Support Vector Regression (SVR) is often used in forecasting. Adjustment of parameters in the SVR affects the results of forecasting. This study aims to analyze the SVR method that is optimized using Harris Hawks Optimization (HHO), hereinafter referred to as HHO-SVR. The HHO-SVR was evaluated using five benchmark datasets to determine the performance of this method. The HHO process is also compared based on the type of kernel and other metaheuristic algorithms. The results showed that the HHO-SVR has almost the same performance as other methods but is less efficient in terms of time. In addition, the type of kernel also affects the process and results.

Over 900 million Bitcoin transactions have been recorded, posing considerable challenges for machine learning regarding computation time and maintaining prediction accuracy. We propose an innovative approach using quantum-inspired algorithms implemented with Simulated Annealing and Quantum Annealing to address the challenge of local minima in solution spaces. This method efficiently identifies key features linked to mixer addresses, significantly reducing model training time. By categorizing Bitcoin addresses into six classes—exchanges, faucets, gambling, marketplaces, mixers, and mining pools—and applying supervised learning methods, our results demonstrate that feature selection with SA reduced training time by 30.3% compared to using all features in a random forest model while maintaining a 91% F1-score for mixer addresses. This highlights the potential of quantum-inspired algorithms to swiftly and accurately identify high-risk Bitcoin addresses based on transaction features. © 2024, CC BY.

Until the present moment, most of the medical records are only stored in hospitals. The hospital systems are still in Electronic Medical Records and haven’t developed into Personal Health Records yet to let people manage their own health records. If there is no medical record exchange between hospitals, it may cause a lot of medical resources waste and medical problems. The medical data cannot be exchanged smoothly because of different data standards, data inconsistency, and privacy of patient data. However, Blockchain technology can solve data consistency problems, privacy issues, and centralization problems. So use Blockchain technology to establish a PHR system that people can manage by themselves and use FHIR of National Medical information Standard as the data format. People can share their PHR with doctors at any time and at any place, and doctors can give a more appropriate and accurate diagnosis. We use Ethereum’s private Blockchain. The system encrypts the PHR with an asymmetric key and then uses the Hash function to generate a hash value and write them into the block to ensure data consistency and security. The proportion of China’s 65-year-old population has increased year by year. As we enter old age, people’s average life expectancy increases year by year. The risk of disease in the elderly population increases. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Taiwan, most people over the age of 65 suffer from cancer and heart disease. Pneumonia, cerebrovascular disease, and diabetes. With medical advancement, more and more disease characteristics can be found in medical imaging. With the development of technology, the higher the resolution of the image, the more information that can be contained, and the doctor will spend more time marking and diagnosing. There is currently no open imaging training and recognition platform for users to use, so this study uses deep learning CNN technology to construct an image analysis and recognition platform with analysis and recognition interface. In the future, retraining and batch identification capabilities can be added to complete the integrity of the platform. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

FinGAT: Financial graph attention networks for recommending top-K profitable stocks

Financial technology (FinTech) has drawn much attention among investors and companies. While conventional stock analysis in FinTech targets at predicting stock prices, less effort is made for profitable stock recommendation. Besides, in existing approaches on modeling time series of stock prices, the relationships among stocks and sectors (i.e., categories of stocks) are either neglected or pre-defined. Ignoring stock relationships will miss the information shared between stocks while using pre-defined relationships cannot depict the latent interactions or influence of stock prices between stocks. In this work, we aim at recommending the top-K profitable stocks in terms of return ratio using time series of stock prices and sector information. We propose a novel deep learning-based model, Financial Graph Attention Networks (FinGAT), to tackle the task under the setting that no pre-defined relationships between stocks are given. The idea of FinGAT is three-fold. First, we devise a hierarchical learning component to learn short-term and long-term sequential patterns from stock time series. Second, a fully-connected graph between stocks and a fully-connected graph between sectors are constructed, along with graph attention networks, to learn the latent interactions among stocks and sectors. Third, a multi-task objective is devised to jointly recommend the profitable stocks and predict the stock movement. Experiments conducted on Taiwan Stock, S&P 500, and NASDAQ datasets exhibit remarkable recommendation performance of our FinGAT, comparing to state-of-the-art methods. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. This study aims to address the common issue of biased estimation errors in time series modeling by analyzing the error in locating ideal hyperparameters and defining appropriate validation methods. Specifically, it focuses on predicting the stock price of Bank Rakyat Indonesia using a combination of historical stock prices, technical indicators, exchange rates, and news sentiment data, while determining the optimal variables for deep learning models. Employing a deep learning-based Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM) model, the study optimizes hyperparameters alongside walk-forward validation for time series prediction. It explores different combinations of variables and adapts the sliding window approach to the context of the data. The results highlight the importance of optimizing hyperparameters and utilizing walk-forward validation for accurate time series prediction. The model incorporating historical stock prices and sentiment scores outperforms others, achieving an RMSE of 96.61 and MAE of 86.97. Incorporating sentiment scores reduces RMSE by 39.55 % compared to models using only historical stock prices, while adding technical indicators does not yield improvement. This study contributes to the field by addressing the issue of biased estimation errors in time series modeling, offering insights into the optimization of hyperparameters and validation methods for accurate predictions. It also underscores the significance of incorporating sentiment analysis alongside historical stock prices for improved forecasting accuracy. © 2024 The Authors

