On self-adaptive 5G network slice QoS management system: a deep reinforcement learning approach

Along with the development of mobile network communication standards to the fifth generation, the complexity of network usage patterns has increased. The concept of network slicing is proposed to improve the utilization rate of network and computing resources, and to provide corresponding service quality for different network applications. In this paper, we propose a self-adaptive quality of service (QoS) management system which can be added to the 5G core network architecture, using network usage behavior and service level agreements (SLA) to generate corresponding QoS marking rules and enhance 5G core networks’ QoS mechanism. In response to the fact that user behavior changes over time, our system leverages deep reinforcement learning methods to dynamically generate QoS marking rules based on user behavior. In terms of experiments, we use a NS-3 network simulator to initially validate the system and observe that, as the training progresses, the measured network QoS KPIs of users become closer to the SLA. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

Local Region Frequency Guided Dynamic Inconsistency Network for Deepfake Video Detection

In recent years,with the rapid development of deepfake technology,a large number of deepfake videos have emerged on the Internet,which poses a huge threat to national politics,social stability,and personal *** many existing deepfake detection methods exhibit excellent performance for known manipulations,their detection capabilities are not strong when faced with unknown ***,in order to obtain better generalization ability,this paper analyzes global and local inter-frame dynamic inconsistencies from the perspective of spatial and frequency domains,and proposes a Local region Frequency Guided Dynamic Inconsistency Network(LFGDIN).The network includes two parts:Global SpatioTemporal Network(GSTN)and Local Region Frequency Guided Module(LRFGM).The GSTN is responsible for capturing the dynamic information of the entire face,while the LRFGM focuses on extracting the frequency dynamic information of the eyes and *** LRFGM guides the GTSN to concentrate on dynamic inconsistency in some significant local regions through local region alignment,so as to improve the model's detection *** on the three public datasets(FF++,DFDC,and Celeb-DF)show that compared with many recent advanced methods,the proposed method achieves better detection results when detecting deepfake videos of unknown manipulation types.

Circuit sensitivity of sensors or tags without battery is one practical constraint for ambient backscatter communication *** letter considers using beamforming to reduce the sensitivity constraint and evaluates the corresponding performance in terms of the tag activation distance and the system ***,we derive the activation probabilities of the tag in the case of single-antenna and multi-antenna ***,we obtain the capacity expressions for the ambient backscatter communication system with beamforming and illustrate the power allocation that maximizes the system capacity when the tag is ***,simulation results are provided to corroborate our proposed studies.

Hyperspectral Image Classification Based on A Multi-Scale Weighted Kernel Network

Recently, many deep learning models have shown excellent performance in hyperspectral image(HSI) classification. Among them, networks with multiple convolution kernels of different sizes have been proved to achieve richer receptive fields and extract more representative features than those with a single convolution kernel. However, in most networks, different-sized convolution kernels are usually used directly on multibranch structures, and the image features extracted from them are fused directly and simply. In this paper, to fully and adaptively explore the multiscale information in both spectral and spatial domains of HSI, a novel multi-scale weighted kernel network(MSWKNet) based on an adaptive receptive field is proposed. First, the original HSI cubic patches are transformed to the input features by combining the principal component analysis and one-dimensional spectral convolution. Then, a three-branch network with different convolution kernels is designed to convolve the input features, and adaptively adjust the size of the receptive field through the attention mechanism of each branch. Finally, the features extracted from each branch are fused together for the task of *** on three well-known hyperspectral data sets show that MSWKNet outperforms many deep learning networks in HSI classification.

OptiFog: A Framework for Acquiring State information and Predicting Resource Availability for Task Offloading in Cooperative Fog-Networks

The primary objective of fog computing is to minimize the reliance of IoT devices on the cloud by leveraging the resources of fog network. Typically, IoT devices offload computation tasks to fog to meet different task requirements such as latency in task execution, computation costs, etc. So, selecting such a fog node that meets task requirements is a crucial challenge. To choose an optimal fog node, access to each node's resource availability information is essential. Existing approaches often assume state availability or depend on a subset of state information to design mechanisms tailored to different task requirements. In this paper, OptiFog: a cluster-based fog computing architecture for acquiring the state information followed by optimal fog node selection and task offloading mechanism is proposed. Additionally, a continuous time Markov chain based stochastic model for predicting the resource availability on fog nodes is proposed. This model prevents the need to frequently synchronize the resource availability status of fog nodes, and allows to maintain an updated state information. Extensive simulation results show that OptiFog lowers task execution latency considerably, and schedules almost all the tasks at the fog layer compared to the existing state-of-the-art. IEEE

Hybrid dense matching features for cloud-based face recognition

Cloud computing is a computing service done not on a local device but an internet connection to a data centre infrastructure. The cloud computing system also provides a scalability solution where cloud computing can increase the resources needed when doing larger data processing. In recent years, face bio-metric plays an important role in biometric authentication, where security is the primary concern. The two major difficulties to be addressed in face recognition are illumination and pose variation. This work proposes a cloud computing-based face recognition technique by consolidating four-patch LBP and the local landmark features to the acquired feature vector. After that, the SVM is utilised to recognise the individual. The feature set used for training and testing is also made available in the cloud. At some stage in the training phase, the kernel parameters of SVM are optimised with GWO to improve the recognition performance. This method yields a maximum recognition accuracy of 99.00% with LFW and 98.0% accuracy with YTF. Copyright © 2023 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

FedBully: A Cross-Device Federated Approach for Privacy Enabled Cyber Bullying Detection using Sentence Encoders

Cyberbullying has become one of the most pressing concerns for online platforms, putting individuals at risk and raising severe public concerns. Recent studies have shown a significant correlation between declining mental health and cyberbullying. Automated detection offers a great solution to this problem;however, the sensitivity of client-data becomes a concern during data collection, and as such, access may be restricted. This paper demonstrates FedBully, a federated approach for cyberbullying detection using sentence encoders for feature extraction. This paper introduces concepts of secure aggregation to ensure client privacy in a cross-device learning system. Optimal hyper-parameters were studied through comprehensive experiments, and a computationally and communicationally inexpensive network is proposed. Experiments reveal promising results with up to 93% classification AUC (Area Under the Curve) using only dense networks to fine-tune sentence embeddings on IID datasets and 91% AUC on non-IID datasets, where IID refers to Independent and Identically Distributed data. The analysis also shows that data independence profoundly impacts network performance, with AUC decreasing by a mean of 5.1% between Non-IID and IID. A rich and extensive study has also been performed on client network size and secure aggregation protocols, which prove the robustness and practicality of the proposed model. The novel approach presented offers an efficient and practical solution to training a cross-device cyberbullying detector while ensuring client-privacy. © 2023 River Publishers.

Detection of color images that have undergone double compression is a critical aspect of digital image *** the existence of various methods capable of detecting double Joint Photographic Experts Group(JPEG) compression,they are unable to address the issue of mixed double compression resulting from the use of different compression *** particular,the implementation of Joint Photographic Experts Group 2000(JPEG2000)as the secondary compression standard can result in a decline or complete loss of performance in existing *** tackle this challenge of JPEG+JPEG2000 compression,a detection method based on quaternion convolutional neural networks(QCNN) is *** QCNN processes the data as a quaternion,transforming the components of a traditional convolutional neural network(CNN) into a quaternion *** relationships between the color channels of the image are preserved,and the utilization of color information is ***,the method includes a feature conversion module that converts the extracted features into quaternion statistical features,thereby amplifying the evidence of double *** results indicate that the proposed QCNN-based method improves,on average,by 27% compared to existing methods in the detection of JPEG+JPEG2000 compression.
