Indonesia has enormous geothermal potential, but it only contributes 5% to Indonesia's energy matrix. During 37 years of operation, PT. Pertamina Geothermal Energy Kamojang area has been operating to produce electricity and is currently capable of supplying and distributing electricity to the Java-Bali area with a capacity of 60 MWe. However, this can run into a decrease in the efficiency and effectiveness of system performance due to energy losses in several geothermal power plant components during energy conversion. In this case, exergy analysis at PT. Pertamina Geothermal Energy Kamojang area Unit 4 direct-dry steam cycle was done on each component and state. This aims to know the energy and exergy stream and where it happened irreversibly at the component. The biggest irreversibility value occurred at the turbine and main condenser, with a value of 21,693.890 kW and 21,688.148 kW. The total irreversibility of all systems is 58,326.201 kW, while the total exergy inlet systems is 119,308.457 kW, so the value efficiency exergy obtained is 51.13%. Based on the environment as dead state analysis, an efficiency exergy value is inversely proportional to the irreversibility value and ascending environment temperature. System optimization was done with the genetic algorithm method, with variable values at the pressure wellhead and inlet turbine for the overall exergy efficiency value. The value obtained from optimization is 11.98 bar at the wellhead and 10.023 bar at the inlet turbine, and the overall efficiency exergy increased by 51.22%. © 2023 The Author(s)

In this paper, we introduce the design approach of integrated photonic devices by employing reinforcement learning known as attractor selection (AttSel). Here, we combined 3D FDTD with AttSel algorithm, which is based on artificial neural networks, to achieve ultra-compact and highly efficient wavelength demultiplexers with low crosstalk such as. The presented devices consist of SOI materials, which are compatible with complementary MOS technology. Consequently, the reinforcement learning is successfully applied to design smaller and superior integrated photonic devices.

Breast cancer stands as the most frequently diagnosed life-threatening cancer among women worldwide. Understanding patients' drug experiences is essential to improving treatment strategies and outcomes. In this research, we conduct knowledge discovery on breast cancer drugs using patients' reviews. A new machine learning approach is developed by employing clustering, text mining and regression techniques. We first use Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) technique to discover the main aspects of patients' experiences from the patients' reviews on breast cancer drugs. We also use Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm to segment the data based on patients' overall satisfaction. We then use the Forward Entry Regression technique to find the relationship between aspects of patients' experiences and drug's effectiveness in each segment. The textual reviews analysis on breast cancer drugs found 8 main side effects: Musculoskeletal Effects, Menopausal Effects, Dermatological Effects, Metabolic Effects, Gastrointestinal Effects, Neurological and Cognitive Effects, Respiratory Effects and Cardiovascular. The results are provided and discussed. The findings of this study are expected to offer valuable insights and practical guidance for prospective patients, aiding them in making informed decisions regarding breast cancer drug consumption. © 2024 The Authors

Various methods have been proposed for analyzing traffic accident hotspots. One of these methods is to detect traffic accident hotspots on the road network using a hypothesis testing method. However, this method does not consider the time of occurrence of a traffic accident. In other words, this method provides information on high-risk locations for traffic accidents but not on the corresponding time. This paper proposes a new method for detecting traffic accident hotspots considering not only location but also time. We therefore extended the previous hypothesis testing method to consider the time of occurrence of a traffic accident. First, we check for changes in spatial properties over time in the target area using local indicators of spatial autocorrelation (LISA) cluster maps. Next, we estimate the probability density function of traffic accidents in the spatio-temporal network using the spatio-temporal network kernel density estimation (STNKDE) method. Finally, we detect clusters where the probability density of traffic accidents is significantly higher through hypothesis testing based on the estimation results. We detect clusters under four conditions while testing different hypotheses and parameters. The results show that the proposed method can detect traffic accident clusters. Therefore, when considering traffic safety measures, the method can be adopted to detect the location and time that require attention and allocate the necessary resources.

The rapid advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) and multi-agent systems has transformed how complex IoT tasks are managed across domains. While individual edge agents demonstrate proficiency in specialized tasks such as data collection and edge learning, they encounter substantial challenges when confronting complex IoT scenarios that demand diverse skill sets. This paper introduces a novel group formation framework facilitating effective IoT agent collaboration in complex task environments, including smart manufacturing, intelligent transportation, and smart cities. We propose a hybrid competition mechanism that optimizes initial multi-agent cooperation strategies by integrating task requirements, agent capabilities, and system-wide performance metrics. Our approach combines intra-task and inter-task competition to achieve optimal agent-task matching and resource allocation in large-scale IoT networks. Through comprehensive simulations across various IoT scenarios, we demonstrate that our framework substantially enhances task completion efficiency and system performance compared to existing methods. The results confirm our approach’s effectiveness in resource-constrained environments, achieving minimal agent grouping time costs while increasing total task revenue by 30%-42% and resource utilization by 38% compared to baseline heuristic methods. © 2014 IEEE.

