New approximation operator of rough fuzzy sets

For Dubois rough fuzzy sets, the membership of the lower or upper approximations is defined as the elements memberships' infimum or supsmum in equivalent class. As a result of not considering the elements whose memberships are between the minimum and maximum, some useful information of these elements may be lost in the information processing. The paper presents a new operator of rough fuzzy sets that every element's membership in equivalent class is taken into account. Based on the new operator, algebra properties are put forward and rough fuzzy membership is defined. Moreover, the paper presents accurate degree, classified quality, dependence degree and attribute reduction algorithm. At last, an example proves that the algorithm is efficient.

A novel approach of rough-fuzzy hybridization is proposed for efficient personalized Web retrieval. Variable precision rough set model is used to discover user preference. Fuzzy sets are incorporated to take care of the real-valued weights in each document vector. Discerning keywords are identified to refine a query for more focused representation. To further filter out irrelevant documents for the user, retrieved results are re-ranked according to rough similarity measures. Experiments compared with traditional search engine are presented and experimental results indicate the performance of document retrieval is greatly improved.

Because of the resource constraints and high reliability requirement of embedded Distributed system (EDS), some new fault-tolerance means, which are different from the traditional hardware-redundancy ones, should be studied. In this article, a fault-tolerance method that based on similar resources and related technologies are proposed and discussed. First, several mathematical models of key elements, such as computing nodes, similar nodes and tasks, are constructed. Then, the similarity computation methods and evaluation criteria are evinced by two different views: tasks and resources. Supported by theories above, numerous methods, such as similar nodes auto-discovery (SNAD) and its optimization one (oSNAD), redundant tasks auto-deployment, and reconfiguration policies of fault tasks and nodes are highlighted respectively. Simulation results show that these approaches and schemes can improve the adaptive fault-tolerance abilities of complicated embedded distributed systems. © 2007 IEEE.

As 3G became the general tendency of mobile industry, new mobile handsets are challenged to show more and more functions. In order to process high-resolution images, the high-speed data transfer technology that was originally used in communication system or server system started to be adopted in mobile handsets. It is the purpose of this paper to describe and compare some technologies for high-speed data transfer between camera and ISP(Image Signal Processor) focusing on specifications in the PHY layer, after going over the structural features of the mobile handsets. Most of these technologies are based on serial interface and they show excellence in terms of power, bandwidth and EMI in comparison to the conventional parallel interface based on the LVCMOS technology. In order to verify this fact, this paper presents a comparison of the SMIA interfaced camera module which represents the serial interface (as an example of the subLVDS technology) and the parallel interfaced camera module which represents the parallel interface (as an example of a general LVCMOS technology). © 2007 IEEE.

A new Statistical Hitting Set attack (SHS-attack) is presented, using the principle of statistical disclosure attack for reference, to effectively link senders and receivers of an anonymous system. We analyze previous work and some associated bottlenecks of statistical attack. Thereafter we design and implement an algorithm which has been proved computationally efficient. Compared with the previous SHS-attack, ours improves the accuracy of solution while all the recipients congregate in a small group, and effectively estimates the number of victim's recipients which is hard to get in real-world. The simulations show that our attack is highly effective at compromising the end-to-end anonymity of the system.

This paper describes the design and implementations of the application service based on embedded Linux; personal voice recorder (PVR) which uses WiBro network for data communications and CDMA network for voice communications. PVR consists of client and server. PVR client send CDMA voice data to PVR server located in the Internet through WiBro network. Then, PVR server converts voice data to wave form and stores it. In case of shortage of storage space on terminal, PVR makes user to store voice data.

As electronic commerce (EC) become more and more prevalent to people, it is very critical to provide the right information to the right customers. The EC sites are generating large amount of data on customer purchases. Data mining techniques in EC domain is currently a hot research area. This paper proposes a rough set based approach to obtaining patterns of goods and classifying associated goods into groups, which can be used by the sites to group their goods according to the customers' preference and adopt appropriate selling policies.

Road boundary detection and tracking is an important and integral function in advanced driver-assistance system. This paper proposes an algorithm, which can follow multi-kinds of lane, straight and curved, quickly and robustly. The algorithm uses several masks to extract blobs of road markings, combining with KNN function to remove the disturbance. Further more, road is modeled as a 3D surface, and some important parameters of current lane are provided on real-time by tracking based on Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). The results of experiments, which have been done in urban road, show that the algorithm is adapted to many road conditions. Even in a complex driving environment, it also has a good performance. © 2006 IEEE.

This paper describes the design and implementations of the first application service based on embedded Linux; Mobile Teller which uses WiBro network for data communications and CDMA network for voice communications. When a sender on a dual-mode terminal types texts, the texts are transmitted to a TTS server located in the Internet through WiBro network. Subsequently, the TTS server changes the texts into voices and transmits the voice data to the dual-mode terminal. At last the dual-mode terminal sends the voice to the receiver through the CDMA network. In case of noisy environment, Mobile Teller makes user to voice communication
