People with hearing loss in this world have not received much serious attention from the authorities. This makes these sufferers confused in choosing learning media to interact with and isolated from their social environment. This application was created to help people with hearing loss to be noticed and understood from the way they communicate using sign language through the mobile application called Assistant for the Deaf, which has many features such as registration, interactive videos, sign language translator, forums, customer service, library, information, history, events, donations, and shops. The application is designed using use case diagrams and class diagrams modeling the database, and the implementation used Android Studio and MySQL database. © 2022 IEEE.

In this article, we propose a normalized time-fractional Black–Scholes (TFBS) equation. The proposed model uses a normalized time-fractional derivative which has a distinctive feature wherein a weight function possesses the property that its integral with respect to time is always equal to one. This feature ensures a well-balanced integration over time and provides a fair comparison between different fractional orders. An implicit finite difference method is used for the numerical solution of the TFBS equation. We perform several standard numerical tests to examine the effect of the fractional parameter on the option pricing. These experiments are designed to investigate how variations in the fractional parameter influence pricing outcomes and provide valuable insights into the model’s behavior under different conditions. The computational results demonstrate the model’s potential for capturing more intricate market dynamics, which makes the proposed model a promising tool for financial analysis. The capability of the quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA) in solving combinatorial optimization problems has been intensively studied in recent years due to its application in the quantum-classical hybrid regime. Despite having difficulties that are innate in the variational quantum algorithms (VQA), such as barren plateaus and the local minima problem, QAOA remains one of the applications that is suitable for the recent noisy intermediate scale quantum (NISQ) devices. Recent works have shown that the performance of QAOA largely depends on the initial parameters, which motivate parameter initialization strategies to obtain good initial points for the optimization of QAOA. On the other hand, optimization strategies focus on the optimization part of QAOA instead of the parameter initialization. Instead of having absolute advantages, these strategies usually impose trade-offs to the performance of the optimization problems. One such example is the layerwise optimization strategy, in which the QAOA parameters are optimized layer by layer instead of the full optimization. The layerwise strategy costs less in total compared to the full optimization, in exchange of lower approximation ratio. In this work, we propose the iterative layerwise optimization strategy and explore the possibility for the reduction of optimization cost in solving problems with QAOA. Using numerical simulations, we found that by combining the iterative layerwise strategy with proper initialization strategies, the optimization cost can be significantly reduced in exchange for a minor reduction in the approximation ratio. We also show that in some cases, the approximation ratio given by the iterative layerwise strategy is even higher than that given by the full optimization.

We performed machine learning using spectrum analysis and power spectra of electroencephalograms (EEGs) of patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Spectrum analysis was performed on the EEGs of MCI patients and healthy individuals, and the power spectrum values of the two groups were calculated and compared. Based on the power spectrum values of the theta and alpha bands, models for discriminating MCI patients were created using a support vector machine (SVM), and their accuracies were compared. In the spectrum analysis, the theta band showed significantly higher power spectrum values in the MCI group. In the comparison of the accuracies of SVM models, the model using the theta band showed higher values in parameters, such as accuracy rate. These results suggested that the power spectrum values of the theta band are useful for discriminating MCI patients. © 2024 IEEE.

Forecasting on success or failure of software has become an interesting and,in fact,an essential task in the software development *** order to explore the latest data on successes and failures,this research focused on certain questions such as is early phase of the software development life cycle better than later phases in predicting software success and avoiding high rework?What human factors contribute to success or failure of a software?What software practices are used by the industry practitioners to achieve high quality of software in their day-to-day work?In order to conduct this empirical analysis a total of 104 practitioners were recruited to determine how human factors,misinterpretation,and miscommunication of requirements and decision-making processes play their roles in software success *** discussed a potential relationship between forecasting of software success or failure and the development *** noticed that experienced participants had more confidence in their practices and responded to the questionnaire in this empirical study,and they were more likely to rate software success forecasting linking to the development *** analysis also shows that cognitive bias is the central human factor that negatively affects forecasting of software success *** results of this empirical study also validated that requirements’misinterpretation and miscommunication were themain causes behind software systems’*** has been seen that reliable,relevant,and trustworthy sources of information help in decision-making to predict software systems’success in the software *** empirical study highlights a need for other software practitioners to avoid such bias while working on software *** investigation can be performed to identify the other human factors that may impact software systems’success.

