Umm al Qura University is one of the largest universities in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, having more than one hundred thousand students. The university is situated in a suburb area of Makkah city;around 10 km away from the residential areas, and because of its geographic location, most of the people who are either students, professors, staff, workers, or even visitors enter the university compound daily for different purposes;like studying, teaching, working or perhaps just for a tour, and they all get into the university using vehicles. So, because of the vast area of the university which embeds tens of faculty buildings, scientific and technical research centers, and many other facilities, many students and visitors cannot reach their desired locations at an appropriate time. The problem gets doubled in the first few days of the university startup, and that's because of freshmen students' enrollment. To solve this problem, an online navigation system is built to help people find their destinations quickly. The platform acts as an outdoor kind of navigation system that shows the routes for buildings based on the user's search input or selection, then relatively the system will show the exact vehicle routes to the predefined appropriate parking lot, with a pedestrian path stretching to the destination and some statistical information about the buildings along with some panoramic photos of the classes are shown on the right side of the map. © 2022 IEEE.

Due to its many applications in a variety of domains, including clustering, cloud computing, and power systems, metaheuristic algorithms have attracted a lot of interest from the scholarly community. By using their self-explorative and adaptive processes, these algorithms provide certain benefits over conventional methods. One well-known metaheuristic approach is effective in resolving optimization problems with constraints and without constraints. This technique was inspired by nature, notably the echolocation ability of bat species. The Bat Algorithm (BA) makes use of a powerful search mechanism to provide the best results when compared to other algorithms of the same class. The theoretical underpinnings of the BA are explored in depth in this research, along with several changes and advancements that have improved its functionality. These enhancements include adjustments to search tactics as well as other developments. The report also thoroughly examines how the BA may be used across a variety of fields, demonstrating its competence and adaptability. The BA has been effectively used in several real-world applications, from cloud computing to clustering, and each one is carefully investigated. The study also offers a thoughtful examination of the BA's possible advancements and future possibilities. It also entails investigating novel modifications and tactics that might improve its effectiveness in handling challenging optimization issues. This study seeks to direct practitioners and academics toward more effective and efficient metaheuristic algorithms, thereby stimulating improvements in optimization approaches. It does this by summarising the present state of the BA and imagining its future development. © 2023 IEEE.

Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a prevalent eye complication among individuals with diabetes. Early detection of DR can prevent vision loss and lower associated problems. Manual diagnosis via retinal fundus images requires the expertise of medical professionals to assess several complex characteristics, including visual acuity tests, pupil dilation, and optical consistency tomography. The process is challenging, time-consuming, and prone to errors. This paper proposes a deep learning (DL) technique, DRDnet22, to detect and categorize DR into five distinct stages. The APTOS 2019 dataset is utilized in this study, which contains 3662 images. The study employs dense block and transition layer with global average pooling (GAP) techniques, and the combination of distinct Convolutional Networks (ConvNets) results in an enhanced representation beyond the utilization of features from a single ConvNet alone. To conduct an ablation analysis, the conventional pre-trained model's performance was compared. The performance evaluation points out that the proposed model achieved 81.6% accuracy, which is an advantage over other DCNN models. Despite facing a few inaccuracies, the model's competence in spotting vital features underscores its diagnostic potential. © 2024 IEEE.

A Multi-Task Deep Learning Framework for Simultaneous Detection of Thoracic Pathology through Image Classification

Thoracic diseases pose significant risks to an individual's chest health and are among the most perilous medical diseases. They can impact either one or both lungs, which leads to a severe impairment of a person’s ability to breathe normally. Some notable examples of such diseases encompass pneumonia, lung cancer, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), tuberculosis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Consequently, early and precise detection of these diseases is paramount during the diagnostic process. Traditionally, the primary methods employed for the detection involve the use of X-ray imaging or computed tomography (CT) scans. Nevertheless, due to the scarcity of proficient radiologists and the inherent similarities between these diseases, the accuracy of detection can be compromised, leading to imprecise or erroneous results. To address this challenge, scientists have turned to computer-based solutions, aiming for swift and accurate diagnoses. The primary objective of this study is to develop two machine learning models, utilizing single-task and multi-task learning frameworks, to enhance classification accuracy. Within the multi-task learning architecture, two principal approaches exist soft parameter sharing and hard parameter sharing. Consequently, this research adopts a multi-task deep learning approach that leverages CNNs to achieve improved classification performance for the specified tasks. These tasks, focusing on pneumonia and COVID-19, are processed and learned simultaneously within a multi-task model. To assess the effectiveness of the trained model, it is rigorously validated using three different real-world datasets for training and testing.