The Mekong River Basin (MRB) is one of the highest biodiversity areas in the world and is the vital source of livelihoods for more than 60 millions of people over six countries in Southeast Asia. However, it is suffering from a severe sediment starvation problem caused by climate change and human activities, particularly dam constructions. Understanding long-term sediment changes thus plays a crucial role for management and contingency plans. Current sediment concentration data in the MRB are extremely sporadic, making it a non-trivial task to analyze them. This paper focuses on the sediment reconstruction to provide long-term reliable suspended sediment concentration (SSC) data using Machine Learning (ML) perspectives. In particular, a novel semi-supervised ML model, which can effectively deal with data sparsity, is introduced to predict/reconstruct missing sediment data. The key idea of this approach is to exploit abundant available hydroclimate data to reduce training overfitting rather than solely relying on sediment concentration data, thus enhancing the accuracy of the employed ML models. Extensive experiments on data obtained from 1979 to 2019 at the three main stations (i.e., Chiang Saen, Nong Khai, and Mukdahan) are conducted to demonstrate the performances of the proposed method compared to other state-of-the-art supervised techniques and traditional simulation methods commonly used in previous sediment forecasting/reconstruction studies. To the best of our knowledge, this approach is the first semi-supervised method to reconstruct sediment data in the field. Though this study focuses on the MRB, sediment sparsity is a very common problem in other river systems worldwide. Thus, this method can be widely applied for them for more effective sediment reconstruction/prediction in general. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The Brimob Corps is a special police force, just like the special military detachments held by the TNI such as Paskhas and so on. At present brigade corps police national is busy being discussed in the real world and cyberspace, especially on social media twitter. Many opinions about the brigade corps police national so there are positive and negative opinions. Social media twitter is now one places to spread information about brigade corps police national. This study cases uses text mining techniques with support vector machine (SVM) method which aims to classify public sentiments towards brigade corps police national on twitter. The dataset used is tweet in Indonesian with keyword "Brimob" with a total dataset of 1000 tweets. Text mining, transform, tokenize, stemming, and classification, etc. techniques are useful for building classification and analysis of sentiment. RapidMiner and Gataframework are also used to help create sentiment analysis to measure classification values. Accuracy values obtained with support vector machine (SVM) approach 86,96%, with precision values of 86,96%, and recall values of 86,96%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The measurement property of the six-particle maximally entangled state was used by Sun [Mod. Phys. Lett. A 37, 2250149 (2022)] to design a quantum private comparison (QPC) protocol. However, this study points out that the entanglement property of the six-particle maximally entangled state is inconsequential as a security measure;that is, participants waste resources to store the entanglement state and perform the Bell measurement without obtaining any additional security advantage. Although a third party (TP) cannot obtain information regarding the participants' secret messages through an attack, an attack renders the six-particle entanglement redundant. Accordingly, this study proposed an improved QPC protocol to prevent third-party attacks. © 2023 World Scientific Publishing Company.

Copper (Cu) has been excessively used for some valuable commodities and this creates environmental problems. The inorganic element becomes toxic when presents beyond the recommended tolerated concentration. Bacterial-based remediation is seen to be an excellent tool to overcome it as it reduces the copper contamination without yielding any other forms of contamination. There are some pivotal properties in the bacteria render them being considered as bioremediation agents against coppers contamination, namely bioaccumulation and biosorption. In the present study, we question if these bacteria could be clustered into a strong and representative proximity according to their functional properties. Mostly, bacteria are grouped based on their genetic profiles derived from the 16S rRNA sequencing. We propose that our K-Means clustering model can be employed to identify genetically-unlabelled bacteria. But first, a prominent reference should be developed and we are in this phase. We figured out the K-Means clustering model do not pull the same-genus bacteria into the same cluster. Instead, the model gathers into a proximity those isolates with similarity on a functional characteristic termed minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), regardless their origins and their hierarchy in taxonomy.
