This paper is on customer segmentation in steel sales, whose objective is to improve profitability and customer relationship management. The current research categorizes customers based on purchasing behaviors by using the RFM model and the K-Means clustering algorithm. Due to this approach, the company will be able to formulate stratified marketing plans for the requirements and Preferences of various customer segments identified and hence ensure high retention and satisfaction. The RFM model assesses the three main customer behaviors of purchase recency, purchase frequency, and monetary value. This gives a set of metrics that provide the overall depth of customer engagement, which is important in segmentation. Then, K-Means is applied to cluster these similar patterns of customer purchasing, to precisely target market customers. The goodness of the segmentation strategy is measured through metrics such as the Elbow Method, Davies-Bouldin Index, and Silhouette Coefficient, which provide proper cluster selection and meaningful segmentation. This eventual outcome has proved that this combined approach will maximize the revenue potential and enhance customer satisfaction tremendously through personalized marketing efforts. Eventually, the embedding of the RFM model within K-Means clustering offers a robust framework for strategic decision-making and realizing competitive advantage within the steel industry. © 2024 IEEE.

Recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) have significantly influenced educational innovations, making learning environments more sophisticated with personalized learning, tailored feedback, and learning analytics. Among these advancements, Generative AI, namely ChatGPT, has emerged as a powerful tool in education. ChatGPT's ability to generate human-like content in real-time can assist educators with course design and educational material creation, allowing for enhanced instructional strategies without starting from scratch. Moreover, integrating ChatGPT into the recommendation process offers superior understanding of user needs and delivery of context-aware recommendations. In view of the above, this paper explores the integration of ChatGPT with a tailored prompt generator within an intelligent authoring system to offer effective recommendations for personalized content creation and instructional design. The system was evaluated and compared to its conversional version where instructors manually use ChatGPT. The findings indicate significant improvements in system usability, content quality, personalization, and time and effort savings, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach. © 2024 IEEE.

In the continuously evolving and growing landscape of Big Data, a key challenge lies in the transformation of a Data Lake into a Data Mesh structure. Unveiling a transformative approach through semantic data blueprints enables organizations to align with changing business needs swiftly and effortlessly. This paper delves into the intricacies of detecting and shaping Data Domains and Data Products within Data Lakes and proposes a standardized methodology that combines the principles of Data Blueprints with Data Meshes. Essentially, this work introduces an innovative standardization framework dedicated to generating Data Products through a mechanism of semantic enrichment of data residing in Data Lakes. This mechanism not only enables the creation readiness and business alignment of Data Domains, but also facilitates the extraction of actionable insights from software products and processes. In recent years, the Open Education movement has emerged as an innovative approach in the field of education. Closely connected to it are the Open Educational Resources (ΟΕRs), which are hosted in Digital Repositories. Despite their unique advantages, global recognition, and increasing numbers, OERs have not yet become fully established. Teachers encounter various challenges in using OERs, including a lack of pedagogical knowledge about their value, usage, production, and integration into teaching. At the same time, many digital repositories are considered inadequate, facing issues such as difficulty in content search, incomplete content, and insufficient assistance for users. As such, this research aims to maximize OERs potential and utilization, introducing a social networking-based multimedia repository. This repository fosters interaction, communication, and collaboration, educating teachers about OERs. The main goal of the research is to determine whether incorporating social networking features into a repository could positively influence users’ experience, access frequency, and the utilization of OERs in teaching. A quantitative research method was employed, showing the positive impact of social networking features on teacher attitude and intention to use OERs in their instruction. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

