This study proposes a tactile diagram pattern for visually impaired people to recognize color information. The pattern uses the principle of three primary colors, with different patterns representing red, blue, and yellow. The size of tactile elements on these patterns indicates the proportion of the color mixing. A preliminary experiment showed that even a sighted participant could understand and reconstruct the tactile diagram. Future experiments will target visually impaired people to confirm the effectiveness of this method. © 2024, CC BY.

Depression, a multifaceted mental health disorder, is characterized by persistent feelings of sorrow, hopelessness, and a pervasive loss of interest or pleasure in once-enjoyed activities. It often manifests with physical and cognitive symptoms, including alterations in appetite and sleep patterns, overwhelming fatigue, difficulty in maintaining focus, and recurrent contemplations of death or suicide. Psychological research has unveiled a profound connection between depressive emotions, the expression of those emotions, and their perception. This intricate relationship underscores the paramount importance of comprehending how individuals with depression both undergo and convey their emotional experiences. This study enhances the precision of depression detection through a multimodal, multi-task learning approach. It combines the depression detection dataset(the AVEC 2019 Detecting Depression with AI Sub-challenge_with the sentiment analysis dataset, CMU-MOSEI. By harnessing emotional data, this method significantly augments the accuracy of depression detection. The efficacy of this proposed approach is validated using a publicly available dataset, AVEC 2019. It surpasses existing state-of-the-art methods, achieving a Concordance Correlation Coefficient (CCC) of 0.466 and a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 5.21 on the AVEC 2019 DDS test set. This represents a notable 5.4% improvement over the accuracy achieved by the current state-of-the-art method, which had a CCC of 0.442.

Air pollution is a pressing issue in cities, and managing air quality poses a challenge for urban designers and decision-makers. This study proposes a Digital Twin (DT) Smart City integrated with Mixed Reality technology to enhance visualization and collaboration for addressing urban air pollution. The research adopts an applied research approach, with a focus on developing a DT framework. A use case of DT development for Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, is presented. By integrating air quality data, meteorological information, traffic patterns, and urban infrastructure data, the DT provides a comprehensive understanding of air pollution dynamics. The visualization capabilities of the DT, utilizing Mixed Reality technology, facilitate effective decision-making and the identification of strategies for managing air quality. However, further research is needed to address data management challenges to build a DT for Smart City at scale.

The infection of Plasmodium vivax is relatively less virulent than the deathliest Plasmodium falciparum. However, it still can lead to a fatal case and often induces recurring malaria due to dormant parasites in the liver. Thus, the research to study the drug to treat Plasmodium vivax is essential, where the enzyme dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) has recently become a new drug target. However, the drug-enzyme interaction study has only recently been conducted in Plasmodium falciparum (pfDHODH) due to the lack of the 3D structure of enzyme DHODH from Plasmodium vivax that is crucial for the study. Therefore, this study aimed to perform the modelling study of Plasmodium vivax DHODH (PvDHODH) to create a 3D structure as a basis for drug-protein interaction study in upcoming studies. Sequence pvDHODH (Accession: SCO68359.1) was used in homology modelling using Modeller 10.2 with the crystal structure of DHODH from DHODH (Accession: 7KZY) as a template. Overall, the model generated from the homology modelling was considered a good model, and the 3D structure was close to the native state according to several parameters, including DOPE score, GA341 score, QMEAN4 value, 3D-1D score, ERRAT2 score, and ProSA score. Ramachandran plot also revealed that almost all amino acids were distributed in the desirable and allowed area (99.1%), and only 0.9% were in generously allowed regions. Superimposition of the model with the template also indicated that the model has an almost similar structure and amino acids positioning, including in the binding pocket and active site. Therefore, the model can be used for downstream analysis in drug-protein interaction studies. Nevertheless, some improvements can still be performed to upgrade the quality of the model by deleting unaligned residues on the C-terminal and realigning the residues at the doubting site. © 2023 IEEE.

Tourism continues to be developed, as one of important sectors to support foreign exchange revenue and also support the economic sectors. The purpose of this research finds the mapping factor from digital economy and its implementation in tourism sector as known as tourism digital model. The Methodology of this research used literature approach from previous research of digital economy characteristics factors and digital tourism. Typhoid fever is an endemic disease that burdens Indonesia and has a potentially fatal infection multisystem. Salmonella typhi bacterium is responsible for typhoid fever disease. Poor sanitation, crowding, and slums are the main factors of increasing typhoid fever incidences. Environmental factors directly connected to meteorological factors are the main factor in breeding the Salmonella typhi bacterium. This study aims to identify the correlation between meteorological parameters and typhoid fever disease occurrence. The study was carried out in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the Bureau of Meteorological, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) provided the meteorological parameter data. In addition, the Jakarta health surveillance office provided information on typhoid fever hospitalizations from 2019 to 2021. Pearson's concept was utilized d to investigate the correlation between typhoid fever incidences and the meteorological parameters. Humidity, precipitation, and wind speed are the meteorological parameters that significantly affect in contribute to the occurrence of typhoid fever disease. These findings might be used as a reference for Indonesia's government in making public policy to prevent typhoid fever in Indonesia.

