Gesture recognition has been widely used in many situations, such as human-computer interaction, virtual reality and smart home. To meet the current demands for accuracy and speed in gesture recognition, this paper proposes an improved algorithm based on YOLOv8, referred to as YOLOv8-GR. By replacing the original YOLOv8 detection head with a Dynamic Head, we integrate scale-aware, spatial-aware, and task-aware attention mechanisms within a unified framework. To enhance context information capture, the SPPF (Spatial Pyramid Pooling - Fast) module is optimized to a modified SPPF-LSKA (Large Separable Kernel Attention) module. In addition, we employ the EIoU loss function for more accurate evaluation of object detection results. To evaluate our algorithm, we integrate a gesture dataset in complex and diverse scenarios through network and field shooting annotations. Compared to the original YOLOv8, the proposed YOLOv8-GR achieves a 22.5% improvement in mAP50 and a 10.0% improvement in mAP50-95 on our dataset. We also compare YOLOv8-GR with the MobileNetv2-based SSD, which is a kind of one-stage object detection algorithm. While maintaining similar recognition accuracy, the computational cost of YOLOv8-GR is 9.9 GFLOPs, which is 15.8% of SSD, and our algorithm can be deployed on Raspberry Pi 4B. © 2024 IEEE.

The big data processing framework Spark is used to power a parameterizable recommender system that can make recommendations for music based on a user’s individual tastes and take into account a variety of musical tonal qualities. The system as it is presently built is completely scalable, which means that additional songs can be contributed to the data, the cluster size could be increased, and new types of audio information, in addition to more cutting-edge similarity evaluations, may be included. Another issue discussed in this research paper is the parallel collection of required audio characteristics on a computer cluster. Song recommendations for a dataset including more than 114,000 songs may be created on a Spark cluster with 16 nodes in under 12 s by integrating eight distinct audio feature types and similarity assessments. After the features have been retrieved, they are sent to the Spark-based recommender system to be processed. The calculated distance was displayed, examined, and graphically depicted. By computing the distance depending on the melody, rhythmic, and timbral components of the music, the final software controls song suggestion. © 2023, The Author(s).

3TFL-XLnet-CP: A Novel Transformer-Based Crop Yield Prediction Framework with Weighted Loss Based 3-Tier Feature Learning Model

The advancement of crop yield prediction through artificial intelligence (AI) has gained significant attention. However, the existing AI-based approaches for maximizing agricultural productivity, specifically in crop yield prediction, have not consistently delivered satisfactory results. In response to this challenge, we propose a novel framework named as Three Tier Feature Learning with XLnet based Crop Prediction (3TFL-XLnet-CP) that enhances agricultural productivity by accurately predicting crop yield. The 3TFL-XLnet-CP framework employs a three-tier feature learning approach in combination with the powerful XLnet transformer-based crop prediction model. The three-tier feature learning involves the integration of Spiking Neural Network (SNN), Graphical Neural Network (GNN), and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to extract distinct feature vectors from the preprocessed data. These feature vectors are then concatenated using Jaccard Similarity to measure their similarity score. Additionally, a weighted Loss function is introduced to optimize feature learning, further enhanced by a novel self-adaptive Spider Monkey Optimization algorithm (SASMO). The concatenated features are subsequently fed into the classification layer for making precise crop yield predictions. The proposed model is implemented using the Python platform and evaluated against existing models such as ANN, RNN, DNN, and BiLSTM. The comparison demonstrates the superiority of our proposed 3TFL-XLnet-CP framework in accurately predicting crop yield. © The Author(s) 2025.

Fruits are absolutely delicious for the most part, but more importantly, they are good for healthy life. Fruits are nature's candy and offer all sorts of health benefits besides the great taste. They provide necessary nutrients to the body so that it will not be susceptible to disease or other ailments. Fruits contain enough fiber to keep our digestive system in top health form. Fruits also helps to regulate the water level in body as well as your blood sugar levels, which means that will usually feel hungry less often if we consumes a lot of fruits. The easier it is for people to recognize that a fruit is ripe and ready for selling at the market allows the farmers, in some cases, to sell their crop early before it would normally spoil. If we look closely, we see that many times people don't buy something because it appears rotten or way past its peak ripeness, which demonstrates how products spoil right on time. This study proposed a user-convenient system for fruit ripeness detection using the convolutional neural network (CNN) based on RipeNet structure. © 2025 IEEE.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in developed countries, as it causes many deaths annually. Despite the availability of effective treatments, heart disease remains a significant challenge to public health, so early detection is essential in enhancing patient outcomes and reducing mortality. Artificial intelligence seeks to help physicians make the right decisions about a patient's health condition. In this regard, the authors decided to utilize machine learning techniques (k-nearest neighbor, decision tree, linear regression, support vector machine, naïve bayes, multilayer perceptron, random forest) to contribute to the classification of the heart disease dataset, where it is determined whether a person is suffering or not. After that, the execution of all techniques will be measured, and the accuracy of each technique will be compared to determine the most suitable performer. The public dataset is organized from the UC Irvine machine learning repository and have significantly different characteristics. The dataset will be divided such that 80% of the data is designated for training and 20% is designated for testing. This article concluded that the adequate performance is for the multilayer perceptron technique, as it gained an accuracy of more than 88%, while the poor performance is for the decision tree technique, as it gained an accuracy of more than 79%. © 2024 College of education, Al-Iraqia University. Classification of brain images is a very challenging problem among the most helpful and commonly employed procedures in the medical system. Deep learning, a subset of artificial intelligence, has pioneered new techniques for automatic medical image investigation. The goal of this study was to create two deep learning-based hybrid models to segment and classify brain MRI data. The first hybrid model is a combination of Fully Convolutional Networks and Residual Networks for segmentation and classification. The second is a hybrid of SegNet for segmentation and MobileNet for classification. The analysis is based on a labelled dataset containing images of glioma, meningioma, pituitary, and no tumor. The hybrid models proposed above are built using Python. The suggested models exhibit a high accuracy of 93.9% and 91.3% for a brain MRI dataset, respectively. Furthermore, the proposed models were compared and evaluated against other existing hybrid models in terms of dice score, Positive predictive value, False predictive value, precision, recall, specificity, and F1 score. As a result, the proposed deep-learning technique can assist doctors as well as radiologists in detecting brain tumors early. © 2023, The Institution of Engineers (India).

Software maintenance is the process of fixing,modifying,and improving software deliverables after they are delivered to the *** can benefit from offshore software maintenance outsourcing(OSMO)in different ways,including time savings,cost savings,and improving the software quality and *** of the hardest challenges for the OSMO vendor is to choose a suitable project among several clients’*** goal of the current study is to recommend a machine learning-based decision support system that OSMO vendors can utilize to forecast or assess the project of OSMO *** projects belong to OSMO vendors,having offices in developing countries while providing services to developed *** the current study,Extreme Learning Machine’s(ELM’s)variant called Deep Extreme Learning Machines(DELMs)is used.A novel dataset consisting of 195 projects data is proposed to train the model and to evaluate the overall efficiency of the proposed *** proposed DELM’s based model evaluations achieved 90.017%training accuracy having a value with 1.412×10^(-3) Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and 85.772%testing accuracy with 1.569×10^(-3) RMSE with five DELMs hidden *** results express that the suggested model has gained a notable recognition rate in comparison to any previous *** current study also concludes DELMs as the most applicable and useful technique for OSMO client’s project assessment.
