higher education institution in improving soft skills students is offering additional activities that are useful and offer added value to students in the era of higher education. In general, students need to improve their soft skills in the areas of self-management, teamwork, communication, initiative and entrepreneurship, problem solving decision-making, planning and organization, etc. With these soft skills, students are expected to have more added value when studying in higher education. This qualitative paper discusses business processes and also user interface for application in higher education institutions to attract more students to participate in activities held by faculty committee or student activity units. With this research, students can be more interesting in terms of gamification in the form of obtaining an e-badge if it has reached a level in the soft skills of the higher education institution. © 2019 IEEE.

The rapid growth of e-commerce for sustainable industry in Indonesia leads to competition for customer acquisition. Instead of gaining loyalty, customers are trapped in a price war and take advantage to compare and choose the one with the best offer. This study aims to analyze important factors of an online retailer to determine customer loyalty in the productive age group. This study contributes to design a questionnaire that can be utilized in analyzing customer loyalty to a retailer in e-commerce (popularly known as the term e-tailer). The questionnaire can be distributed through the Internet to gather demography, population, and e-loyalty factors. Questionnaire design is proposed containing three parts: Part A – Demography, Part B – Targeted Population, and Part C - e-Loyalty Factors. While Part A records basic information and Part B validates, Part C records respondent's assessment to an e - tailer. Therefore, the outcome delivers a data engineering method to help e-tailers determine important factors to gain customer loyalty.

Special needs children have a tendency to play more games than children with development in general. Game play activities are often carried out by children with special needs can be a support learning and therapy due to his players the game has interaction without having to meet with his co-star in person. Starting from these data, this study aims to create a model of the System Dynamics approach. Data collected will be simulated by variables other support. The simulation results of the model will be seen autistic children therapy behavior. The results are then analyzed to create an alternative to the existing model. The benefit of this research is to know the description of game play to treatment of children with special needs. The results of simulation showed that playing games in an average time children with autism play therapy can help improve the quality of children with autism if children with autism play the game in a long time actually showed a decrease. © 2019 IEEE.

Proton beam therapy is an advanced form of cancer radiotherapy that uses high-energy proton beams to deliver precise and targeted radiation to tumors. This helps to mit-igate unnecessary radiation exposure in healthy tissues. Real-time imaging of prompt gamma rays with Compton cameras has been suggested to improve therapy efficacy. However, the camera's non-zero time resolution leads to incorrect interaction classifications and noisy images that are insufficient for accurately assessing proton delivery in patients. To address the challenges posed by the Compton camera's image quality, machine learning techniques are employed to classify and refine the generated data. These machine-learning techniques include recurrent and feedforward neural networks. A PyTorch model was designed to improve the data captured by the Compton camera. This decision was driven by PyTorch's flexibility, powerful capabilities in handling sequential data, and enhanced G PU usage. This accelerates the model's computations on large-scale radiotherapy data. Through hyperparameter tuning, the validation accuracy of our PyTorch model has been improved from an initial 7 % to over 60 %. Moreover, the PyTorch Distributed Data Parallelism strategy was used to train the RNN models on multiple G PU s, which significantly reduced the training time with a minor impact on model accuracy.

OBJECTIVEThis study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a chatbot-based prototype model called SCIMORT, designed to improve the communication skills of undergraduate students in Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. MATERIALS & METHODSThis pilot and survey study involved the development of the SCIMORT module, which included the creation of a 3D virtual patient with visual and auditory cues. The SCIMORT module was evaluated by surveying 28 participants from the PDR cohorts. The questionnaire was designed to assess user acceptance and engagement of SCIMORT, and the expert validation of the questionnaire was assessed using Content Validity Ratio and Cronbach Alpha Coefficient. RESULTSA total of 28 participants from the PDR cohorts were enrolled in these projects. In the first phase, the virtual patient developed for SCIMORT exhibited visual cues such as blinking and eye movement, as well as auditory cues, including verbal responses and intonation of voice. During the second phase, expert validation of the questionnaire yielded favourable RESULTS: , with a Content Validity Ratio exceeding 83% and a Cronbach Alpha Coefficient surpassing 70%. However, both the control group (users' acceptance = 3.919 ± 1.245; users' engagement = 3.526 ± 1.270) and the Trial group (users' acceptance = 3.953 ± 1.114; users' engagement = 3.568 ± 1.142) showed neutral outcomes. CONCLUSIONThe SCIMORT module proved to be an effective tool for pre-clinical learning of communication skills in radiotherapy. However, the control and the Trial groups exhibited neutral results regarding users' acceptance and engagement. Further improvements are needed to make the module more interactive and adaptable to student needs.

