Warehouses are an important logistic component of various companies. Warehouses may have different layouts, equipment and their own features. Optimization of warehouse operations can decrease overhead costs and increase the economic efficiency of industry. The technological process of steel sheet production at a metallurgical company includes two major stages: casting of liquid steel into billets and rolling of these billets on a rolling mill. In order to coordinate the productivity of these two stages and to be able to fulfill orders promptly, a warehouse of slabs (billets) is used. Billets of different parties and steel grades are stored in stacks. The billets are moved to the warehouse for storage and from the warehouse to the rolling mill by bridge cranes. In this paper the problem of optimization of the process of continuous cast billets storage is solved to minimize the number of slab handling operations. The problem is decomposed into two subproblems SLAP (Storage Location Assignment Problem) and CSP (Crane Scheduling Problem). A modified genetic algorithm was applied to solve the problem. Using a simulation model of the warehouse, the efficiency of the algorithm was evaluated using different approaches to take the restrictions imposed on the process of slab handling into account. It is shown that the most effective is the algorithm in which there is no restriction on the placement of stacks of billets belonging to one melting. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, the protection of the intellectual property rights of digital media has become a considerable issue. Especially using digital image editing tools has made it very easy and fast to manipulate images. Therefore, manipulation detection of digital images has become a necessity. This article presents a novel Frei-Chen based self-embedding fragile watermarking technique implemented to (Formula presented.) blocks for image manipulate detection. The block key and the Frei-Chen based block feature are calculated from the non-overlapping image blocks of size (Formula presented.). Exclusive-OR operations are applied to the Frei-Chen based block feature and the block key. After, a nine bit block authentication key is generated from the Frei-Chen based block feature and the block key. Then the generated authentication key is embedded in the least significant bits of each block. Experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed method through the detection of the various attacks and obtain the excellent visual quality of watermarked images. Also, the results demonstrate that the proposed method detects all of the manipulated areas plainly. © 2022 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Background: In this Innovative Practice Work in Progress, we present our initial efforts to integrate formal methods, with a focus on model-checking specifications written in Temporal Logic of Actions (TLA+), into computer science education, targeting undergraduate juniors/seniors and graduate students. Many safety-critical systems and services crucially depend on correct and reliable behavior. Formal methods can play a key role in ensuring correct and safe system behavior, yet remain underutilized in educational and industry contexts. Aims: We aim to (1) qualitatively assess the state of formal methods in computer science programs, (2) construct level-appropriate examples that could be included midway into one's undergraduate studies, (3) demonstrate how to address successive 'failuresy' through progressively stringent safety and liveness requirements, and (4) establish an ongoing framework for assessing interest and relevance among students. Methods: We detail our pedagogical strategy for embedding TLA+ into an intermediate course on formal methods at our institution. After starting with a refresher on mathematical logic, students specify the rules of simple puzzles in TLA+ and use its included model checker (known as TLC) to find a solution. We gradually escalate to more complex, dynamic, event-driven systems, such as the control logic of a microwave oven, where students will study safety and liveness requirements. We subsequently discuss explicit concurrency, along with thread safety and deadlock avoidance, by modeling bounded counters and buffers. Results: Our initial findings suggest that through careful curricular design and choice of examples and tools, it is possible to inspire and cultivate a new generation of software engineers proficient in formal methods. Conclusions: Our initial efforts suggest that 84% of our students had a positive experience in our formal methods course. An analysis of modern computer network intrusion detection systems was carried out. The application of machine and deep learning methods for classification problems has been investigated. The UNSW-NB15 dataset, developed at the Australian Cyber Security Center's (ACCS) Cyber Range Laboratory, contains data on normal network operations and synthetic intrusions. Data pre-processing was performed, including class balancing using the SMOTEENN method and selection of informative features using the Recursive Feature Elimination method. The possibility of using the stacking meta-algorithm to detect intrusions into computer networks has been investigated. A new algorithm for generating packets of raw data is proposed, which generates two sets of training data: one for training basic models, the other for a meta-model. A study of the effectiveness of using Random Forest, ANN, K Nearest Neighbor methods and Support Vector Machine and Random Forest as a decision-making meta-model was conducted. The use of the stacking meta-algorithm with the proposed algorithm for forming packets of output data, as well as basic models and a meta-model, led to a significant improvement in the quality of the model. It was found that, on average, recall and f1 score increased by 55.6% and 37.4%, respectively, compared to raw data and other models. ©2024 IEEE.

The Internet of Things(IoT)is a modern approach that enables connection with a wide variety of devices *** to the resource constraints and open nature of IoT nodes,the routing protocol for low power and lossy(RPL)networks may be vulnerable to several routing ***’s why a network intrusion detection system(NIDS)is needed to guard against routing assaults on RPL-based IoT *** imbalance between the false and valid attacks in the training set degrades the performance of machine learning employed to detect network ***,we propose in this paper a novel approach to balance the dataset classes based on metaheuristic optimization applied to locality-sensitive hashing and synthetic minority oversampling technique(LSH-SMOTE).The proposed optimization approach is based on a new hybrid between the grey wolf and dipper throated optimization *** prove the effectiveness of the proposed approach,a set of experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of NIDS for three cases,namely,detection without dataset balancing,detection with SMOTE balancing,and detection with the proposed optimized LSHSOMTE *** results showed that the proposed approach outperforms the other approaches and could boost the detection *** addition,a statistical analysis is performed to study the significance and stability of the proposed *** conducted experiments include seven different types of attack cases in the RPL-NIDS17 *** on the 2696 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 proposed approach,the achieved accuracy is(98.1%),sensitivity is(97.8%),and specificity is(98.8%).