Universities can employ information technology as one means of achieving their goals and objectives. Universities can get advantages from information technology, such as effective resource management and information management for decision-making. However, don't forget that the campus must consider what technology is appropriate to assist them achieve their goals, particularly in the current industrial era 4.0 where technology is available with many different choices. The campus requires an enterprise architecture in order to design, manage, and coordinate information technology infrastructure, applications, and processes strategically and thoroughly. The adoption of enterprise information system architecture (EA) is also intended to improve the quality of services provided to internal and external stakeholders. In this case, Enterprise Architecture can help an organization to match its information technology resources with business processes and strategies to achieve their goals. This research was conducted using TOGAF ADM, also known as the Open Group Architecture Framework Architecture Development Method. This method offers best practices for creating enterprise architecture and emphasizes several steps that include creating an architectural vision, information systems, business architecture modeling to help XYZ campus manage all their information technology. © 2023 IEEE.

Several challenges have emerged as a result of the rapid spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia. To combat the pandemic, the government has also issued general guidelines for avoiding/limiting direct contact with common people who do not live with them. However, in some unavoidable cases, such as cash transactions, the social distancing has not yet been followed properly. These type of challenges can be avoided by the introduction of e-wallets and e-money. This research study examines the transactions made using e-wallets and e-money and how these methods are increasing sales in public places. The proposed research study has attempted to utilize both qualitative and a quantitative method to observe the customer behavior while using e-wallet as a substitute for physical money when making a transaction in a shopping mall. The energy control of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) often leads to an unbalanced state between the battery storage system, energy extraction through photovoltaic systems energy, and energy utilization in the WSN. These disparities result in suboptimal wireless sensor network performance. The reliance on batteries is a major factor contributing to this problem. The Q-Learning Energy Management System (Q-EMS) is designed to address these challenges and improve energy management strategies. The Q-EMS algorithm used a learning process resulting in optimal actions for sensor nodes in different situations. The rewards or punishments nodes receive determine their decisions, which are determined by the Q-EMS algorithm. The Q-learning model approach is aimed at reducing energy consumption and supply in WSNs. Energy supply is categorized into battery-based, transfer-based, and harvesting, while energy consumption can be classified into task-cycle, mobility-based, and data-driven. The development of the Q Learning algorithm model has three scenarios: determining energy needs for WSN, effective energy harvesting strategy, and effective energy transfer. As a result, effective energy demand, harvesting and transfer using the Q-learning algorithm are balanced. However, it needs to be studied in more depth using real data in the field. In future research, I will use real data and optimize the use of the Q-Learning algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

An accurate predictive model of temperature and humidity plays a vital role in many industrial processes that utilize a closed space such as in agriculture and building management. With the exceptional performance of deep learning on time-series data, developing a predictive temperature and humidity model with deep learning is propitious. In this study, we demonstrated that deep learning models with multivariate time-series data produce remarkable performance for temperature and relative humidity prediction in a closed space. In detail, all deep learning models that we developed in this study achieve almost perfect performance with an R value over 0.99. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

This paper considers video and audio transmission in ICN (information-Centric Networking)/ CCN (ContentCentric Networking), where each intermediate node can cache content. We have proposed LCD with Prob, combining traditional policies: LCD (Leave Copy Down) and probabilistic caching. This paper assumes a case where multiple video and audio streams exist simultaneously. We assess application-level QoS (Quality of Service) and QoE (Quality of Experience) of video and audio transmission utilizing LCD with Prob. We also add a mechanism for further QoE enhancement called “LCD with Prob deletion.” We assess application-level QoS using a computer simulation with a tree network and QoE by means of a subjective experiment. From the assessment result, we show the effectiveness of LCD with Prob deletion against existing policies.
