 IEEE.

In multicore environment, using multiple threads is a common useful approach to improve application performance. Nevertheless, even in many simple applications, the performance might degrade when the number of threads increases. Users usually impute this phenomenon to the overhead of creation or termination of threads. However, in our observation, the more significant effect is the dispatching of threads. We discuss the problems on using threads, and present a novel User Dispatching Mechanism (UDispatch) that provides controllability in user space to improve application performance. Since user threads cannot directly control system resources, a virtual device is adopted between user space and operating system for portability and efficiency instead of adding new system calls through kernel modification. We also experiment UDispatch through multi-threading multimedia applications. The results show that a skip-line application speeds up to 111.3% and 111.6% on a 4-core machine and an 8-core machine, respectively, and an optimized H.264/AVC decoder speeds up to 18.4% on a 4-core machine. © 2009 IEEE.

Indentification of informative gene subsets responsible for discerning between available samples of gene expression data is an important task in bioinformatics. Reducts, from rough sets theory, corresponding to a minimal set of essential genes for discerning samples, is an efficient tool for gene selection. Due to the compuational complexty of the existing reduct algoritms, feature ranking is usually used to narrow down gene space as the first step and top ranked genes are selected . In this paper,we define a novel certierion based on the expression level difference btween classes and contribution to classification of the gene for scoring genes and present a algorithm for generating all possible reduct from informative *** algorithm takes the whole attribute sets into account and find short reduct with a significant reduction in computational complexity. An exploration of this approach on benchmark gene expression data sets demonstrates that this approach is successful for selecting high discriminative genes and the classification accuracy is impressive. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.
