People with Homonymous Hemianopia (HH) suffer from losing ipsilateral half side of visual field in both eyes, which results in failing to obtain visual information in the lost field. Making using of the remaining of the visual field, the state-of-the-art studies proposed Overlaid Overview Window (OOW) and Edge Indicator (EI) on the basis of Augmented-Reality (AR) glasses for compensation. However, experiments conducted in these studies investigate user performance with tasks involving events in lost field or remaining field singly. On the other hand, both studies recruited normal individuals for mock experiment, while their way to simulate HH, which requiring the participants to fix their view angles, were not practical to real HH patients. In this study, we conduct a contextual information experiment to investigate the user performance involving in the task requiring the information across both the visible and invisible sides of HH, with the compensation of OOW and Flicker-based EI (FEI). At the same time, we also recruit volunteers with normal vision for mock experiment, while the participants in our study are allowed to move their gaze freely, because we simulate the invisible field of HH on AR glasses with eye tracking. The experiment results showed that OOW is better for the task that related to move something from the remaining FoV to the lost FoV, while FEI is better for moving something from the lost FoV to the remaining FoV. © 2022 ACM.

When integrated with pervasive intelligence — the embedding of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms into physical and digital environments — this synergy significantly amplifies innovation potential. In the context of sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks, DTs serve as real-time simulators of network behaviors, allowing AI to continuously learn from real-world data, optimize network performance, and proactively identify potential issues.

Digital Marketing is a product marketing strategy using digital media and internet networks. Nowadays, digital marketing is a necessity for companies that thrive in the digital world. It greatly affects the growth of MSME (Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises) especially when it comes to increasing their sales performance by enhancing their brand awareness through various media or instruments such as a Facebook ad, Instagram advertising, Search Engine Optimization, and Search Engine Marketing. This research is aimed to measure how much impact of digital marketing utilization into Micro, Small, Medium enterprises. On the other hand, it also provides an understanding on what are the best digital marketing method to be utilized in the current situation. The method we used in this paper is quantitative. Data were collected through various questions constructed in an electronic questionnaire. This research provides a reference of digital marketing strategies for Micro, Small and Medium business owners. The result shows that digital marketing has a huge impact on the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise from increasing sales, increasing brand awareness, and gaining customers based on the data collected from both customer and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise players in Indonesia. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Internet of Things (IoT) devices are installed in various locations to realize smart cities, smart factories, smart homes, etc., and are connected to the Internet for data communication. Most current IoT systems are built on a client-server model using servers built on the cloud. On the other hand, edge computing services are increasing and there are still demands to manage sensitive data in a local environment, and a local edge computing is emerging as a new concept to address these demands. Next-generation IoT services are expected to increase the importance of interoperability between different IoT systems, and connectivity to the local edge computing environment will be required. The authors have proposed QUIC-based CYPHONIC (CYber PHysical Overlay Network over Internet Communication) as a communication architecture that simultaneously achieves communication connectivity and mobility transparency in a mixed IPv4/IPv6 environment. This paper shows that QUIC-based CYPHONIC can be used to realize end-to-end encrypted communication between local edge devices located in different local networks over the actual Internet environment with practically acceptable performance.

By decoupling the control plane from the data plane, Software-Defined-Networking (SDN) brings unprecedented levels of flexibility, agility, and scalability to network architectures. This innovation enables centralized control, dynamic provisioning, and efficient resource utilization, fostering a new era of network management. However, alongside the benefits, SDN also introduces new security challenges, with link fabrication attacks posing significant threats to network integrity and reliability. These attacks exploit topology discovery mechanisms in SDNs, allowing malicious entities to inject fabricated links and manipulate network traffic, leading to potential service disruption, data breaches, and unauthorized access. In response to these threats, we present a novel multi-factor link verification, link discovery attack detection and response framework called MultiShieLD designed to operate on the POX controller. Leveraging a multi-factor link verification methodology, our framework dynamically verifies each Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) packets by unique packet authentication codes, and scrutinizing their trip timing statistics to identify anomalies indicative of potential link fabrication attacks. Key features of MultiShieLD include lightweight architecture, ensuring minimal resource overhead on the SDN controller, consistent performance across varying network conditions, precise detection capabilities, and enabling timely response to potential threats. MultiShieLD has been implemented and tested on different attack scenarios and topologies. Our findings show that MultiShieLD successfully detects LLDP based attacks while utilizing minimal resources, responses and isolates malicious hosts, generates enriched logs that can be monitored on ELK, and supports large and dynamic topologies as a scalable and holistic security solution. © 2024, The Authors. The Coreopsis Lanceolata, a designated invasive foreign species is inhabiting a wide range of areas in Japan. Therefore, it is necessary to map its distribution for pest management planning. On the other hand, a camera and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) can be mounted on the vehicle to obtain video and geographic information around the vehicle. In this paper, we propose a pest management planning support system for the Coreopsis Lanceolata based on image recognition and geographic information.

In recent years, floods caused by overflowing rivers by heavy rainfall have caused significant damage as disasters have become more severe. Evacuation during disasters presents challenges, such as delays in evacuation activities with traffic congestion and the difficulty for evacuees to decide the appropriate evacuation route by themselves. Therefore, it is necessary to support the decisions of appropriate evacuation routes for each evacuee, taking into account the evacuation route situation. In this paper, we proposed an evacuation route planning system for river flooding by making evacuation route decisions based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) from the candidate evacuation routes decided based on Ant Colony Optimisation (ACO).

The quantum alternating operator ansatz (QAOA) represents a branch of quantum algorithms for solving combinatorial optimization problems. A specific variant, the Grover-mixer (GM) QAOA, ensures uniform amplitude across states that share equivalent objective values. This property makes the algorithm independent of the problem structure, focusing instead on the distribution of objective values within the problem. In this work we provide an alternative proof for the upper bound on the probability of measuring a computational basis state from a GM QAOA circuit with a given depth, which is a critical factor in QAOA cost. Using this, we derive the upper bounds for the probability of sampling an optimal solution and for the approximation ratio of maximum optimization problems, both dependent on the objective value distribution. Through numerical analysis, we link the distribution to the problem size and build the regression models that relate the problem size, QAOA depth, and performance upper bound. Our results suggest that the GM QAOA provides a quadratic enhancement in sampling probability and requires circuit depth that scales exponentially with problem size to maintain consistent performance.

In Japan, it is a need for countermeasures against animal damage caused by pests animals, such as deer and boars. Therefore, there are pest animals repellent by stimulation of sound containing ultrasonic frequency ranges. However, the problem is that if pest animals are listening to repellent sounds continuously, the effect is lower than before. On the other hand, it is possible to prevent pest animals from becoming resistant to repellent sounds by listening to sound stimuli only to the pest movement. In this paper, we develop a pest animal avoidance system that adapts to the pest animal situation and generates vermin avoidance sounds by classifying vermin based on object recognition and estimating their eating behavior based on posture estimation.
