This work proposes a bit-adjacent Data Background (DB) management scheme to improve fault coverage of March algorithms while simultaneously maintaining the shortest test cycle. Both static and dynamic DB transitions are used in order to detect Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (DRDFs) and Write Disturb Faults (WDFs) that are not detected by previous algorithms. A conventional March Test Algorithm can be modified by using the DB management scheme to form a new March Test Algorithm (referred to as Mod March Test Algorithm), e.g., MATS++(6N) becoming Mod MATS++(6N). This paper shows that Mod March SR (14N) and Mod March CL (12N) can detect DRDFs and WDFs while the corresponding conventional algorithms cannot. It is also shown that Mod March CL(12N) and Mod March SR(14N) with DB management can detect all Static Single Cell Faults based on the Bit-Oriented-Memories (BOM) test method. Comparisons on test cycle time for Mod March SR, March SR, and March SS in the context of memory Built-In-Self-Test (BIST) are also presented. From the simulation result, it shows that by including Data Backgrounds (DBs) management in Bit-Oriented Memories (BOM), the cycle test time is the same after a given multiple of DBs in the test algorithm.

Node failures in Wireless Sensor Networks composed by static sensor nodes are common due to the nature of the sensor devices and the usually harsh environments in which they are deployed. Node failures can diminish the performance of the network as a whole, thus affecting its functionality in delivering the desired services. For instance, significant regions can become uncovered due to failure of several nearby nodes. This paper reports a study about the use of mobile sensor nodes acting in cooperation with static ones in order to fill gaps created by faulty static nodes. The proposed fault handling mechanism presents alternative policies with pros and cons, depending on the user priorities imposed to the system and the occurrence of failures. A discussion about this topic is presented based on results obtained by simulation of the proposed mechanisms.

Artificial Immune Systems (AISs) are composed of techniques inspired by immunology. The clonal selection principle ensures the organism adaptation to fight invading antigens by an immune response activated by the binding of antigens and antibodies. As an immune response can be elicited even when the binding between an antigen and an antibody is not perfect, an approximate binding might suffice, and a Fuzzy Logic mechanism might be the most appropriate mechanism to control such process. This paper presents a novel hybrid model based on concepts of Immune and Fuzzy Systems with applications to pattern recognition problems. The preliminary results obtained here suggest the proposed model is a promising pattern recognition tool. © 2010 IEEE.

In this paper we introduce an adaptive fuzzy neural network framework for classification of data stream using a partially supervised learning algorithm. The framework consists of an evolving granular neural network capable of processing nonstationary data streams using a one-pass incremental algorithm. The granular neural network evolves fuzzy hyperboxes and uses nullnorm based neurons to classify data. The learning algorithm performs structural and parametric adaptation whenever environment changes are reflected in input data. It needs no prior statistical knowledge about data and classes. Computational experiments show that the fuzzy granular neural network is robust against different types of concept drift, and is able to handle unlabeled examples efficiently. © 2010 IEEE.

An experiment was performed for the observation of H emission induced in a cooled laser-induced atmospheric pressure gas plasma of He atoms in their metastable excited state. The strong H emission detected clearly established, to the exclusion of other well known major excitation processes, the exclusive contribution of the He-induced excitation (HIE) mechanism. The process is suggested to take place by means of energy transfer from the excited He atoms to the H atoms via Penning collision induced ionization involving electron exchange. The result further shows that this mechanism may also work for elements other than H and thereby strongly suggests the use of ambient He gas to broaden and complement the applications of standard laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy. © 2011 American Institute of Physics.

Errors in diagnosing the disease is a critical risk that must be faced by any person giving treatment to the hospital. Medical treatment can not always be done with perfect accuracy. Lung cancer is one of the most deadly disease that prone to misdiagnose. In general, some practitioners tend to read cancer in x-ray rontgen image as tumor this could be fatal. To generate a diagnose, a general practitioner use three kind of examination i.e : patient History, Radiologic examination, phisical examination. In this paper, Gray color for image indexing and retrieval are investigated. The features are derived based on the statistical distribution of Harralick feature from image sample. By utilizing the proposed invariant features, the similarity measure between query and database images provides reliable retrieval results. © 2010 IEEE.

This paper presents a quiz game agent who is attentive to the dynamics of multiple concurrent participants. The attentiveness of this agent is meant to be achieved by an utterance policy that determines the nature of the utterance and whether, when, and to whom to utter. Two heuristics are introduced to drive the policy: the interaction atmosphere (AT) of the participants and the participant who tends to lead the conversation (CLP) at a specifi time point. They are estimated from the activeness of the participants' face movements and acoustic information during their discussion of the answer. In order to the inherent drawback of a 2D agent that makes it difficult for multiple concurrent users to distinguish the focus of its attention, a physical pointer is also introduced. This system is then evaluated using questionnaire investigation and video data analysis. The joint results of the experiments indicated that the methods for estimating AT and CLP worked. The participants pay more attention to the agent and participate in the game more actively if the indication of the pointer is more comprehensive. In this research will show a method for sound-recognition with artificial neural network backpropagation concept. The artificial neural network use sigmoid activation function to all layer. Steps to the extraction, first, divide into ten component, second do the Fast Fourier Transform, third continue with Power Spectral Density, fourth count the average. The end result show that the pattern will recognize by the Artificial Neural Network. This paper presents a comparison among different strategies to coordinate the use of heterogeneous wireless sensors aimed for area surveillance. The heterogeneity among the sensor nodes is related to their sensing and mobility capabilities. The goal of the strategies is to provide coordination among the different nodes, in order to make the wireless sensor network perform its missions with higher efficiency. Strategies combine advantages of bio-inspired and utility-based approaches to coordination. Simulations of scenarios with different characteristics were performed and the results are compared and analyzed. © 2010 IEEE.
