In Morocco, human activities impact negatively natural resources, and the management of these resources remains difficult considering the multitude of actors, the non-coordination of users and exploiters and the non-sharing of information with actors. All this confronts us with great challenges that can lead to bad results and sometimes even to the depletion of certain resources in specific areas. Nowadays, with new computer technologies, such as Cloud Computing, GIS, IoT, etc., several researchers around the world have focused on the use and management of natural resources. In this work, we will present a literature review of existing work and we describe a theoretical architecture. Also, we present the results of interviews and surveys conducted with actors operating in the management of natural resources in oasis areas, providing answers based on new trends in information technology, especially Cloud Computing. © 2020 ACM.

SpreadFGL: Edge-Client Collaborative Federated Graph Learning with Adaptive Neighbor Generation

Federated Graph Learning (FGL) has garnered widespread attention by enabling collaborative training on multiple clients for semi-supervised classification tasks. However, most existing FGL studies do not well consider the missing inter-client topology information in real-world scenarios, causing insufficient feature aggregation of multi-hop neighbor clients during model training. Moreover, the classic FGL commonly adopts the FedAvg but neglects the high training costs when the number of clients expands, resulting in the overload of a single edge server. To address these important challenges, we propose a novel FGL framework, named SpreadFGL, to promote the information flow in edge-client collaboration and extract more generalized potential relationships between clients. In SpreadFGL, an adaptive graph imputation generator incorporated with a versatile assessor is first designed to exploit the potential links between subgraphs, without sharing raw data. Next, a new negative sampling mechanism is developed to make SpreadFGL concentrate on more refined information in downstream tasks. To facilitate load balancing at the edge layer, SpreadFGL follows a distributed training manner that enables fast model convergence. Using real-world testbed and benchmark graph datasets, extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed SpreadFGL. Indonesia's earthquake vulnerability demands effective data collection, especially in remote areas with communication challenges. While seismometers are widely deployed, critical data points are essential during disasters. Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites were selected for this study due to their lower latency and reduced transmission power requirements compared to geostationary satellites, making them ideal for lowpower IoT applications such as LoRa. The combination of LEO satellites and LoRa technology provides a cost-effective, longrange solution for disaster data transmission in remote areas where traditional communication infrastructure may not be feasible. Given LoRa's limited data transfer capacity, preprocessing seismometer minimal data points before transmission is sufficient to optimize data monitoring. This paper demonstrates the feasibility of using LoRa for seismometer data collection. In collaboration with the MicroOrbiter-1 satellite, the in-orbit test used a spreading factor of 7, a bandwidth of 125 kHz, and an RF power output of approximately 38 dBm, successfully transmitted key sensor parameters. Two transmission modes were tested: a 16-byte data packet and a 32-byte data packet for the LoRa transmission. The results indicated that the 32-byte mode provided more reliable performance than the 16-byte mode. This successful test proves that the concept of satellite-based LoRa for seismic data collection is viable and can be applied to disaster data collection in Indonesia with notable considerations.

Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) technology enables information exchange between vehicles and road infrastructure. Specifically, when a vehicle approaches a roadside unit (RSU), it can exchange information with the RSU to obtain accurate data that assists in driving. As the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 16, which includes the 5G New Radio (NR) Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) standards, vehicles typically adopt mode-2 communication using sensing-based semi-persistent scheduling (SPS). By this approach, vehicles identify resources through a selection window and exclude ineligible resources based on information from a sensing window. However, vehicles often drive at different speeds, resulting in varying amounts of data transmission with RSUs as they pass by, which leads to unfair access. Therefore, developing an scheme that accounts for different vehicle speeds to achieve fair access across the network is essential. This paper formulates an optimization problem for vehicular environment and proposes a multi-objective optimization scheme to address it by adjusting the selection window size. The fiercely competitive business environment and increasingly personalized customization needs are driving the digital transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry. IIoT intelligence, which can provide innovative and efficient solutions for various aspects of the manufacturing value chain, illuminates the path of transformation for the manufacturing industry. It's time to provide a systematic vision of IIoT intelligence. However, existing surveys often focus on specific areas of IIoT intelligence, leading researchers and readers to have biases in their understanding of IIoT intelligence, that is, believing that research in one direction is the most important for the development of IIoT intelligence, while ignoring contributions from other directions. Therefore, this paper provides a comprehensive overview of IIoT intelligence. We first conduct an in-depth analysis of the inevitability of manufacturing transformation and study the successful experiences from the practices of Chinese enterprises. Then we give our definition of IIoT intelligence and demonstrate the value of IIoT intelligence for industries in fucntions, operations, deployments, and application. Afterwards, we propose a hierarchical development architecture for IIoT intelligence, which consists of five layers. The practical values of technical upgrades at each layer are illustrated by a close look on lighthouse factories. Following that, we identify seven kinds of technologies that accelerate the transformation of manufacturing, and clarify their contributions. The ethical implications and environmental impacts of adopting IIoT intelligence in manufacturing are analyzed as well. The sixth-generation (6G) network is expected to achieve global coverage based on the space-air-ground integrated network, and the latest satellite network will play an important role in it. The introduction of inter-satellite links (ISLs) can significantly improve the throughput of the satellite network, and recently gets lots of attention from both academia and industry. In this paper, we illustrate the advantages of using the laser for ISLs due to its longer communication distance, higher data speed, and stronger security. Specifically, space-borne laser terminals with the acquisition, pointing and tracking mechanism which realize long-distance communication are illustrated, advanced modulation and multiplexing modes that make high communication rates possible are introduced, and the security of ISLs ensured by the characteristics of both laser and the optical channel is also analyzed. Moreover, some open issues such as advanced optical beam steering, routing and scheduling algorithm, and integrated sensing and communication are discussed to direct future research. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

