Breast cancer is an occurrence of cancer that attacks breast tissue and is the most common cancer among women worldwide, affecting one in eight women. In this modern world, breast cancer image classification simplifies the process of analyzing, providing objective and accurate results. By leveraging machine learning algorithms and computer vision techniques, we developed breast cancer detection. The dataset is histopathology dataset from BreakHis and UNHAS Hospital. We chose the ConvNeXt-Tiny model then modified the classifier head as the proposed method. Before the dataset is processed by the model, we augment the images by applying random horizontal and vertical flips, adjustments to brightness, contrast, saturation, and hue using color jitter. The augmentation process simulates real-world variance and enhances the model's ability to generalize to unseen data. Our proposed model gained better performance (accuracy, F1-Score) results compared two other techniques to VGG16 and SVM. According to our experiments, the F1-Score for the ConvNeXt-Tiny model with classifier head modification is higher at 0.9516, than the gain for VGG16 at 0.9292, and the gain for the SVM at 0.83.

This paper proposes an alternative detection frame-work for multiple sclerosis (MS) and idiopathic acute transverse myelitis (ATM) within the 6G-enabled Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) environment. The developed framework relies on the implementation of a deep learning technique known as Dense Convolutional Networks (DenseNets) in the 6G-enabled IoMT to enhance prediction performance. To validate the performance of DenseNets, we compared it with other deep learning techniques, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and MobileNet, using real-world datasets. The experimental results show the high performance of DenseNets in predicting MS and ATM compared to other methods, achieving an accuracy of nearly 90 %.

This paper introduces an alternative technique for diagnosing Acute Ischemic Stroke within the IoMT environment. In the proposed approach, the collected data is transmitted to a cloud-based center where the technique utilizes EfficientNet, a deep learning model, designed to extract features from MRI images thereby enhancing the detection of acute ischemic infarctions. The performance of EfficientNet is compared against two other models, CNN and MobileNet, demonstrating its superior efficacy through metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, which stand at 92.31%, 92.28%, 92.33%, and 92.30%, respectively.

Developing natural speech recognition and speech synthesis systems requires speech data that authentically represents real emotions. However, this type of data is often challenging to obtain. Machine speech chain offers a solution to this challenge by using unpaired data to continue training models initially trained with paired data. Given the relative abundance of unpaired data compared to paired data, machine speech chain can be instrumental in recognizing emotions in speech where training data is limited. This study investigates the application of machine speech chain in speech emotion recognition and speech recognition of emotional speech. Our findings indicate that a model trained with 50% paired neutral emotion speech data and 22% paired non-neutral emotional speech data shows a reduction in Character Error Rate (CER) from 37.55% to 34.52% when further trained with unpaired neutral emotion speech data. The CER further decreases to 33.75% when additionally trained with combined unpaired speech data. The accuracy of recognizing non-neutral emotions ranged from 2.18% to 53.51 %, though the F1 score fluctuated, increasing by up to 20.6% and decreasing by up to 23.4%. These results suggest that the model demonstrates a bias towards the majority class, as reflected by the values of the two metrics.

The use of 3-Dimensional Light Detection and Ranging (3D LiDAR) point cloud as the alternative data to reduce privacy exposure in monitoring systems has been carried out in several studies. Unfortunately, various challenges in using point clouds intersect with the amount of data and computational costs. Several studies attempted to optimize the point cloud processing approach by segmenting the ground plane to get the object clusters separated. However, many unnecessary points can still burden the computation process. Since the ground plane mainly represents the horizontal planar plane on the x, y axis, this study tried to reduce the points on the vertical planar plane on the x, z and y, z axes with the x, y horizontal planar plane as well based on the surface normal vector direction of each point. The proposed approach has successfully reduced the raw point cloud by 79.29% removing the point cloud that indicates the planar surface of the three axes while maintaining the essential object of the monitoring system on the KITTI raw dataset. Therefore, the object cluster can be minimized, supporting the computational costs for further research in human activity monitoring systems.