This paper explores the transformative potential of combining Artificial Intelligence (AI) with gamified learning environments (GLEs) to enhance personalized learning experiences. Gamified learning environments have emerged as relevant practical tools that provide dynamic learning pathways, helping learners engage better through motivation, interactivity, and entertainment. Integrating GLEs with AI amplifies the element of personalization by analyzing student progress, strengths, and weaknesses to tailor accordingly. AIdriven adaptive learning systems create a flexible and supportive learning environment in which feedback, recommending resources, and adapting levels of difficulty are tuned to the pace of the learner. This stretches even to virtual environments (VEs) that enable learning through immersive and interactive experiences about abstract concepts in learning. Gamification is changing learning with more sustained motivation. The paper, therefore, discusses the possibilities of using those technologies in reshaping education and points to AI and gamification as cutting-edge tools that would help shape adaptive, engaging, personalized learning environments. Finally, it calls on all stakeholders, the educators, the developers, and the theorists, to empower those tools toward more inclusivity and innovation in education so that, in the future, learning experiences turn out functional and enjoyable. The goals should be underscored with the true potential of AI and gamification in democratizing education and improving learning methodologies until innovation is continuous. © 2024 IEEE.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming our world, and education is no exception. The growing popularity and use of AI systems calls for a new understanding of what it means to be literate in the modern world. Thus, it is crucial for individuals to develop AI-driven critical thinking skills to effectively interact with these technologies. However, existing research focuses mainly on the "how"of AI integration, with limited exploration of the "why"and "how"of fostering critical engagement with AI tools. In this article, we propose an extension to DigCompEdu that aligns with the UNESCO pillars of education. This extension highlights five key elements that challenge critical thinking capabilities in relation to AI: "know-what,""know-who,""know-where,""know-how,"and "know-why". By combining critical thinking skills with AI functionalities, educators can empower students to become responsible and informed digital citizens in the era of generative AI. © 2024 IEEE.

This research investigates the integration of a Digital Educational Escape Room in teaching fifth-grade history. The study explores how the Digital Educational Escape Room can enhance student engagement, collaboration, and learning outcomes. The game is designed to improve students' understanding specifically of Justinian's reign. It aligns with the Bloom's taxonomy and involves six interactive puzzles that cater to various learning styles, including visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The adapted evaluation framework assesses four critical dimensions: learning and training, system, user experience, and affective dimension. Forty-four fifth-grade students participated, engaging in the activities designed to improve their understanding of the history topic of Justinian's reign. Results indicated significant improvements in students' historical knowledge, critical thinking, and teamwork. Students reported high satisfaction levels and positive emotional engagement, despite encountering some technical issues. By integrating game-based learning with digital technology, digital escape rooms offer a promising alternative to traditional teaching methods, potentially transforming the educational experience for primary school students. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper shows the development and application of a fuzzy weight model methodology for the optimization of educational environments in augmented reality. A technology-based learning process in an augmented reality learning environment, notoriously able to improve spatial abilities and increase user engagement with the material learned as well as knowledge retention, has revolutionary potential in education. However, its effectiveness varies greatly. In this, we collaborated with 13 experts in augmented reality and education to deeply evaluate the following six key in-depth strategies: interactive feedback, gamified leaderboards, challenges, personalized learning path, AR-based simulations, and badges. Thus, strategies were rated upon the impact on the learners' outcome, and the ratings were agreed upon as a fuzzy set, because it is a subjective matter of evaluation. Normalization was done to get a balanced measurement that gave weights on which strategies are to be given higher priority. Such a model has been developed and implemented in a case study of AR-based spatial ability training application, focusing on AR-based simulations supplemented with interactive feedback. Pre- and post-tests among 30 respondents have shown significant improvements in the experimental group using the AR application over the control group using traditional means of spatial ability training. The results strongly support the potential of the model for later implementation in AR educational applications that focus on individual specifics and effective learning. © 2024 IEEE.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are used in a wide range of applications. However, since they are vulnerable to cyberattacks security protocols for their data are used. Common existing approaches for data encryption/decryption are based on commercial software platforms which execute their tasks with latency and consume a lot of energy. Moreover, they focus mostly on encrypting/decrypting telemetry data. This paper proposes a Field Programming Gate Array (FPGA)-based architecture for encrypting/decrypting all data exchanged between UAVs and their Ground Station (GS). This architecture uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), known for its robustness, to enhance the confidentiality, integrity, and security. Experimental results show that the proposed architecture performs faster than implementations on well-known software platforms while it consumes less power. © 2024 IEEE.

Two-pattern tests target the detection of common failure mechanisms in CMOS VLSI circuits, modelled as stuck-open or delay faults. In this paper, a Reduced-overhead Accumulator-Based BIST scheme for Two-pattern generation (RABIT) is presented, that generates an exhaustive n-bit two-pattern test. RABIT is implemented in hardware utilizing an accumulator whose inputs are driven by a binary counter. An important advantage of the presented scheme is that it can be implemented by augmenting existing data path components, rather than building a new pattern generation structure. Furthermore, with the proposed scheme, the requirement for additional (i.e. control and/or accompanying) circuitry is eliminated. Comparisons with previously proposed schemes reveal that the proposed here scheme presents lower hardware overhead for the implementation of the BIST structure. © 2024 IEEE.
