In this paper, a large-scale human action recognition system is proposed which is built upon the combination of the rising big data processing technology Spark and the powerful Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) in order to fully utilize the efficient in-memory computing ability of Spark and the fine-grained parallel computing capacity of GPU for visual data processing. A number of key algorithms for human action recognition including trajectory based feature extraction, Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) generation and Fisher Vector (FV) encoding are performed with the proposed GPU-based Spark framework. The experimental results on the benchmark human action dataset Hollywood-2 demonstrate that the proposed GPU-based Spark framework is able to dramatically accelerate the process of human action recognition. © Springer International Publishing AG 2016.

The password pattern has become a widely used mobile authentication method. However, there are still some potential security problems since the passwords are easy to be cracked by some malicious software. An important research direction of improving its security is adding behavior pattern into the password pattern. The existing methods mainly used user's gesture behavior data such as the location, pressure and contact area of finger collected by touch screen to build a behavior authentication model, which did not consider the influence of user's posture on user's gesture behavior. This paper aims to propose a gesture authentication construction method that is resilient against the change of user's posture. Firstly, for the posture behavior data collected by mobile's orientation sensor and acceleration sensor, we use K-means algorithm to get user's postures. Secondly, we train a gesture authentication sub-model for each posture based on the data collected by touch screen. Finally, we give a behavior authentication method based on these models. Our experimental result shows that the method achieves an effect of 4.36% False Acceptance Rate (FAR) and 5.03% False Rejection Rate (FRR) © 2016 IEEE.

A novel approach related to query expansion is proposed to improve image retrieval performance. The proposed approach investigates the problem that not all of the visual features extracted from images are appropriate to be employed for similarity matching. To address this issue, we distinguish image features as effective features from noisy features. The former is benefit for image retrieval while the latter causes deterioration, since the matching of noisy features may rise the similarity score of irrelevant images. In this work, a detailed illustration of effective and noisy features is given and the aforementioned problem is solved by selecting effective features to enhance query feature set while removing noisy features via spatial verification. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms a number of state-of-the-art query expansion approaches. © Springer International Publishing AG 2016.

In the classical computation theory, the language of a system features the computational behavior of the system but it does not distinguish the determinism and nondeterminism of actions. However, Milner found that the determinism and nondeterminism affect the interactional behavior of interactive systems and thus the notion of language does not features the interactional behavior. Therefore, Milner proposed the notion of (weak) bisimulation to solve this problem. With the development of internet, more and more interactive systems occur in the world, such as electronic trading system. Security is one of the most important topics for these systems. We find that different security policies can also affect the interactional behavior of a system, which exactly is the reason why a good policy can strengthen the security. In other words, two interactive systems with different security policies are not of an equivalent behavior although their functions (or business processes) are identical. However, the classic (weak) bisimulation theory draws an opposite conclusion that their behaviors are equivalent. The notion of (weak) bisimulation is not suitable for these security-oriented interactive systems since it does not consider a security policy. This paper proposes the concept of secure bisimulation in order to solve the above problem. Copyright © 2016 The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.

Conflict Analysis for Pythagorean Fuzzy Information systems with Group Decision Making

Pythagorean fuzzy sets provide stronger ability than intuitionistic fuzzy sets to model uncertainty information and knowledge, but little effort has been paid to conflict analysis of Pythagorean fuzzy information systems. In this paper, we present three types of positive, central, and negative alliances with different thresholds, and employ examples to illustrate how to construct the positive, central, and negative alliances. Then we study conflict analysis of Pythagorean fuzzy information systems based on Bayesian minimum risk theory. Finally, we investigate group conflict analysis of Pythagorean fuzzy information systems based on Bayesian minimum risk theory. Copyright © 2017, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Despite the benefice of electric wheelchairs, some types of motor disabilities are incapable to use them. Indeed, According to experiments conducted with people with severe disabilities, the use of electric wheelchairs requires a greater customization. As a consequence, some researchers replace the joystick by alternative control such as EEG signals, eye or head tracking. In this paper, the goal is to control an EPW using an hybrid and self configured fusion technique between EEG signals, head movement and eye tracking. As the proposed system targets are persons with severe motor handicap, voice recognition was used to activate and deactivate the control system.

Net-structure-based conditions to decide compatibility and weak compatibility for a class of inter-organizational workflow nets

Inter-organizational workflow nets(IWF-nets) can well model the interactions among multiple processes by sending/receiving messages. Compatibility and weak compatibility are crucial properties for *** latter guarantees that a system is deadlock-free and livelock-free while the former also guarantees that it has no dead tasks. Our previous work proved that the(weak) compatibility problem is PSPACE-complete for safe IWF-nets. This paper defines a class of IWF-nets in which some simple circuits are allowed. Necessary and sufficient conditions are presented to decide compatibility and weak compatibility for this class, and they are dependent on the net structures only. Algorithms are developed based on these conditions. In addition, we show that the traditional net structures like siphon cannot be easily used to decide the(weak) compatibility of IWF-nets.

Location based services are the hottest applications on mobile device nowadays. Indoor wireless position is the key technology to enable location based service to work well indoors, where Global Position system normally couldn't work. The main tendency of indoor wireless position is based on Bluetooth and RSSI (radio signal strength indicator). RSSI is the key parameter for wireless position. But values of RSSI are affected by environment factors easily. Because of this reason, results got from the indoor location technology are usually imprecise and unacceptable. In this paper, an adaptive algorithm based on Distance-Loss model in complex environment is introduced to deal with such problems. The algorithm makes the model adapt to the environment by several parameters which are not influenced by environment. The stability and the accuracy of the algorithm is evidenced by a series of strict experiences. © 2016 IEEE.

In practice, there are many dynamic covering decision information systems, and knowledge reduction of dynamic covering decision information systems is a significant challenge of covering-based rough sets. In this paper, we first study mechanisms of constructing attribute reducts for consistent covering decision information systems when adding objects using related families. We also employ examples to illustrate how to construct attribute reducts of consistent covering decision information systems when adding objects. Then we investigate mechanisms of constructing attribute reducts for consistent covering decision information systems when deleting objects using related families. We also employ examples to illustrate how to construct attribute reducts of consistent covering decision information systems when deleting objects. Finally, the experimental results illustrates that the related family-based methods are effective to perform attribute reduction of dynamic covering decision information systems when object sets are varying with time.
