information communications technology (ICT) refers to the technology used for communication and managing information must be utilized to enhance the environment, economics, mobility, and governance, among other facets of urban life, in order to create smart cities. However this progress is frequently accompanied by a number of challenges and unfavorable outcomes. This study aims to uncover ICT difficulties related to smart city infrastructure through an extensive literature review. In addition, a survey was carried out among Saudi nationals to find out what they thought about, anticipated, and worried about in terms of smart city concepts and features. The study also looked at a literature checklist of ICT problems, which included dangers to information security, incompatibilities across systems, privacy concerns, and deficiencies in digital capabilities. Based on the findings it appears that privacy breaches and information security concerns are the most important issues. This is explained by heightened susceptibility and potential, cyberattacks and a pervasive ignorance of the protection of personal data. Because of the anticipated high costs and difficulties with adaption and utilization, the public is concerned about incompatibility between systems and services. Water resource management worldwide faces significant challenges, including high consumption rates, scarcity, and ageing infrastructure. This paper proposes a comprehensive approach to address these issues through five key solutions. Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) first facilitates real-time data collection and consumer awareness campaigns. Secondly, wastewater recycling and reuse are promoted by upgrading wastewater treatment plants and fostering public-private partnerships. Thirdly, reducing network losses is achieved through leak detection systems and regular maintenance. Fourthly, policy enhancement and regulatory frameworks are strengthened by implementing regulations for new developments and incentives for water-saving technologies. Lastly, community engagement and education initiatives are undertaken to promote sustainable water practices. This multifaceted strategy aims to improve water conservation, efficiency, and resilience of the water supply system. This paper proposes solutions that can be applied to the Madinah AL Munawara region of Saudi Arabia, an area of utmost importance, demonstrating the applicability and effectiveness of these solutions in addressing regional water management challenges. © The Author(’s).

Object segmentation and recognition is an imperative area of computer vision andmachine learning that identifies and separates individual objects within an image or video and determines classes or categories based on their *** proposed system presents a distinctive approach to object segmentation and recognition using Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs).The system takes RGB images as input and uses a k-means clustering-based segmentation technique to fragment the intended parts of the images into different regions and label thembased on their ***,two distinct kinds of features are obtained from the segmented images to help identify the objects of *** Artificial Neural Network(ANN)is then used to recognize the objects based on their *** were carried out with three standard datasets,MSRC,MS COCO,and Caltech 101 which are extensively used in object recognition research,to measure the productivity of the suggested *** findings from the experiment support the suggested system’s validity,as it achieved class recognition accuracies of 89%,83%,and 90.30% on the MSRC,MS COCO,and Caltech 101 datasets,respectively.

Poverty is considered a serious global issue that must be immediately eradicated by Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, namely ending poverty anywhere and in any form. As a developing country, poverty is a complex issue faced by Indonesia. Tackling poverty in Indonesia has become a key focus of the government’s strategic priorities. This issue of poverty is experienced by all provinces in Indonesia, including Central Java. The poverty rate in Central Java stands at 10.77% or 3.79 million people. The causes of poverty are explained by several factors. Using these various factors, a mapping model can be conducted to determine the number of poor populations in Central Java. This research employs Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) and Mixed Geographically Weighted Regression (MGWR) approaches to compare the effectiveness of these models in analyzing the number of poor populations in Central Java in 2023. The kernel function weighting used in this study is Fixed Gaussian. The results showed that the MGWR model outperformed both the OLS regression and GWR models, achieving an Akaike information Criterion (AIC) of 62.766, an R2 of 82.3%, and a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.177. Consequently, it can be inferred that the MGWR model was more suitable for explaining the poverty levels in Central Java. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). All Rights Reserved.

