MOOCs are one of the developments or impacts of e-learning or online learning. Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is one of the choices for students to increase their knowledge through non-formal channels. Our research aims to determine the level of readiness of students regarding MOOC learning and opportunities for utilizing recommendation systems in students' decision-making regarding selecting MOOCs that suit their interests and needs. We conducted a survey regarding the constraints and needs of learner readiness through 5 aspects, namely 1) technical aspect, (2) social aspect, (3) communication aspect, (4) lecture readiness aspect, and (5) online discussion. The results of this research show that the main challenges that MOOC participants may face in a MOOC environment are Technical Aspects (28.25%), Social Aspects (21.47%), and Communication Aspects (18.93%). Meanwhile, the greatest strength of online learning in the MOOC environment is the social aspect (21%), the most influential and continued with technical and other aspects. Meanwhile, the lecture readiness aspect is quite good, and the online discussion aspect is the biggest aspect that influences the success of MOOC learning. Other results of this research indicate the importance of a recommendation system for MOOC students to make it easier for students to choose the right MOOC according to their interests and needs.

Applying a digital strategy is proven to be one way to reduce the infection rate of COVID-19. As a fundamental part of it, database is capable to create a data repository to predict uncertain impacts of the pandemic. The research proposed a database design for project C-Beta that emphasized on creating an ideal system to record and monitor the daily health condition of people with COVID-19. Mainly, the research adopted Connolly and Begg principles of Database Software Development Life Cycle. As a result, the database design activities produced blueprints in the forms of data dictionary, ERD, and user views. The database design delivered in the research included with several features namely user verification, restricted research membership, and flexibility in survey creation. Based on analysis and design phase, C-Beta provides a method to collect data for COVID-19 clinical study. Researchers who utilize C-Beta is able to manage multiple surveys and extract all collected records at the same time. © 2021 IEEE.

Federated Learning (FL) is a suitable solution for making use of sensitive data belonging to patients, people, companies, or industries that are obligatory to work under rigid privacy constraints. FL mainly or partially supports data privacy and security issues and provides an alternative to model problems facilitating multiple edge devices or organizations to contribute a training of a global model using a number of local data without having them. Non-IID data of FL caused from its distributed nature presents a significant performance degradation and stabilization skews. This paper introduces a novel method dynamically balancing the data distributions of clients by augmenting images to address the non-IID data problem of FL. The introduced method remarkably stabilizes the model training and improves the model's test accuracy from 83.22% to 89.43% for multi-chest diseases detection of chest X-ray images in highly non-IID FL setting. The results of IID, non-IID and non-IID with proposed method federated trainings demonstrated that the proposed method might help to encourage organizations or researchers in developing better systems to get values from data with respect to data privacy not only for healthcare but also other fields. © 2021 IEEE.

The purpose of writing this paper is to look at how factors of big data adoption affect the users of social media and brand popularity. The method used in the writing of this paper is by using path analysis and also by doing literature study to find reference material. The results of the analysis indicate that there is influence of big data adoption factors that affect the popularity of the brand. This study, using the Naïve Bayes classifier, proposes a new descriptive model for conducting a comparative review analysis on the tourism domain. The proposed model seeks to improve the understanding of tourists' experiences by visually representing their opinions between various tourist destinations. The model predicts the sentiment of tourist reviews using the Naive Bayes classifier, which is then used to generate visualizations that facilitate comparative analysis. The comparison takes two tourism sites as experimental examples. The results, in terms of accuracy, show 80% and 64% for the first and the second site respectively. The study discusses the model's implementation, effectiveness, and potential applications in the tourism industry. The findings of the study suggest that the proposed model can provide valuable insights into tourist experiences and help tourism stakeholders, such as the managements of tourism sites, the future or soon coming tourists to make informed decisions based on comparative analysis.

A cloud quantum computer is a quantum computer that can be accessed in a cloud environment through a network. Today, there are numbers of cloud quantum computing services that can be accessed by users. They are used to solve complex problems that require powerful computing. Different cloud quantum computing services deliver different architecture and performances. In our study, we conducted a research on some services to test and evaluate the performances of different cloud quantum computing services and make a comparison out of it. The test will be conducted using two different methods such as visual programming and qiskit. From the result, we can see that the amount of qubit per backend and shots per run pretty much affect the execution time of a cloud quantum computing. This test will give the users some insight and enables them to decide which cloud quantum computing services deliver better performance or faster execution time based on the specification each cloud quantum computer offers.

In this digital era, we are exposed to a large amount of data. This includes biological data, which stores information about living organisms, including Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), genes, and proteins. With the development of information technology and information system, most of available biological data are stored in an online public database. Many of the databases are free-access and easily used, which helps the users, especially researchers, to make use of the data. Among the known public biological databases are the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) Genome Browser Database and the Rat Genome Database (RGD). These two databases provide access to the biological data from different organisms. This paper aims to describe the technology of public biological databases. Also elucidated in this paper are the differences features between UCSC Genome Browser Database and the RGD. Our results showed that the UCSC contains much more biological data and features than the RGD. However, the genome browser of UCSC has a complex display, while the RGD has a simple display. Overall, both databases give the users the option to choose the most suitable database for them.

Multi-channel speech separation has been successfully applied in a complex real-world environment such as the far-field condition. The common solution to deal with the far-field condition is using a multi-channel signal captured by a structured microphone array and leveraging the inner difference between channels to enhance the speech separation performance. The spatial feature has been widely used in recent speech separation research. This feature appears to be insufficient when the location information becomes ambiguous. This is known as the spatial ambiguity problem. In order to deal with the spatial ambiguity problem, this study proposes an attention mechanism for the Temporal-Spatial Neural Filter (TSNF), in which the channel attention on merged features and the feature map of 1D convolution block in the temporal convolution network is proposed. The proposed method is evaluated on the multi-channel reverberant dataset which is built based on the WSJ0-2mix dataset. The dataset is simulated in the real-environment room by using the Room Impulse Response generator. In the experimental results, the proposed methods produced the SI -SNR improvement of about 1.2dB in close speakers' case, while a small decrease of 0.1dB in other cases. © 2021 APSIPA.

Studies are limited that investigate the relationship of students’ attitudes toward science and their engagement in the teaching-learning process to science literacy in a higher education setting and within the context of a pandemic. Hence, this cross-sectional, correlational study seeks to determine if (1) students’ attitudes toward science are significantly related to science literacy;(2) student course engagement is significantly related to science literacy;(3) students’ attitudes toward science and their course engagement are significant predictors of science literacy. 67 undergraduate students taking the mandated Science, Technology, and Society during the second semester of the academic year 2020 to 2021 in an institution of Jesuit higher education in the Philippines were surveyed in this study. multidisciplinary collaboration between public health, system engineering, and UX is able to generate a solution in healthcare problem like stunting. The principle of Agile UX gathers requirements to generate an application design. Currently, various website and mobile applications are available to be utilized for stunting research. StuntingDB is one of many web-based applications that specialized in stunting data management. The application required several types of users to operate hierarchically. This research focused on Public Health Officers’ workflow that require a solution to in the form of assessment module for stunting DBMS by using Agile UX principle. The method collaborates agile team and UX team to solve Public Health Officer's difficulty in changing stunting status at pre-saved child patient's profile. Collaboration of both agile team and UX team successfully proposed an application design that system design.