Admission of new students in 2019 through zoning still faces many obstacles, one of which is the readiness of the application to determine the distance of a student's house from the nearest recommended school. The purpose of this study is to provide better recommendations regarding the shortest and most accurate distance in the zoning system for admission of junior high school students in Malang by using the Generate and Test algorithm without having to do it manually or using other map applications. The results of this study indicate that the distance value obtained from the haversine formula corresponds to the original distance measured through a zoning application that applies the Generate and Test algorithm to measure the closest distance from the student's location. The recommended distance is given through a process of repetition and comparison of nodes. By using the generate and test algorithm for the search process the shortest distance from the user to the destination school has an average time of 6.2MB, the level of accuracy is the same as the Haversine calculation. © 2020 IEEE.

Politic is one of the most favorite topics to discuss in social media for people in Indonesia. It was proven when a people movement to support the Commission of Corruption Eradication (KPK) named #SaveKPK has been enlived for ten years and become a trending topic on Twitter for several times. In this research, all tweets contain `#SaveKPK' are crawled and compiled using an alternative algorithm to get twitter historical data instead of using Twitter API. The result described the characteristic of the dataset statistically, from the most frequently used words to the most active users. A clustering algorithm named Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) was run over the gathered text dataset to discover most relevant keywords using unsupervised learning approach.

When a charged particle penetrates through an optical interface, photon emissions emerge—a phenomenon known as transition radiation. Being paramount to fundamental physics, transition radiation has enabled many applications from high-energy particle identification to novel light sources. A rule of thumb in transition radiation is that the radiation intensity generally decreases with the decrease of particle velocity v; as a result, low-energy particles are not favored in practice. Here, we find that there exist situations where transition radiation from particles with extremely low velocities (e.g., v/c<10−3) exhibits comparable intensity as that from high-energy particles (e.g., v/c=0.999), where c is the light speed in free space. The comparable radiation intensity implies an extremely high photon extraction efficiency from low-energy particles, up to 8 orders of magnitude larger than that from high-energy particles. This exotic phenomenon of low-velocity-favored transition radiation originates from the interference of the excited Ferrell-Berreman modes in an ultrathin epsilon-near-zero slab. Our findings may provide a promising route toward the design of integrated light sources based on low-energy electrons and specialized detectors for beyond-standard-model particles.

Current methods of digitally processing communication signals, which are distorted in the computer systems communication channels, are often based on the use of amplitude, phase and spectral characteristics. Correlation methods are also used to ensure immunity. A common disadvantage of these methods is the need for significant computational cost. One of the partial solutions to the described problem may be to use the signals probabilistic characteristics, in particular information entropy. This approach is based on the representation of digital message bits to the corresponding fragments of broadband signals with manipulated information entropy. In fact, signals are formed on the basis of random processes with normal distribution of possible states. The use of passive fragments in such signals can reduce the energy cost of data transmission. When passing through a communication channel, passive fragments are filled with their own channel noise. As a result, the channel's own noise extends the number of possible signal amplitude states and can be used to improve the resolution. According to the results of studies, the dependence of the probability of distortion of the information message binary symbol on the normalized signal/noise ratio is obtained. It is shown that the use of passive fragments improves noise immunity by 3-4 dB within the normalized signal/noise ratio at the input from-5 dB to 14 dB. However, at 14 dB or more, noise immunity worsens. Thus, the main scope of the proposed method can be problematic channels with low signal/noise ratio. © 2019 IEEE.

Context: The technical debt (TD) concept inspires the development of useful methods and tools that support TD identification and management. However, there is a lack of evidence on how different TD identification tools could be complementary and, also, how human-based identification compares with them. Objective: To understand how to effectively elicit TD from humans, to investigate several types of tools for TD identification, and to understand the developers’ point of view about TD indicators and items reported by tools. Method: We asked developers to identify TD items from a real software project. We also collected the output of three tools to automatically identify TD and compared the results in terms of their locations in the source code. Then, we collected developers’ opinions on the identification process through a focus group. Results: Aggregation seems to be an appropriate way to combine TD reported by developers. The tools used cannot help in identifying many important TD types, so involving humans is necessary. Developers reported that the tools would help them to identify TD faster or more accurately and that project priorities and current development activities are important to be considered together, along with the values of principal and interest, when deciding to pay off a debt. Conclusion: This work contributes to the TD landscape, which depicts an understanding between different TD types and how they are best discovered. © 2019, The Author(s).