MV-DUO: multi-variate discrete unified optimization for psychological vital assessments

Psychological vital assessments are required for monitoring health conditions and observing body reactions toward diseases and medications. Wearable sensors play a vital role in sensing body vitals and presenting them as signals for computer-based analysis. The problem relies on the signal decoding due to its input stream that turns out to be discrete/ continuous. Therefore for addressing the above specific issue, this article introduces MV-DUO (Multi-Variate Discrete Unified Optimization) method. This method addresses the above problem from a multi-variate perspective by sensing differential signals across healthy and unhealthy conditions. The healthy and unhealthy conditions are trained using neural learning by augmenting/ ceasing external vital data. The unification is performed using single-point artificial ecosystem-based optimization for identifying discrete sequences collaborated with continuous signals. The single-point reference is grouped based on the maximum continuity fitness observed under various sensing intervals. In this process, the non-grouped sequences are identified as unhealthy or discrete for which additional detection training and classification are required. Considerably the changes between successive sensing intervals are used for variations detection from unified high-fitness groups. Those grouped instances are used for training new vital changes observed at distinct intervals. This improves detection accuracy under controlled errors. For the varying sensing intervals, the proposed method achieves 14.13% high accuracy, 8.29% high grouping rate, 10.77% less error, and 10.07% less detection time. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Lung cancer is the most deadly illness for patients, and it is an incurable condition. Patient survival rates are greatly increased by early cancer prognosis and identification. The Computed Tomography (CT) scan is an important imaging tool for a lung cancer diagnosis. On the other hand, a manual CT scan inspection is laborious and prone to mistakes. Lung cancer can be impulsively recognized by utilizing an image processing technique of computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD). In recent years, various researchers identified various ways for accurate prediction by Using techniques for deep learning (DL) and machine learning (ML). This research represents a number of methodologies like Lung cancer disease prediction analysis makes use of Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Logistic Regression (LR), Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-means clustering, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). © 2024 IEEE.

A Fully LTPS-TFT-Based Bi-Directional Biomedical Interface Circuit for Large-Area Healthcare Applications

This paper proposed a fully LTPS-TFT-based bi-directional biomedical pixel interface with integrated a high linearity stimulator and a high-performance bio-potential sensing front-end circuit to amplify and digitize biological signals for high robustness data transmission. All circuits are designed and manufactured under a 3-μm LTPS process. We demonstrated the experiment in saline using the stimulator circuit to simulate stimulation inside the organism, achieving stimulation with different average currents under different duty cycles. The proposed front-end circuit has a gain of 40 dB. The referred input voltage noise of the entire signal chain is 86.2 μV/√Hz, and the ENOB is 9.13 bits at an input of 0.5 mVPP. Simultaneously conducting statistical testing on 20 chips has achieved a 1.05 dB SNDR standard deviation. Finally, we use a function signal generator to simulate the input signals of ECoG, ECG, and EOG, then use front-end circuits to read and reconstruct them to demonstrate that the proposed pixel interface can correctly read common biomedical signals for healthcare applications. © 2022 IEEE.

Fine-grained Energy-efficient Data Center Traffic Scheduling Mechanism Based on Hierarchical Control

With the continuous expansion of the data center, its energy consumption is also increasing. Aiming at the problem that the high redundancy of modern data center network causes low energy-consumption utilization, this paper proposes an energy-saving traffic scheduling algorithm (IMV-MLF) based on improved multi-layer-virtual-topology combined with maximum link-utilization path priority, which realizes more fine-grained control of each layer of virtual topology in data center network. Firstly, the relevant shap-ing linear programming mathematical model is established according to the optimization goal of energy conservation, which can minimize the energy consumption of the whole network as far as possible under the premise of meeting all network-flow requirements;Then, according to the optimization goal, the existing SDN based energy saving multi-layer-virtual-topology (EMV-SDN) method is improved. Whether the network devices in other layers are enabled is determined by the overall traffic level rather than the traffic level of a single link. On the basis of the opened level, the newly arrived network flows are preferentially allocated to the path with the highest link utilization, and overload link set is introduced, we can effectively use the available link routes with sufficient residual bandwidth to reduce congestion when the topology changes by marking the links whose link utilization reaches the critical value, and further count and close the links and switches which no network flows pass through. The experimental results show that the performance of IMV-MLF algorithm is better than multi-layer virtual topology energy saving (EMV-SDN) algorithm and the equivalent multipath (ECMP) algorithm in saving network energy. This result is helpful to provide another new idea for energy conservation of data center. © 2023, Journal of Network Intelligence.