Rumors regarding epidemic diseases such as COVID 19,medicines and treatments,diagnostic methods and public emergencies can have harmful impacts on health and political,social and other aspects of people’s lives,especially during emergency situations and health *** huge amounts of content being posted to social media every second during these situations,it becomes very difficult to detect fake news(rumors)that poses threats to the stability and sustainability of the healthcare sector.A rumor is defined as a statement for which truthfulness has not been *** COVID 19,people found difficulty in obtaining the most truthful news easily because of the huge amount of unverified information on social *** methods have been applied for detecting rumors and tracking their sources for COVID 19-related ***,very few studies have been conducted for this purpose for the Arabic language,which has unique ***,this paper proposes a comprehensive approach which includes two phases:detection and *** the detection phase of the study carried out,several standalone and ensemble machine learning methods were applied on the Arcov-19 dataset.A new detection model was used which combined two models:The Genetic Algorithm Based Support Vector Machine(that works on users’and tweets’features)and the stacking ensemble method(that works on tweets’texts).In the tracking phase,several similarity-based techniques were used to obtain the top 1%of similar tweets to a target tweet/post,which helped to find the source of the *** experiments showed interesting results in terms of accuracy,precision,recall and F1-Score for rumor detection(the accuracy reached 92.63%),and showed interesting findings in the tracking phase,in terms of ROUGE L precision,recall and F1-Score for similarity techniques.

An integrated 3D model based face recognition method using synthesized facial expressions and poses for single image applications

The 3D facial expression analysis and synthesis become one of the traditional technics used in face recognition systems which lead to get results with high performance under the varying poses or expressions of the face. In this paper, we propose a new system to generate facial expressions and poses from a single captured image. Expressions are based on the six prototypes, as well as the synthesis of different types of facial ***, using them in face recognition task where only a single image is available is the main methodology. The 3D model was implemented using the process of connecting set of points as triangle meshes in a 3D space. Data sets include the indices and vertices of the triangles. 20 geometrical feature points on the face were used depict the feature of the neutral expression of the face image. In this paper, the analysis are based on facial expression and poses synthesis both using Local Binary Pattern Histograms (LBPH) and Support Vector Machine (SVM). The synthesis poses and expressions of the model, which are artificial faces have been evaluated by using two different databases including the BU-3DFE and FEI *** artificial faces are used for face recognition task, where only single face image is enough for the subjects. The average recognition rates on the BU-3DFE yielded more performance compared to the FEI database, where the average is 78.57% which is significantly 5% more than the FEI database average The recognition rate on the FEI database was reported as 71.78%. Overall, the proposed method attempts to solve the face recognition problem under the limitation of having only single image available. Artificially synthesized images are then used to build the recognition system. Results show that the system achieves satisfactory performance by using only one face image for each subject. © 2021, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.

Financial fraud poses a significant challenge to the financial industry, with increasing complexity and scale threatening global economic stability. This paper explores the use of Big Data Analytics for proactive detection and prevention of financial fraud. By analyzing large and diverse datasets, this approach aims to identify patterns and anomalies that may indicate fraudulent activities before they harm financial institutions. In this study, Smart PLS is employed as the primary method to test the structural model and the influence of various variables on the effectiveness of fraud prevention. The findings reveal that integrating Big Data Analytics into fraud prevention strategies can enhance early detection and response to fraud threats, positively impacting financial risk management. This research contributes significantly to the field of risk management by offering a framework that can be implemented to enhance financial security through advanced data analytics. © 2024 IEEE.

Stock prices are highly volatile, dynamic, and non-linear, making it very difficult to predict the exact price at any given time. In addition, stock prices are influenced by several factors, such as political conditions, the global economy, unexpected events, company financial performance, and more. Up to this point, various machine learning techniques have been employed for stock prediction;however, none of these techniques can accurately predict stock prices due to the high volatility in stock prices. Machine learning approaches, such as random forest, SVM, KNN, and logistic regression, represent some of the algorithms used for stock prediction. This paper aims to propose a new framework based on machine learning and deep learning for stock prediction. The prediction relies on the company's stock fundamentals, past performance, related stocks in the same sector, and other relevant factors. © 2023 IEEE.

In situations when the precise position of a machine is unknown,localization becomes *** research focuses on improving the position prediction accuracy over long-range(LoRa)network using an optimized machine learning-based *** order to increase the prediction accuracy of the reference point position on the data collected using the fingerprinting method over LoRa technology,this study proposed an optimized machine learning(ML)based *** signal strength indicator(RSSI)data from the sensors at different positions was first gathered via an experiment through the LoRa network in a multistory round layout *** noise factor is also taken into account,and the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)value is recorded for every RSSI *** study concludes the examination of reference point accuracy with the modified KNN method(MKNN).MKNN was created to more precisely anticipate the position of the reference *** findings showed that MKNN outperformed other algorithms in terms of accuracy and complexity.