Individuals with eye diseases that cause optic nerve damage, such as glaucoma, suffer from visual field defects (VFDs), rendering the assessment of VFDs an essential step in medical treatment. In existing studies, various methods have been proposed for VFD area inspections. However, these methods present several problems, including long inspection times and the need to maintain a posture for extended periods, potentially placing significant physical and psychological burdens on patients and affecting the accuracy of the inspection result. Moreover, loose eye fixation constraints also decrease the reliability of the result. In response, we herein propose a novel approach for a fast VFD test, facilitated by the quadtree algorithm. To overcome the physical burden caused by posture constraints related to the testing area requirements and location of the stimulus, the proposed VFD test is implemented on a head-mounted display with a built-in eye tracker. To improve the accuracy of the inspection result further, variously sized noise fields were adopted as the stimuli shown to the examinees. In addition, to validate the performance of the proposed method, a mock experiment was conducted in this study, which involved volunteers with normal vision. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method demonstrates a competitive advantage in perimetric time compared to current state-of-the-art methods, and it exhibits advantages in terms of both accuracy and user comfort.

Relip: Reliable in-Band Parallel Communication for Magnetic MIMO Wireless Power Transfer System

In magnetic resonant coupling (MRC) based wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, receiver (RX) feedback communication is promising to enhance the capability and efficiency of the system. Although some studies have explored in-band implementations with low overhead costs, it has not been comprehensively investigated. In this paper, we propose Relip, a Reliable layer-level in-band parallel feedback communication mechanism for MIMO MRC-WPT systems, which addresses the impact of RX-RX couplings (i.e., non-negligible interference from strong couplings and positive effects of relay phenomenon), and provides a theoretical analysis of communication reliability. Technically, we first devise an On-Off based two-phase modulation mechanism to achieve RX identification and dependency detection under relay phenomenon. Then, we utilize observed channel decomposability to collect group-level power transfer channel conditions for eliminating the interference caused by strong RX-RX couplings. Furthermore, we perform RX selection to optimize the trade-off between communication reliability and time overhead. We design and implement the Relip prototype and conduct extensive experiments. The results validate the effectiveness of our mechanism, i.e., Relip can provide ≥99% average decoding accuracy for concurrent feedback communication of 14 devices, achieving an 18.31% improvement compared to the state-of-the-art solution. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Internet of Things (IoT) devices are crucial components in e-healthcare networks. It enables remote patient health monitoring and facilitates seamless communication among medical sensors, wearable devices, and healthcare providers through public communication channels. Despite these advantages, the use of public communication among medical sensors in e-healthcare networks introduces critical challenges, such as vulnerability to impersonation, physical capture, and ephemeral secret leakage, particularly in resource-constrained environments. In recent years, various access control protocols have been developed to mitigate these risks. However, these protocols often fail to ensure robust security while incurring significant communication and computation overhead. To overcome these limitations, we propose a lightweight and robust access control protocol for IoT-based e-healthcare networks using chaotic maps. We propose a novel protocol that integrates a PUF-based mechanism to mitigate the challenges of physical tampering and cloning attacks in e-healthcare networks. It leverages the inherent uniqueness of PUF and enhances security through the high-entropy properties of chaotic maps. We analyze the proposed protocol informally, which confirms that it significantly bolsters efficiency and security. We also validate the security using the Random or Real (RoR) model. Moreover, we verify the security of the proposed protocol using Scyther. These analyses highlight that the proposed protocol offers robust resistance to numerous attacks, such as impersonation, physical capture, and ephemeral secret leakage. Moreover, we also compare it with existing and relevant protocols. The comparative analysis showcases its superior performance. Notably, the proposed authentication protocol significantly reduces 46.84% computational overhead and decreases 31.30% communication overhead, underscoring its enhanced performance and resource efficiency. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Plants can respond to changes in their surroundings, such as temperature, humidity, and human behavior. This ability is due to photosynthesis and respiration in plants, resulting in low electrical signals. We focus on room temperature change by plant bioelectric potential detection. The temperature topic is interesting for the actual research because it is one of important factor in health aspect. This study aims to analysis of temperature of Bioelectric potential of plant using machine learning. This implementation identifies the plants' bioelectric potential in distinguishing three-room temperature categories: A, B, and C temperature. We conducted the experimental in room control. For the transformation process is using wavelet transform. Furthermore, the analysis process, we used the Decision Tree (DT), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), K-Nearest Neighborhood (K-NN), Naïve Bayes, and linear regression. Then, for the evaluation is using confusion Matrix. The result showed that the best level of transformation using Wavelet is 7thlevel for reducing the noise. Furthermore, the best accuracy of analysis process is using Decision tree which obtained 75%. © 2022 IEEE.