Improvement of data management about weather in Indonesia is very supportive of the need for weather information. Currently, the weather information that is disseminated to the public is only based on sensor location points that are spread across Indonesia. However, supporting data generated from these sensors is only limited to certain areas. We hence develop a database system that can help collect weather information automatically via Twitter. This facilitates the Indonesian people in knowing weather information based on the completeness of data from sensor data and Twitter. The steps from the database that are built will be very helpful in collecting data about the weather throughout Indonesia. The basic step that we use in our database are conceptual, logical and physical design. The information obtained in this study is very important for efficient and effective data collection to achieve real-time automation of weather information. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper examines the reproducibility of massive information analytics under particular factors. The paper proposes the “performing Scalable Inference” technique to cope with scalability troubles and to exploit current big statistics platforms for efficient computing and statistics garage of the statistics. In particular, the paper describes how to perform leak-free, parallelizable visible analytics over massive datasets using present extensive records analytics frameworks such as Apache Flink. This method presents an automated manner to execute analytics that preserves reproducibility and the ability to make adjustments without re-running the entire technique. The paper also demonstrates how these analytics may help several real-world use instances, explore affected person cohorts for studies, and develop stratified patient cohorts for hospital therapy. In the end, the paper observes how the proposed method may be exercised within the real world. Actively scalable inference for massive information analytics is pivotal in optimizing decision-making and allocation of assets. Typically, such inferences are made based on information accumulated from numerous sources, databases, unstructured data, and different digital sources. So one can ensure scalability, a complete cloud-primarily based platform has to be hired. This solution will permit the ***, deploying the essential records series and evaluation algorithms are prime here. It could permit the platform to recognize the styles inside the statistics and discover any ability correlations or traits. Additionally, predictive analytics and system mastering strategies may be incorporated to provide insights into the results of the information. In the long run, by leveraging those techniques, the platform can draw efficient inferences and appropriately compare situations in an agile and green way..

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is one of the six usage scenarios of the sixth generation (6G) mobile communication system. Since an optical system can also provide communication and sensing abilities, optical ISAC has become a potential complement to radio-frequency (RF) ISAC. As orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has gained increasing interest in optical systems, we propose a direct-current-biased optical OFDM (DCO-OFDM) scheme for free space optical (FSO) ISAC in this paper. To derive the spectral efficiency for communication and the Fisher information for sensing, we model the clipping noise of DCO-OFDM with the Bussgang theorem to obtain the expression of the signal-to-noise ratio. In addition, based on the derived performance metrics, an optimization problem for power allocation is formulated, and an iterative algorithm is proposed to solve the problem efficiently. Meanwhile, numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and reveal the trade-off between communication and sensing functionalities of the OFDM-based FSO-ISAC system.

CANDECOMP/PARAFAC(CP) tensor factorization is an efficient technique for incomplete tensor-data processing through capturing the multilinear latent factors. Based on the incorporate a sparsity-inducing prior over multiple latent factors and appropriate hyper-priors over all hyper-parameters, a Bayesian-based hierarchical probabilistic CP factorization model could be formed. By this way, the rank of the incomplete tensor can be determined automatically. In this paper, we explored the tensor completion method in processing incomplete multidimensional electroencephalogram(EEG) and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) clinical data. The empirical results indicated that the Bayesian CP tensor factorization of incomplete data method can effectively recover EEG signal with missing data and denoised the noisy MRI data.

Learning a musical instrument is challenging in many different aspects. One important aspect is the motivation of the music students. One common practice to keep music students engaged is to use songs that the students like. However, identifying an appropriate music score for the music students that is compatible with the specific skill level and music taste of each student can be a challenging task. Defining the difficulty of each score manually is a complex task, as it requires theoretical knowledge and mastery of a particular musical instrument and music theory. In this context, the automatic music score difficulty classification task can help music teachers and students by automatically classifying music scores according to their difficulty. The main contribution of this work is to evaluate the use of two approaches based on the musicXML files and different classification algorithms for this task concerning three different music instruments, namely the violin, the piano and the acoustic guitar. Our experiments show interesting results for all the musical instruments.