Several instances of pneumonia with no clear etiology were recorded in Wuhan,China,on December 31,*** world health organization(WHO)called it COVID-19 that stands for“Coronavirus Disease 2019,”which is the second version of the previously known severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)Coronavirus and identified in short as(SARSCoV-2).There have been regular restrictions to avoid the infection spread in all countries,including Saudi *** prediction of new cases of infections is crucial for authorities to get ready for early handling of the virus ***:Analysis and forecasting of epidemic patterns in new SARSCoV-2 positive patients are presented in this research using metaheuristic optimization and long short-term memory(LSTM).The optimization method employed for optimizing the parameters of LSTM is Al-Biruni Earth Radius(BER)***:To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology,a dataset is collected based on the recorded cases in Saudi Arabia between March 7^(th),2020 and July 13^(th),*** addition,six regression models were included in the conducted experiments to show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed *** achieved results show that the proposed approach could reduce the mean square error(MSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and R^(2)by 5.92%,3.66%,and 39.44%,respectively,when compared with the six base *** the other hand,a statistical analysis is performed to measure the significance of the proposed ***:The achieved results confirm the effectiveness,superiority,and significance of the proposed approach in predicting the infection cases of COVID-19.

Road accidents have been known to be one of the leading death causes around the world for a long time. Thus, cars and all kinds of road vehicles form a huge source of danger, and they relate to multiple high risks. There are many factors that can contribute to road traffic accidents such as the health condition of the driver if a medical emergency event happened while driving, drowsiness, or mind-wandering. The proposed system can monitor the behavior of the driver while driving as well as his/her health status. Moreover, it analyzes the monitored data, alerts the driver in a timely manner, and assists him/her in adjusting the driving behavior. Different dangerous and risky situations which can be faced during driving can be captured and avoided by using such a system which leads at the end to increase road traffic safety and reduce vehicle collisions. Notifications are developed in cases of drowsiness, loss of focus, or other concerns that may emerge while driving. However, when the driver's ability to operate the vehicle safely is hampered by a health concern, the implemented system is only able at this stage to alarm the driver itself and the surrounding cars as a first level of alarms. © 2023 IEEE.

Selecting the most relevant subset of features from a dataset is a vital step in data mining and machine *** feature in a dataset has 2n possible subsets,making it challenging to select the optimum collection of features using typical *** a result,a new metaheuristicsbased feature selection method based on the dipper-throated and grey-wolf optimization(DTO-GW)algorithms has been developed in this *** can result when the selection of features is subject to metaheuristics,which can lead to a wide range of ***,we adopted hybrid optimization in our method of optimizing,which allowed us to better balance exploration and harvesting chores more *** propose utilizing the binary DTO-GW search approach we previously devised for selecting the optimal subset of *** the proposed method,the number of features selected is minimized,while classification accuracy is *** test the proposed method’s performance against eleven other state-of-theart approaches,eight datasets from the UCI repository were used,such as binary grey wolf search(bGWO),binary hybrid grey wolf,and particle swarm optimization(bGWO-PSO),bPSO,binary stochastic fractal search(bSFS),binary whale optimization algorithm(bWOA),binary modified grey wolf optimization(bMGWO),binary multiverse optimization(bMVO),binary bowerbird optimization(bSBO),binary hysteresis optimization(bHy),and binary hysteresis optimization(bHWO).The suggested method is superior 4532 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 and successful in handling the problem of feature selection,according to the results of the experiments.

Artificial neural networks are effectively used to solve various problems (recognition, clustering, classification, etc.) in conditions where information about objects is given by vectors with binary components. The Hamming neural network is an effective tool for solving these problems when the initial information is given in the form of bipolar vectors. However, when comparing binary objects with qualitative features, more than 70 different distances (proximity measures) and proximity functions of binary objects are used. Synthesizing dozens of neural networks for matching binary objects is too laborious. Therefore, a universal approach to the synthesis of such neural networks is proposed. In addition, the Hamming network can select only one object from its memory that is closest to the input. It cannot function normally if there are two or more such objects. The proposed neural network does not have this shortcoming. And last but not least, a neural network with this architecture allows you to calculate various distances and similarity measures of the input data and data stored in the network memory © 2022 IEEE.

The purpose of this research is to develop a functional model of the electrocardiological study using the methodology of functional modeling IDEF0. The functional model of the electrocardiological study are developed in the form of a contextual diagram, its decomposition, and decomposition of the activities To perform registration and analysis of electrocardiograms and To perform diagnostics. Using the proposed functional model of the electrocardiological study, the structural diagram of the cardiological decision support system is developed based on the morphological analysis of biomedical signals with locally concentrated features. The modules of the proposed cardiological decision support system, as well as the modes of its operation, are considered. Further research is aimed at developing an information model of the electrocardiological study for the development of an informational structure of the cardiological decision support system based on the morphological analysis of electrocardiograms. © 2022 IEEE.