Plants are living things that have many secrets in them. One that is very interesting is how plants can communicate with the surrounding environment through the activities of the plants themselves. Then, from this communication activity, plants produce electricity, which we can use to study further the behavior of these plants, commonly known as bioelectric potential. This study has aim to analyze the ability of bioelectric potential of plant to response a room temperature in different condition. This research is analyzed using a deep learning algorithm, namely Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM). The data was recording using a modified amplifier and the output is signal data. The signal obtained is an analog signal which is then converted into a digital signal. The data that has been obtained is then transformed first before being analyzed using the Wavelet Transform method. The algorithm will be evaluated between the baseline and hyperparameter tuning models. The result showed that hyperparameter tuning has the smallest RMSE. Therefore, it is better than baseline model. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) represents a significant milestone in the development of artificial intelligence, bringing sophisticated AI capabilities into daily life and work. As we approach the era of Hyper Intelligence (Hyper-I), a variety of critical challenges and emerging issues have come to light, ranging from computational complexity to ethical concerns. This paper explores the evolution of AI from the perspective of human learning, comparing machine and human intelligence, and identifying key considerations for the development of future AI systems. It also highlights the growing importance of regulating advanced AI models, such as Reinforcement Learning-based Long-Term Planning Agents, to ensure that Hyper-I remains under human control. Additionally, the paper discusses the computational complexity of transformer-based models, their applicability to intractable problems, and their role in cognitive building systems and resource-constrained environments through TinyML. By analyzing these pressing challenges, this work provides insights into the future of AI and the path toward responsible innovation in generative and hyper-intelligent systems.

Foreign Exchange market is the world's largest daily currency turnover. Two of the popular currencies Euro and Pound sterling traded against the US Dollar. Since the Russia and Ukraine war started in February 2022, their exchange rates decrease to the lowest rate ever. Even though the general trend is bearish, several daily candles increase for some days making challenges for forex analysts. To solve this problem, classification is applied. The data is labeled downward and upward. By utilizing Linear Kernel and Radial Basis Function (RBF) Kernel-based Support Vector Machines (SVM), the candle direction can be classified and optimized by tuning the Hyperparameters. The accuracy of candle direction classifications are highly improved. After tuning, in general, classification using Linear Models can outperform RBF Models. The best accuracy found on the Pound sterling against US Dollar by using the Linear model is 98.11% and the accuracy becomes 100% on data testing at a ratio of 70:30. Whilst for the Euro against the US Dollar, the best accuracy found the same for both Linear and RBF models on a ratio of 80:20 at 97.53%. However, on data testing, it decreases to 94.51% for Linear Model and 93.41% using RBF Model. The implication of this study is SVM can successfully classify candle direction on pairs in the Forex Market that are affected by a big event that comes for such a long period as long as the hyperparameter is tuned. © 2022 IEEE.

Analysis of the Brazilian Climate Data Influence on Soybean Pricing by Using Long Short-Term Memory Models

This work uses machine learning to verify whether the Brazilian climate influences international soybean price prediction. For this, climatic data, dollar quotes, inflation, and annual soybean production were collected from different data sources. Then, the collected data were pre-processed and grouped by Brazilian state. Afterward, data from the five most productive Brazilian states are chosen, such as Mato Grosso (MT), Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), Goiás (GO), Paraná (PR), and Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Afterward, predictive models are built using the long short-term memory (LSTM) method, which is applied in each chosen state dataset considering two different settings: with and without climatic data. Thus, two models were built for each Brazilian state, totaling ten predictors. In the experimental evaluation, when trained with climatic data, the PR model achieved the lowest values of root mean squared error (RMSE) and mean absolute error (MAE). Regarding predictors trained without climate data, the RS and PR obtained the lowest values of RMSE and MAE, respectively. After conducting statistical hypothesis tests, no significant difference was found among models, stating, with 95% certainty, that, in this study, the Brazilian climatic data did not influence the model performance for predicting soybean prices. On the other hand, one of the main contributions of work is conducting an unprecedented study about soybean price prediction using Brazilian climatic data. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper presents a realistic power transformer condition assessment and Health Index (HI) determination technique. The real-time operating data of twenty-seven power transformers of Bhutan Power Corporation Limited in transmission substations are used for condition evaluation. The diagnostic test data are combined into nine diagnostic groups for condition assessment. The conventional method of scoring and weighting average and the fuzzy logic methods are adopted for the condition assessment of power transformers. The excel program was developed for the conventional method for seamless evaluation. All the parameters harmonies the estimation and classification of the transformer operating condition. Then, this paper proposed new procedures for validating the conventional system of HI determination by the fuzzy logic method. © 2022 IEEE.