Electromagnetic radiation (EMR) safety has always been a critical reason for hindering the development of magneticenabled wireless power transfer technology. People focus on the actual received energy at charging devices while paying attention to their health. Thus, we study this significant problem in this paper, and propose a universal safety guaranteed power-delivered-to-load (PDL) maximization scheme (called SafeGuard). Technically, we first utilize the off-the-shelf electromagnetic simulator to perform the EMR distribution analysis to ensure the universality of the method. Then, we innovatively introduce the concept of multiple importance sampling for achieving efficient EMR safety constraint extraction. Finally, we treat the proposed optimization problem as an optimal boundary point search problem from the perspective of space geometry, and devise a brand-new grid-based multi-constraint parallel processing algorithm to efficiently solve it. We implement a system prototype for SafeGuard, and conduct extensive experiments to evaluate it. The results indicate that our SafeGuard can obviously improve the achieved PDL by up to 1.75× compared with the state-of-the-art baseline while guaranteeing EMR safety. Furthermore, SafeGuard can accelerate the solution process by 29.12× compared with the traditional numerical method to satisfy the fast optimization requirement of wireless charging systems.

Surgical guide plate is an important tool for the dental implant surgery. However, the design process heavily relies on the dentist to manually simulate the implant angle and depth. When deep neural networks have been applied to assist the dentist quickly locates the implant position, most of them are not able to determine the implant depth. Inspired by the video grounding task which localizes the starting and ending time of the target video segment, in this paper, we simplify the implant depth prediction as video grounding and develop a Texture Perceive Implant Depth Prediction network (TPNet), which enables us to directly output the implant depth without complex measurements of oral bone. TPNet consists of an implant region detector (IRD) and an implant depth prediction network (IDPNet). IRD is an object detector designed to crop the candidate implant volume from the CBCT, which greatly saves the computation resource. IDPNet takes the cropped CBCT data to predict the implant depth. A Texture Perceive Loss (TPL) is devised to enable the encoder of IDPNet to perceive the texture variation among slices. Extensive experiments on a large dental implant dataset demonstrated that the proposed TPNet achieves superior performance than the existing methods. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) has been considered a key feature of next-generation wireless networks. This paper investigates the joint design of the radar receive filter and dual-functional transmit waveform for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) ISAC system. While optimizing the mean square error (MSE) of the radar receive spatial response and maximizing the achievable rate at the communication receiver, besides the constraints of full-power radar receiving filter and unimodular transmit sequence, we control the maximum range sidelobe level, which is often overlooked in existing ISAC waveform design literature, for better radar imaging performance. To solve the formulated optimization problem with convex and nonconvex constraints, we propose an inexact augmented Lagrangian method (ALM) algorithm. For each subproblem in the proposed inexact ALM algorithm, we custom-design a block successive upper-bound minimization (BSUM) scheme with closed-form solutions for all blocks of variable to enhance the computational efficiency. Convergence analysis shows that the proposed algorithm is guaranteed to provide a stationary and feasible solution. Extensive simulations are performed to investigate the impact of different system parameters on communication and radar imaging performance.
